Death is the end... at least, that is the case for most people. After an ordinary salesman dies in a car crash caused by a couple making out, he is reincarnated in another world as a fierce and powerful dragon. However, being an evil dragon has its own share of problems, as adventurers and evil-beings alike seek him out in attempts to slay him.

Kuroe, one adventurer who hasn't given up on defeating the dragon, keeps facing him in order to test herself and prove her mettle. But after suffering another loss, Kuroe and the evil dragon "Ja" have a heart-to-heart. With a new understanding between them, they leave Ja's home and set off for town together. Though their companionship is brief, it paves the way for Ja's hilarious travels and his many encounters throughout the world.

There are some minor spoilers, so take care when reading this;

Now, there are a lot of differing opinions on what you should get out of isekai stories; I'm pretty fond of the genre, myself, and watch a lot of the anime - recently have read quite a few of the manga as well. That being said, there are a lot of different styles, portrayals, and premises for them to play out as. Many negative reviews here, so I thought I'd offer a different opinion, as I enjoyed it just fine.

I rated story 5, as it does tend to follow a lot of the isekai stereotype and not very original beyond the introduction...

The art I gave a 7 - it's not super serious like what you might find in darker stories, but I feel that given the idea of this story is supposed to be pretty lighthearted, the art fits well enough.

The characters I rated a 6; The MC is reincarnated as a badass, lazy, super-powerful dragon. That should be a sweet change and offer a lot of freedom, but as was stated, he takes a pill and becomes a human...or looks human - he still possesses a lot of his dragon powers, or begins to later. Ultimately, he's a badass, but they took some of the direction the story can go away and narrowed it down to the stereotype. Next, introduce the hot elf chick. He gets a companion to his 'party' that fits the stereotypical elf of isekai stories. Young, Bangin' body, and has major skill with archery/magic/combat. Not all bad, and eye candy is always welcome, but there are more ways to go than following the pattern.

As for the Enjoyment rating, I gave it a 7; the reason being, I enjoyed reading it. It was a good way to kill some time, and I felt comfortable reading all 18 chapters from start to finish (not a finished story yet, but what is there so far!) without taking any breaks. At the end of the day, I just look for ways to kill time and make me smile. I wasn't appalled by reading this, nor was I shown scenes that made my stomach curl, as has been the case with other manga/anime. Goblin Slayer, for instance, the first episode left me feeling disturbed and anxious because of the cruelty and depth of evil they portrayed. That's not bad for everyone, but that's also not what I look for. So, in the end, depending on what you expect from a manga or anime, you can expect differing opinions on enjoyment levels. The first review I read, the guy seemed to be more interested in the more serious type of story, whereas this story is more for lighthearted comical value. There are some dark parts in it (the elf's story, for instance, was pretty sad/dark/evil), but overall it follows a lazy, snarky guy looking to have an enjoyable life in this new world he's been forced into.

Overall, I gave it a 7. I will say that the author/artists will need to at some point give a more detailed backstory for the MC. There have been a few hints, but it's all pretty darn vague. I look forward to seeing more, and I hope that the ratings here (overall a 7ish score, so that's good!) don't plunge so much that the story is never completed. Nothing breaks my heart more than getting a good manga/anime/novel series that cuts off in the middle because of lack of funding, or ratings, or some such. Good example of that was the anime series Sekirei - I started watching that a few years back, got through the second season, which ended with a very "to be continued" sort of ending, then almost a decade later, nothing. That's not relevant to this review, so I'll leave it at that; All in all, I strongly recommend this series to someone who wants a fluffy, lighthearted adventure story about a guy trying to have a decent, happy life - no 'defeat the evil' or 'find a way home' or any of that crap, just a "I'm gonna have a good time here" kind of story.

Sorry. Had to write this review because it annoyed me how good this story could be if not for chapters after 15 or 16. Have tried to keep spoilers to a minimum, but there could be some. Sorry.

The art is clean, easy to read and enjoyable. Which is nice when we get to bloodsplattering later. Nicely detailed.

Main charater is an "evil" dragon (if you read the story until 25 you'll understand) who in the beginning have dragon form. In early story he becomes human, and never shows his true form again except his arms. Not you typical mister nice guy, ISN'T CHASTE, but has borrows some traits from other nice isekai mains. Never had anything against chaste mains, but other people dislike it apparently. My problem with him is that he isn't consistent about who of Irenu's abusers he kills. He also lets her go alone after someone who sold Irenu into slavery.

That said Irenu is this series respite from the rest of the story. She's loyal a bit too fast, but this didn't annoy me while reading.

My main gripe is the story post 15/16. When I was finished with chapter 25 my first thought was NOPE. This is not an easygoing cute isekai although it borrows some elements of it. Could be a nice story with action and emotional scenes but is not. Also uses atleast 3 instances of kids to evoke emotion, but I got numb at number 3 and that was the right call by far.

Sorry this is a relativly badly written review, but it is my first time writing one and it has good points, but also flaws and bad elements where the latter is the one's I remember more.

Contains some minor spoilers!!

Everybody knows what isekai is: a guy dies and gets reincarnated in another world. Personally, I find that concept very fun and interesting. Even though it's hard to find a good isekai that doesn't fall victim to lazy writing, I always find myself giving isekai titles the benefit of the doubt. I wish I didn't in this case...

Jaryuu Tensei is about a guy that dies and gets reincarnated as a monster, a DRAGON more specifically. Now, how cool does that sound? Well, you'd think it would be easy enough not to fuck up when your protagonist is a fucking dragon, but everything with this manga is just so wrong. Let's dive in!

Story: 2/10
From the first couple of chapters you might think, "hey this might be an ok story", the MC is overpowered as fuck, yes, but his cute slime lackeys give you the hope that the story won't go the "I'll be an adventurer!" or "I'll build a city for monsters" route like other titles, since our MC apparently just doesn't give a crap about any of that... Until he swallows an orb and obtains a human form... That's where it all goes downhill to the cliché route of every isekai manga ever made. He gets a hot elf companion, starts doing jobs for the guild, kills monsters that no one else can etc. typical isekai bullshit.

Art: 2/10
Oh god, the art... The art is so bad, so unfit, and so comical, that it's impossible to take seriously anything that happens in this manga. Even the moments where people are brutally killed and butchered are hilarious and ineffective because of the utterly terrible art. I've seen better-drawn art by amateur artists on tumblr, and the only reason I'm not giving this a dogshit score of 1, is because at least it's better than anything I'll ever draw in my life.

Characters: 2/10
Rushed is the only word I can think of that is appropriate for the characters in this manga, they're just never given enough time to be properly fleshed. 15 chapters in an isekai manga and the main character has no clear goal or motivation. He's just a carbon cutout of every other isekai protagonist ever.

Enjoyment: 2/10
Enjoyment? Forget about "enjoyment", this manga isn't even enough to scratch the isekai itch.

Overall: 2/10
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to purposefully waste their time. Go read Goblin Slayer, Saihate no Paladin, or Tate no Yuusha. They are much better titles that at least have some effort put into them.
