Sixteen-year-old Yun Morokawa would not describe herself as a "lovenista" or "love expert." Although she falls in love frequently and easily, she can never stay with any guy for long. For Yun, sex causes extreme pain and none of her past boyfriends have been sympathetic regarding her discomfort.
Yun has never had reason to interact with juvenile delinquent and gang leader Hiromichi Kondou. But one day, a chance encounter leads to an honest conversation between them. Hiromichi reveals that he secretly aspires to become a make-up artist, and in turn, she divulges her aversion to sex which wars with the constant need to be in a relationship.
Hiromichi suggests that Yun would feel pleasure instead of pain with the right sexual partner—and he offers his assistance as a way to help overcome her trauma.

Lovenista review
A sweet story with a definite twist when you look at everything the male character was involved with. I appreciate the struggle that Yun went through to try to do the best thing for herself (finally) and ultimately pursue her dream. Story can be found online at www.otakuworks.com.

Lovenista review
Lovenista is a Shoujo, Smut, Romance that’s rather different from the usual shoujo manga’s take on love & dependency, which would have been great if it was executed well enough.
It’s about a love struck high school girl (Yun Morokawa) who hasn’t been able to keep a long-lasting relationship but that all changes when she meets a notorious guy (Hiromichi Kondou) in her school. Though I must say that the way the relationship began was a little odd, because it didn’t seem believable. It goes like this: she meets a guy she normally wouldn’t go for, however she ends up falling blindly in love with him anyway. At least the various relationships that occupy this manga are very captivating; especially the main one that is full of strife and some surprising turns of events. The main couple involved in this manga are very typical for your average school-based shoujo romance. We have your cute but gullible heroine and your handsome but mysterious hero. They each have dependency issues that make their odd relationship interesting but their qualities were rather lacking. The characters on the side are pretty much the same; they’re interesting but lack substance. The most appealing factor of this manga has to be the artwork, with a lot of effort put into the character designs, the detailed backgrounds and the sensual romantic moments. The characters not only have nicely defined features, their sense of style is portrayed well and the sensual moments certainly get heated. Overall the word that comes to mind when I think of Lovenista is ‘unrealistic’. Sure the ‘make-up artist’ theme worked well with the stunning art style and romance was interesting except it just wasn’t satisfying, when it came to its typical shoujo ending. ^_^ |
Lovenista review
Personally, I found no satisfaction in this manga at all. It's defiantly a different and unique manga along the lines of "romance" and "true love", though in a way it is quite corny and stereotypical.
I would recommend it to anybody who's looking for a quick romance story, but honestly, it doesn't hold much substance. If your a romance reader like me who is looking for a little more then just a boy meets girl then 'The End', I do not recommend Lovenista. Additionally, I felt no emotion between the characters. No development and too rushed. Completely unrealistic, as well as unconvincing. |

The animation in this manga was great. It had its own sense of cleanness and grace. The story was good, slutty girl falls in love with punk guy and they "mend" each other. At least the characters had some more depth once the story progressed. Ending came quickly, but as expected from a short shoujo.
