Nozoki Ana

I didn't know this manga would leave me feeling how it did. Im writing this review with the vaguest idea of the manga. I read this years ago in high school. I expected what everyone else expected. Boobies. Instead I got traumatized by what should've been a quick skim read.
I dont remember what it was that got me so invested in the story that I ended up forgetting my original intentions and became invested in the characters so much. I became attached to these characters, interested in everything going on in their lives. I remember when I finished this manga, I was actually crying. A near-hentai manga made me cry. It left me in tears and so emotionally scarred that I locked it in the back of my mind, never to resurface again until recently. I decided to try to find it. Lo and behold, it was this, and I wasnt the only one who felt that way after finishing this manga.
I know recommending a manga that traumatized you probably isnt a good idea, but I know it was so damn good that it never left my mind. Maybe soon I'll regain the courage to read this again, but for now Ill leave you with an 8/10 and a strong recommendation to read this manga, not for the boobs but for the plot.

Let me explain why I gave 10/10 for a manga that deserve a 9.

This manga is good, you will in any case enjoy it, if you read this kind of stuff, even if you didnt, but I think most of you that arent used to read manga with sex scenes, even if the story is outstanding(10/10) will not enjoy because there are so many sex scenes that somethimes ruin the plot.

I gave 10 of 10, and wrote a review after 2 month I read this manga purely because is stucked in my head. I remember everything, I gave a 9 because it was really good but than today I decided to give a 10 because if you read a manga it should be one that remain and you can't forget even after months, that's why I decided that this manga even if is not worth a 10 overall is a 10.

The story s more complicated that it seems, at first you may think:
Oh is just peek game between 2 teenagers. She s a pervert... It's not!
I dont want to give you hint about the plot, but there is one guy that transferred in a flat to continue his studies and a girl with the fetish of peeking.
There are many love story between the MC (male) and the other girls, there are moment that make your heart stop beating and moment that make you say WTF?

The character are nothing special, but are enjoyable, like I said the strong point of this manga is the story(10/10), the art(9/10) and the enjoyement(9).

I raccomend reading this one, is just amazing, even if you think is nothing special, trust me it's special, you will understand at the end.

A Amazing Manga it has everything you want to except from a manga. The Art the character development is really good, for example Kido Character development and Emirus not only them but everyone elses.

Its a great Manga I Strongly Suggest that you read this manga for example at times you are so into reading the manga you don't really know what happens until it does.

The story is about a guy called Kido Who moves into a new apartment to attend a art school but the day he moved he finds a hole in a wall which leads to something unexcepted happen which during the course of the manga they deepen their bond as friends and later on becoming a ......

There isn't another story I've read so far that has made me rub my head as hard as I've had than Nozoki Ana. I am sorry for not seeing this through to the end but I really can't and don't want to read another page any time soon, and I'm going to explain why with this review.



Nozoki Ana isn't an average ecchi or rather, hentai manga. The author seems to have the plot thought out well and it was fairly engaging, originally. For the first 40 or so chapters (about half of all I've read), I was able to occasionally predict how the major events would turn out and I think this is mostly due to the main character - Kido being somewhat easy to relate. I felt for him, our emotions were in tune and we both saw exactly where he had made bad decisions. That's all good because I find this synchronisation enjoyable, as if I'm in his mind.


Up to this point, the Story is fair. As I've mentioned before, it was sad to watch his mistakes unfold into disasters but there's always some comforting at the end. The characters are fine, I could relate to Kido's thoughts. His friends are lacking in presence but can easily be overlooked anyway. The center is always Kido, his peeping neighbour (unpredictably troublesome) and his love/sex interest (always lovable). So far it's enjoyable and I've spent whatever free time I have to continue reading.


From somewhere in chapter 40-50 to beyond, the story brighten up well and it really dragged me into it further. Tears of joy were shedded, for an ecchi manga. I was so glad to be reading this. I was loving it, so very much. Whether it's the story where problems were satisfyingly resolved or the relationship between the characters being strengthen.



However, however, I really really regret reading past around chapter 75-80. Maybe I should've read some reviews before I read the manga but I didn't. If you haven't read past those chapters yet, I beg you to please stop around here. Sorry, I might just be reflecting too much of my own dread into this review but if you are not too well versed with dread, please do not read past chapter 80. I'm going to start explaining without revealing too much now.


To me, it felt like the author, changed. Kido's thought process became different. I couldn't grasp the reason of his decisions. I was, desynchronised from him and from that, I started to lose the story. And then, it headed further down south. As I've hinted before, I was very connected to the story just before and at this point, it's as if the author yanked all of it away from me and flung me out of the story like an extreme rollercoaster suddenly decided to derail from its sharpest turn, with me on it. Maybe I can also liken this to a heartbreak but it happened so quickly my heart was disintegrated without a speck of trace. Not to veer to far off, the author suddenly added a lot of plot devices in a span of too few chapters. And this broke me and my engagement to the story. Chapter 75-80.


My rating for the STORY dropped to 3, surely they still follow a logical order, AFTER an illogical turn.
ART remained somewhat consistent throughout all I've read, about an 8. It's a different style to other mangas. I think it made facial expressions more easily exaggerated but still acceptable and more importantly still enjoyable. They do sometimes look odd. As for the art of body-drawing, I have no complaints.
CHARACTERS at this point was disappointing, a 3 or 4. As said before, Kido started making too much illogical choices, his peeping neighbour remained consistent and his current love interest remained very lovable. The center is at Kido and the point of view has always been him. Therefore, his relationship with others is the main determinating factor of my score here, and at this point, his relationship with other major characters was overly problematic and could've been avoided.
ENJOYMENT dropped of course, 1 is fitting. I HATE the turn the author had made for the story. I might never continue where I left off. I am sad and I want to cry when I think about it. I once had a month long of nightmares from watching 2 horror movies and I'd rather have that than to ever be reminded of how this manga took a wrong turn.


OVERALL, for the whole manga that I've read, 5. I've always been indecisive and I'm soft on giving low scores but I also didn't finish this story. I don't like unfinished stories but to have me not want to finish one, this is a first. I'm sorry, Kido and I'm sorry Emiru but I can't. Nozoki Ana started off with decent speed, rarely slowing down, then took off and reached a paradise that I enjoyed every moment of. But illogically, it then decided to teleport into the nothingness of space. The sudden change suffocated me, to death.



Chapter 75-80.

Wow. Being that this manga is probably one of the first I've read, I cannot believe simply searching up some hard-on material on one certain website would suddenly lead me to read one of the greatest pieces of Japanese literature in my eyes until today. What stands before me is a piece of art that stands to harbor down the borders of realism and shoot it threw all of its weak points, to expose and prove that the world isn't only sun shine and rainbows, and although filled with coincidences and bits of plot convieniance, that the place we call home can suddenly turn into one of the most dangerous locations on earth, and there's nothing we can do about it.

Story - 10
This is one of those books that simply leaves me wanting to know more, see more, and to be more than I was before I read it. Seeing the main character develop was simply grand, and the person who helped shape him would also, in time, reveal to be such an equal to our normal selves, as we see the chapters fly by with characters slowly tearing off pieces of disguises, and to the end, completely expose truths and lies about the how plot of the manga.
(Realized I'm talking more about character dev here, so I'll add a bit more)
There aren't that many places in the book where logic became out of place, rather the outrageous things that do occur still seem realistic enough for us to realize that this isn't real, and to believe what's going on, like a drama should be. The stroy stays true to itself, and although there are some tangents, they tend to still progess the story in more ways than one, and even in fan service, does the book stay loyal to the plots and themes and what it displays. From human nature to the act of denial, this dark manga shows all, yet shows none all the same.

Art - 10
Gorgeous art for both the perverted and the serious, if you were looking for a hard-on, go on right ahead, and if you were looking for something serious, again, go right ahead. To say the least, that's how good the art style was and how influential it is to the whole of the manga.

Character - 8
Both main characters - Kido and Emuru - have so much going for them when it comes to change that they will sometimes define it, yet all the same contradict it by reverting themselves to their old ways. That's the issue, sadly, as the time in the manga moves on, sometimes, and I do mean only sometimes, the characters tend to not move forward, and thanfully, the author notices as their are dedicated chapters for such development delays, and respectfully corrects what's wrong in a fashion that is almost unseen by the eyes of a normal reader.

Enjoyment - 8
Considering allmy praise for the work until thus far, I still cannot seem to enjoy the ending as most other people have, as their are few words that have infuriated be throught the ending, and if you interested, please do message. Sure the endings happy, but to what end? For the reader, it can be infererred to many different cases and scenarios, and for my mind, I cannot seem to find a suitable on, and I wish that the series had continued one more chapter to explain their exisiting last chapter, as I have not been holy satisfied with what was given. Overall however, the arcs and scenarios throughout the middle and begginning of the book have such great depth and amazing plot continuites and twist, that they almost make up for this somewhat meager ending. If you do have an issue on unfinished ties, and implore you to never read the last two chapters, for the good for both your brain and your heart.

Overall - 10
I think my huge paragraphs of the previous catagories have already described to you how much this manga has changed me as a reader and a person, and that I hope those willing enough to read this will also persevere to the very end, as you will become stronger with each moment your eyes lay on the bosom of this story. The lessons its teach are unforgettable and foreboding, and any of those willing to dish out for something normal and light-hearted should steer away now, as this book litterally kicks the butts of those who cannot accept the mantras it spouts.

Almost dying of a hearth attack for a softcore hentai?

Allow me to entroduce you to a very very well written manga, i am not going to spoile anything about the history, i promise.

This manga got me out of guard for real, i was hoping a normal hentai, with cute girls and stuff but when i started reading it i couldn't stop reading it i was atraped, i wanted to know more. This manga made me feel a lot of feelings in just 2 days, my chest ached for the anxiatity, i went from exciment to sadness and after that to happines and then to anxiatity it was a trip of one way into my deepest feelings.

Story 9/10:
Normally in hentai they're normal historys, with a quick start, middle, climax and an end, BUT this manga feels like real life, you hope that after the first problem stuff it's going to start to go well, you hope that the MC's will be together BUT NO, the mangaka fucks you up and makes you die for anxiatity (in a good way if that's posible). The end it's actually really good, feels like tha mangaka doesn't know how to end an story, it's like "bro PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU END THIS F STORY FOR ONCE", but he knows what he's doing he knows how to make you feel stuff, i love this manga.

Art 10/10:
It's ok, i don't have any issue with it, and it doesn't kicks you out of the climax.

Characters 8/10:
The MC's are just perfectly written and some of the friends of the mc's are too, but there are plenty of other characters that i dont like that much, i would explain it but it would be a spoiler of his arcs. They are all ok overall, the manga its great any way.

Enjoyment 10/10:
As i said it felt like a trip of feelings, it made me want to feel in love again lmao.

"Nozoki Ana" a story about a hole, a boy, a girl and a perverted secret.

Nozoki Ana or a peeping hole is one of those stories that are borderline hentai. so if your not of super ecchi manga this might not be to your liking. but this ones a good one with an actual story and with plenty of beautiful women to fit your liking.

story:- 9

*This might be somewhat of a spoiler but if your read like the first 1-4 chapters you'll pretty much get the same.*

"curiosity killed the cat" could pretty much summaries the basic plot of the story. we get one of our mains who moves away from his hometown to start a new life, not much of a surprise there. but his new apartment has one thing that's strange, a hole in the wall. he looks into the hole with his friend and sees nothing. but to his curiosity he returns to it for a second helping. To his surprise he finds his neighbor doing what normal people do, sitting down reading a book...no wait ,no she's not she's masturbating! he can't believe his eye, she eventually catches him peeping on her and he freaks out and stops. so what would a normal person do? they would go next door and apologize. He goes next door, keep in mind he does not know anything about his neighbor or what kind of reaction shes going to have to his voyeurous act. the neighbor opens the door and to his surprise this beautiful young women opens the door. he attempt to say he's sorry and but she tries to shut the door before he could say anything. he stops he and falls on her and ends up in a classic ecchi situation. but now this seemingly shy innocent women takes a picture of this and forms a contract with our main, a peeping one. and so the normal life he wanted ends up leaving him. and his new "interesting" life begins. so now kido (our main) will have to do lovely things in order to please emiru(other main) and will find out things about himself that he didn't know.

art- 8

this is actually one of my favorite manga's, do to the art. the eyes i got to say are some of the best drawn that I've seen so far, very erotic :P. facial expression are drawn well and all the women have "nice bodies" and the h scenes are well drawn and well done. the girl's on the other hand look kinda similar to me other than the hair change. the background art is also very nice. but other than that good art overall.

characters- 8

there's basically only two main characters and a whole lot of supporting characters. lets start of with one of my favorite characters of all time Ikuno, Emiru. She is not like most of the girls you read about she is actually pretty perverted and makes kido do certain stuff to make her "happy." but most of the time you can really see the love she has for kido in the situation that both of them get in. Then there's Tatsuhiko, Kido our other main character. hes your typical harem lead. he gets in a lot of ecchi situations. and all the girls love him. But he's actually a decent guy...well sometimes. and last but not least this is a harem after all ill talk about the ladies. this mangas got quite a few women that fall into our mains lap from the childhood friend, to the hot girl in class, to a model. so you get loads of women, though i wouldn't really consider these encounters love... i will also like to add that once there time is through they disappear of the face of the world, i don't know why but that's how it is.

enjoyment- 10

i thoroughly enjoyed this manga pretty much the whole time i was reading it. This story is actually done pretty well compared to some other heavy ecchi mangas. If its not some of the steamy h-scenes its the twist and turns of the story. Some of the drama scenes are actually done well and when things go bad you actually feel bad for the characters.

overall- 9

Usually when you think of this kind of story you think about some old guy staring at young girls and you think gross. But this time it's a girl who starts it and one that you would never think would do such a thing. you get a nice romance story that has a unique style. Nozoki Ana is a definite pick up if you want something new that's not like most other stories.

"Nozoki Ana" is a decent adult style romance drama that's has copious amounts of hentai scenes and overall good writing but suffers from a main protagonist who is an insufferable wimp and emotional/psychological overtones that are frankly immature and incomprehensible.

The problem is actually quite simple - The mangaka could not figure out a way to draw out the romance between the two leads without having them act like idiots. Okay, mostly it's the male lead acting like an idiot, but veteran manga readers will know exactly what I'm talking about.

That being said, it's not all bad. There are some parts that are interesting, but there are also a lot of parts that are pointless sex scenes in terms of plot and frankly kind of boring for their "h content". If you're going to have a pointless sex scene, at least make it good, right?

If you can stomach a male lead that is probably the pinnacle of the typical shonen wuss protagonist, and I'm not saying this lightly, he's a complete waste, then you might get a decent amount of enjoyment out of this manga - but chances are you'll probably be perplexed at phenomena as to why he can't seemingly shove a 80lb japanese girl off him, or how he has the inability to say things like "Hey, get away from me!"

After reading NOZOKI ANA manga, i think this is "one of my favorite" manga both in Ecchi & Romance genre.
NOZOKI ANA tells the events that happens in the life of TATSUHIKO KIDO after he is blackmailed by his neighbor EMIRU IKUNO.
This manga is full of "ECCHI" & Romance. It isn't short on ECCHI.
As for the story, its full of comedy. Its not just Ecchi, you'll experience plenty of emotions here.
My favorite character is EMIRU in this manga. She is an adorable, mischievous character. She is also the female lead in this story.

It has a Happy end, so don't worry & read it.

NOZOKI ANA has been a fun read to me.

[REVIEW CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS, BE WARNED]

Initially, I thought Nozoki Ana was utter bullshit. I mean, why does Emiru like to peep? What was her motives? And why is the guy a total wuss time after time? These were the questions that perplexed me as I went along breezing through each chapter. And during Madoka's Arc, I had finally understood. It was all because they wanted "true" human connection, In Emiru's perspective, she had wanted to look at the true nature of Kido. What was the mask behind that pure, blissful smile? She has been entranced by Kido's sense of morality that she became obsessed with him. After all, she had nothing to lose at that point. She only had a true, but fragile, connection with Kido at that time. On Kido's perspective, he was just like me; why the fuck does this girl want to peek? What was her goal? And at that end,  謎を解くだ。 Mystery solved. Finally, we are shown Emiru's past. And boy was it a trainwreck.



Ignorance is bliss, and in Emiru's case, her knowledge was what made her feel despair. She had been questioning the genuineness of her relationship with the people around her. She was showing a mask in front of other people, not actually giving a fuck who they truly are. Which consequently turns into a fuckfest of people not actually giving a fuck about her identity. This barrier was tearing her apart, especially since her brother has made an expectation to her; to be the closest sibling in the planet. This expectation has led them both to do everything in their power to help the other person in their own point of views. For her brother, being the best so that her mother gets lenient. For Emiru, it was being a loving and cheerful younger sister for her brother. But this was all not for the sake of the other person, it was a greedy kind of love. It was really in fact to satisfy other people's perceived needs. They did not truly communicate on what each other truly felt and wanted. This is what happens all the time -- in love, in families, in relationships, and even in day to day life. We assume that goodwill is done in respect to the other person but really it is something out of necessity or duty. It is this inspection of the difference between doing it just for the sake of appearance and knowing wholeheartedly what the person wants is the vital aspect of how people can learn who they truly am. It is the combination of both the beautiful and the ugly is when we learn to accept ourselves, and therefore becoming more beautiful in the process. The world isn't beautiful, therefore it is.

Nozoki Ana is by far, one of the most philosophically orgasmic manga I have read. Of course, it is by no means perfect. There are a lot of questionable things, but the good have outweighed the bad that gave me a whole lot to think about.
