SENSEI NI, AGERU

Well it's Ongoing but it's really adorable :) The art is beautiful and the story lines quite sweet. A young girls life changes and she's happier with this one person who's made such a difference. You can relate to it.
But the best thing for me was the artwork. It was beautiful.

"Sensei ni, Ageru"
This is your basic drama/romance manga with a little twist. It's a short manga about the romance between a young teacher and a student.

Story:
The story revolves around Mizusawa and Tanaka (as they're most of the time referred to) and the romance between them.
The story opens in an introducing way which is enjoyable, as one could say. However, there are a few problems with the story. The story is too rushed to be told in only 10 chapters. Too much characters are introduced which sometimes leads to confusion to why a character is acting in a specific way. The story would've been okay if it was around 30 chapters though, but that's just my own opinion.
The storyline itself is thought out well and stays enjoyable throughout the whole manga.
But again, everything was rushed, even the ending (and we all know it's very hard to decide on a good ending), but it was still very decent.
My decision was to give this a 7.

Art:
The art was really well done. It's really looks like a manga (and not like an anime, which sometimes occurs). It's very detailed and, still looking at it right now, definitely suits a lot of people's taste and it fits well with the storyline.
The characters definitely fit their personalities, which makes it even more enjoyable to read this manga.
Overall, I thought it was really good but with a few downs here and there: 9

Characters:
As I already said, the characters fit their personalities and their roles. Cute, nice, lovable and more importantly: not boring.
Basically all there is to say about the characters is also mentioned in the previous subjects... So I guess that's it for the characters.
The characters were well thought out but their personalities felt rushed due to the small amount of chapters. This made me give it a 6.

Enjoyment:
Overall a very enjoyable manga to read! I definitely recommend it if you're into romance manga, since it's easy to read and it doesn't consume too much time!
In the end I chose to give this manga an 8!

"Sensei ni ageru" is your average student-teacher romance manga.

On one hand, it tells the cliché-smelling story of a schoolgirl who has problems fitting into her class community falling in love with the only person that understands her true nature and values her (and who just happens to turn out to be her form teacher, as another familiar twist); on the other hand, however, the quality of the artwork and the honest and innocent way of thinking of the main characters gives the manga a fresh feeling, thus it somewhat compensates for the "ready-made" story.

To keep it short, here are my ratings with a few keywords:

Story: 6
+ logically built, easy to follow; best point: the way they finally deal with the situation when they get found out
- based on clichés; predictable; too short (and too hasty, takes on much more than it can manage in 10 chapters)

Art: 7
+ superior to the narrative
- simply beautiful, but not interesting, it does not build a unique imagery

Character: 3
+ honest, innocent characters; characters are constantly developing (and thinking, reflecting on their situation and actions, which is quite rare among the romantic shoujo manga of the same length)
- the biggest flaw of the manga in my opinion: the characters are undermotivated, flat, one-dimensional figures with no real depth (let us take the older sister as an example: one can pretty much guess what she is thinking throughout the story, but precisely because she always acts kind and is constantly smiling, the reader might feel disappointed, being left without any further insight to her thoughts, real emotions, and -most importantly- her relationship with her younger sister's teacher; same goes for all the other characters as well)

Enjoyment: 6
+ although it certainly has its flaws, it was a good read for a boring evening

Overall: 6
+ at first, I wanted to give it a 4; however, seeing that -surprisingly enough- the average of my previous ratings was a little above 5, I decided to give it an overall 6 :)

Isn't it wonderful falling head-over-heels in love for the first time? Of course, if the person to which you're attracted to turns out to be your new teacher, that feeling can immediately turn into one of the worst feelings imaginable.

Here we go with the typical cute girl meets a handsome guy outside of school, fancies herself in love with him, and then comes to school later to find out that he happens to be the new sensei. Oh, and you know, throw in the friendly classmate that doesn't have a chance, and there we have the typical student-teacher relationship.

What frustrated me the most was the teacher's attitude toward the main character Tanaka. She made it clear that she loved him and he didn't treat her any differently in spite of his status. In fact, he seemed nicer than ever. Sure, Tanaka was pretty cute, but he didn't seem to use his head sometimes.

And don't get me started on Tanaka. I loved how adorable she looked, but it was beyond me why the majority of the people in her class made fun of her for being a nerd and didn't invite her to hang out with them. She was one of the kindest people ever and their actions didn't make a lot of sense to me.

Despite all these disappointments and cliches, the artwork was really captivating. As I mentioned before, Tanaka and the other girls were super cute, and the boys were very handsome. Tanaka's hair looked really pretty and flowed around all the time, and she wore stylish outfits. She did look a little bit too young sometimes, though. The only complaint I have is that a few times her crying face looked a little ugly, though I know people aren't supposed to look perfect when they're crying.

While most of the story was unoriginal, there were a few elements in the plot that made it differ from the usual teacher-student relationship. The ending seemed a little too good to be true for me, though, so I dislike that. Other than what I've mentioned, I suppose this manga is all right. If anything, it's definitely eye candy.
