Kousaka Aoi is a young, avid gamer well-versed in all types of gaming. Down on his luck, he comes upon a suspicious job offer looking for those "proficient in games." Things were looking up, but before he knew it... he's thrown into another world! And now finds himself stuck at the bottom of a ravine with nothing but a pickaxe and shovel. At a loss of what to do, he slowly learns he can make a living in this by trading items he can craft.

What other possibilities are there in this new ever-expanding, game-like world our protagonist finds himself in!?

Don't you just hate it when you get a job as a manager, only to find out you have to manage a small house in a fantasy world? [The series is on Hiatus. Be aware that no new volumes might ever come. Update: MAL now says it's finished, so it's probably been cancelled.]

Story: I've read a lot of isekai, but this is probably the best one. And here is why. The Main Character has a clear goal, since he was hired specifically to do something. It's easy and simple, yet interesting. He travels around the near area, meets a lot of people and creates a whole new life for himself. This is known as "World Building", and this story does is perfectly. And if the protagonist does a good job, he might even get a raise and a permanent position after the three months trail period!

Art: The art is very beautiful, but there is a fairly big difference between the color pages and black'n white illustrations. Cute furry girls though.

Characters: Kousaka Aoi is without a doubt one of the better protagonists in the "game/fantasy" novels that is everywhere these days. He's a thinking, strategy style gamer, so this survival / manager role is really fitting and makes for an interesting read. He analyzes where he is, what he can do to survive and how to increase his living standard. He should be likable enough for anyone.

Then there's the Furry girl, Ann. She's a cute, hardworking girl that helps Aoi like an assistant. She's probably the main heroine, and a likable character if you like furry girls. Most characters are pretty much the standard types, but they are made in a good way and won't be ruining the story at least. And it's very nice to not have one of those girls with just cat ears and a tail. The girls here are like actually furry (animals that act like humans, more or less).

Overall, this series feels like it could be a fairly original work in these times of overwhelmingly many "isekai" stories. The way it handles the situation of traveling to the other world, and the "game mechanics" is very well done. But it's a bit too relaxed and slice-of-life to make a real impact. It's very funny and entertaining if you enjoy the genre. But it does leave you wanting more. The whole "dungeon-manager" thing is just overlooked. It's even called a "labyrinth" most of the time. But it looks like a peaceful paradise apparently. What. Da. Hell!? *facepalm*

Luckily, I like slow world-building stories with strong character development. Of course, the first volume might simply be the "introduction", and it could start moving faster in the coming volumes.

+ Good Art
+ Likable Protagonist
+ Hilarious 'Reviews' in the story
+- A bit Slow
- "Dungeon" Manager might've been a translation error, since there's no dungeon?
