Mitsukuni Tomoe

An amateur musician and one of the students who skipped school during the day leading up to the series.

Mitsukuni survives the rock paper scissors trial with rock and busts a rhyme to motivate the remaining contestants against Sein Kami who was conducting the trial himself.

Believes in working as a group to an extent but is ultimately self concerned when it comes to dragging dead weight like Shimura around.

His most precious possession is his microphone and his tomfoolery allows him to shoot ice shards while rhyming. He later evolves his tomfoolery to the extent he can freely form and combine ice to create larger masses and a sword of compressed ice for Akashi to keep him safe.

After being separated from his group of Ushimitsu, Shimura, and Natsukawa during the second day of the Demon Extermination trial, Mitsukuni retreats to meet up with the rest. He quarrels with Akashi over his not being able to activate his tomfoolery and failure as a leader. Ultimately Mitsukuni blames himself for his friends apparent deaths and makes up and bonds with Akashi by guiding him along in learning his tomfoolery.


Setting out to find his friends on the third day of the Demon extermination trial, Mitsukuni is immediately confronted by Momotaro's monkey demon. After a short battle, Mitsukuni's ice tomfoolery overpowers the demon's fire but exhausts himself in the process. Mitsukuni passes away from injuries sustained by the monkey demon just after being reunited with Ushimitsu and Shimura.
