Wekapipo 039 s Brother-In-Law

The nobleman Wekapipo's sister married, who Wekapipo considered as a friend from his line of work. He was the son of a wealthy financial commissioner. He was regularly beating his wife and rendered her blind, prompting Wekapipo to ask the pope to annul the marriage, which the church approved of.


Wekapipo then begged his brother-in-law to divorce his sister but was beaten up by the man's scabbard. Humiliated, the man challenged Wekapipo to a duel using Steel Balls and was killed. However, his influence made him able to have Wekapipo exiled even in death.
