She is a supporting character in the special story of Toaru Majutsu no Index released on Dengeki Bunko and in Toaru Majutsu no Index: Kanzaki SS.
She is a 12-year-old girl with short blond hair, green eyes and a petite figure who wears a pink orange-like dress; she also is the younger sister of Patricia Birdway. She is a talented magician who has received various proposals from many organizations to join but flatly rejected them all. She encounters Touma in a random discovery of a certain organization's meeting and which involves him in a misunderstanding which makes her group to think of him to be a spy from a rival organization. She is later revealed to be the leader of the said organization, called the Dawn-colored Sunlight, despite her age.
She reappears at the very end of volume one of the New Testament novels. For certain reasons she gives Touma, Shiage and Accelerator a lecture on magic, magic cabals, and the new enemy that the Magic and Science sides will be facing:
GREMLIN
While she is not an enemy, she does know a surprising amount of what's been going on, and informs the three boys about the real reason World War III happened.
She led Kamijou, Accelerator and Hamazura to Hawaii to stop GREMLIN from executing their plan there. They managed to prevent the plan from completely succeeding, but their interfererence caused a civil war in the Science side to start—which was in truth Birdway's aim for approaching Kamijou and the others in the first place.
It was revealed later that Birdway and her cabal has teamed up with Ollerus to put an end to Othinus, along with GREMLIN. When GREMLIN targeted Fraulein Kreutune in Academy City, she stepped in with the goal of destroying the latter so that GREMLIN couldnt fulfill their goal. But this made her clash with Kamijou who was trying to save Fraulein Kreutune. She lost the fight and retreated, as there was no point pressing further after GRAMLIN's plan was already thwarted by the effort of the other Heroes.
Just before the Lance of Gungnir is completed, she went out with Kamijou in order to prevent it. But they got caught up in the chaos cleverly planned by GREMLIN. When they finally approached Othinus, the latter used the perfected Lance of Gungnir... To End the world.
