Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den review
Sometimes I wonder to myself why I haven't already dropped Samurai 8. So far, it fails to grab my attention. There are two reasons for this, its uninteresting narrative and confusing aesthetics. These two sometimes go hand in hand together making every read a Herculean task.

The first problem lies in the fact that Samurai 8 is essentially another bland battle shonen in terms of narrative. It lacks early Naruto's heart and ambition. Normally, I have great patience when it comes to such kinds of manga. Even with Black Clover's clumsy start, it managed to carve a niche and refined its narrative. For Samurai 8, it's still an unknown but I trust Kishimoto on this.

Unfortunately, its aesthetic problems are far more sinister than its narrative troubles that it might be a deal breaker for this manga. I wish that Masashi Kishimoto was the one drawing this instead of Akira Ookubo. I was only able to follow other "generic" battle shonen because their art is as straightforward as their narrative. But for Samurai 8, it's potential for worldbuilding is pretty much stunted by the convoluted art. Reading Samurai 8 is not only a bore but its takes more effort to read than your average manga. There is no depth and shadows. It's hard to distinguish between character and background. It looks like a coloring book instead of a manga.

Unless there is a dramatic shift in the art, Samurai 8 might just be a missed opportunity for a compelling manga.

Gigant review
Why you should read Gigant? (After 10+ Chapter Review)

Story is Very Good (8). Gigant is one of those stories that come from the mind of Hiroya Oku, the mastermind behind the hits Gantz and Inuyashiki. This means that you should expect 3 things: bizarre story, high violence and profanity and a sci-fi theme.

The premise of the story is a half blood Japanese AV Idol, Papico gets a mysterious digital dial-like object attached to her that has the ability to gigantify her body. *I can't help myself giggling while writing this*

The first 10 chapters of the story is more of a slice of life focusing on one of Papico's fan, Rei who develops feelings for his dream girl his journey to be with her. Along with that is the rise of a strange website named ETE (Enjoy the End) which makes poll with weird choices, and whichever gets the highest votes would come true.

It seems like a bland premise right? But as the story progresses and the stage has been set like any other Hiroya Oku's works, everything would be in chaos. This is already eminent to the latest chapter (14) upon writing this review.

Art is Great (9). The art is beautiful for me. The blend of pseudo realistic backgrounds with the character models and the brilliant alien-nano art on the technological aspects of the manga is stunning to look at.

This is one of those things that would keep you glued on a manga drawn by Oku-san it makes the story easy on the eyes and easier to read.

Characters are Good (7). Character-wise, there's not much characters on the story yet and it focuses on Rei and Papico's (Chiho) relationship.

Their characters are still in development but I can clearly see that they are being set up for a huge character change in the succeeding chapters which makes me excited in the anticipation of the next chapter.

All in all, the question here is should you invest in reading the first 10+ chapters of Gigant? My answer is a big YES. And you just need to look at Oku-san's previous works for you to know.

I would give Gigant 8 Papico merch out of 10

Botabota review
As somebody who absolutely loves Paru Itagaki and everything she writes, I was overall pretty stoked about this manga! I think that Itagaki had some interesting things she wanted to say with this manga, so let's get into it.

Story: 8/10
Sadly, this story was not as strong as Itagaki's other mangas, but I loved how bizarre and surreal it was. I think Paru's goal with this story was to show that not everything in relationships is all black and white. Some people need different things, and overall that's what makes relationships and love beautiful. I think this message got bogged down a bit with Paru attempting to explain the MC's condition and how it worked, and I think this story may have been written on the fly. Regardless, for something as short as it is, BotaBota is a ride and is worth reading.
Art: 10/10
What can I say, I'm a bit bias. I love Itagaki's art style and I love how she draws people. You can tell she's a bit out of her comfort zone considering she had been writing Beastars for years before she wrote this. Paru tends to go for very stylized illustrations, and overall I think her art style is put to work well here. As always, the paneling and how everything flows together is spectacular. (This is one of Itagaki's strengths for sure.)
Character 8/10
This story follows a woman who has a condition that causes her nose to bleed life-threatening amounts when she touches something dirty. Itagaki goes into how this has affected her life and her mental state. I think she does this fairly well, although she's done psychological stories a lot better in the past. Not bad for sure, but it could've been done even stronger. I am not going to be too critical about this since this was a very short manga that didn't appear to be Itagaki's main focus at the time.
Enjoyment: 10/10
What can I say, it was a fun read!
Overall: 9/10 I think this story was fun and surreal, but a bit bogged down by blurry messaging. I can tell what Itagaki was going for, but it didn't tie up right in the end. Overall not a bad story and worth your time In my opinion. :)

Agravity Boys review
I'll say this right off the bat here, I love Agravity boys so much. Imagine that all of humanity rests on the shoulders of four dudes. That's Agravity Boys for you.

Story - 7 The story is really enjoyable. When humanity is destroyed the last four people of earth are stranded on a distant planet in charge or saving the human race. The catch is that they are all dudes. While the story may seem serious the story doesn't take itself that seriously. The story becomes even more enjoyable when the cast expands a bit into the series.

Art - 8 I absolutely adore Nakamura's art style. The characters are all super unique and and the expressions that Nakamura draws for them only adds to the stories comedy. All the backgrounds are also super unique and add to the overall sci-fi feel of the series.

Characters - 9 Every character in this series has so much personality. Along with the amazing character design each character has such a fun personality that adds to the story. The characters work so well with each other making for a fun cast that can always make you smile.

Enjoyment - 10 I love this series so much. On my personal list I have it as a 10 because of how much I adore it. I love the comedy from this series so much which is good because its the basis of the story. The comedy is a hit or miss for most people, you either love it or you hate it. Most of the comedy tends to be juvenille but at the same time its so fun and random that you have to love it. The comedy of the series makes the series story go from plot point to plot point to so well because of the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously.

Overall I really enjoy this series. Even though I personally give it a 10 thinking from a more critical perspective I think its a 9. While the comedy may be a turn off to some people if you do like that type of comedy you will probably really enjoy this series.

Darenimo Ienai review
I really liked this story.

This was very enjoyable. Just as the synopsis says, girl has crush on prince she's dreamed of and in order to get rid of someone he believes to be her crush's "girlfriend", she decides said "girlfriend" at her place. Let's just say that the story is totally different.

The concept of gender-bender is not original, but I always like the storyline given to them and how they're executed. I have to say this was a good execution of a great plot line. I liked the story immensely. Unfortunately it's poor for character development, like you don't get to know the characters---and this is not always an affliction of one-shots, but found more prevalent amongst them.

The lead girl is a bit flaky but strong. She's not one to sit around and be mistreated. She takes the initiative to make her dreams come true, in the process she puts herself in precarious situations and ultimately funny moments with the lead. She had her moment, although a small window, of dealing with her sexuality. As she believes she may be having feelings for a woman. ^_^ That was ridiculously entertaining...although the writer didn't touch on this too much in the story, which was unfortunate. The lead male is sexy as hell, either as a male or a female. Adored him as a woman though, he makes me lol. He's a funny character.

The story was good, the art was excellent, the characters were mediocre but fun, and I enjoyed it, immensely, as I stated. Good read.

Ore to Hero to Mahou Shoujo review
Despite it's looks, this was actually quite a good manga. The genderbending magical girl element surprisingly doesn't make me cringe.

The story is very simple. It's about Hayato Juumonji, a middle aged man who aspires to be a hero and carry out justice. Problem is, whenever he transforms he turns into a magical girl (Literally a little girl).

It is quite entertaining to see him running into trouble and dealing with them whilst in that form and also interacting with people which may cause misunderstandings and all sorts of other troubles. It also makes you wonder what is going to happen in the future as he continues being a hero. Will he be known as a freak who transforms into a little girl or the magical girl that defeats the bad guys? (He's not going to be happy with either one).

The art is not very impressive and is quite simple. However this actually quite suit this kind of manga in my opinion.

There wasn't much character development. It's just mainly on Hayato and his hero career. The villains mostly are just there to be there. They only serve to create a situation to put our main character into action.

Overall I really enjoyed this manga. There aren't many series about a middle aged man transforming into a magical girl so I found this quite unique. You don't have to be a fan of genderbending or the magical girl genre to enjoy this series. For the most part it feels like a normal 'hero defeating villians/monster' kind of story.

Arigatou review
Introduction:
Hidden gem. Is the words I would use to describe Arigatou, and the fact that this manga is rated only a 7.04 completely contradicts it's level of quality. To note the beginning chapters of this manga shows graphic depictions of sexual assault, and will have you going "what the fuck am I even reading" at times. But that being said let's move on with the review.

Story: 10
Arigatou is truly an intelligent manga which both satires and criticises Japanese society and it's culture, in terms of traditional family values, business culture, criminal justice system, obedience and submissiveness instead of conflict, (looking past the problem so everyone can stay happy) and their effect on the family & vice versa. This leads to the core of the story which is about a father coming back to mend his dysfunctional family which he has neglected in pursuit of his work. The absurdity of the situations this family get into is weirdly hilarious, given how dark the series can get and surprisingly has somewhat of a heart warming ending.

Characters: 8
The characters are quite realistic in terms of their personality and actions and honestly are quite funny with how self aware they can be. My personal favourite character is the father, even though he is quite stubborn, ignorant and just not the most morally good person. He still cares for his family and truly wants to help, even if it's not necessarily the best way and believes strongly in traditional values that he has to be the man of the house and solve all problems himself, not relying on society to help him.

Art: 7
Honestly the art is nothing really special, but it looks alright I guess. The character expressions are funny at times.

Enjoyment:10
Nothing much to say more I really liked it lol.

Final Verdict: 10
This is a must read manga for anyone, I would say it's most comparable to oyasumi punpun but I like this manga much more. So I guess all I can say now is please don't be turned off by the low score, this manga is special. "arigatou" for reading my review.
