Yomeiro Choice review
The word "funny" does not even begin to describe Yomeiro-Choice (Choose the Color of Your Wife). Seriously, this manga will make you cry out of laughter, with over-the-top hilarity. However, it does not fall to what some comedy series do; that is, complete, pure comedy beyond stopping. No, there is a good amount of drama that goes along the series, without being ruined by inappropriate jokes, and one can really learn from those moments.

A high-school student, Sakuraga Saku, is often bullied by his childhood friend, Karin, who sometimes helps him with his homework. Lately, though, Karin has become pushy about going to Saku's place, which he finds weird and tries to avoid. As it turns out, Sakuraga's cousin, Kuran, aka Kuraran, has just moved in with him, surprising Karin at first, seeing her in just a towel (after taking a shower). All of a sudden, a little girl appears out of nowhere and claims to be Kiiro (Yellow), Saku and Karin's daughter from the future. When she proves who she is, Kiiro explains that at the current time, Sakuraga, her father, becomes a womanizer, and as such, his future is unstable. The former has begun disappearing in the future, therefore, she is here to make sure her parents end up together. The problem is, at the moment, the two have not confessed their feelings for each other or even gone out on a date. Can Karin, the mother, just move past this and be Saku's wife . . .?

If you are thinking, "so, it is basically about someone going 'back to the future'? then worry not, my friend, because the very first chapter's title, "Fuck to the Future," means the author has beaten you to that thought already. Although the manga initially seems like a nice parody, it is just that: It "seems" like a parody. There are more surprises down the road; I promise.

If you like goofy characters, then you will love these. Sakuraga Saku is someone who likes to run away whenever faced with a predicament and, thanks to his cousin, becomes lazier and lazier. His childhood friend, Karin, is constantly by his side, telling him what to do, without revealing her true feelings for Saku, or even confessing them to herself. Kuran is a quiet, clumsy girl, who also secretly likes Saku, babying him. Saku's friend, who is the class president as well (called "class shrimp" because of her size), wants her body to grow and is very conservative; unbeknownst to others and herself, she can sometimes turn to "ero (perverted) mode" when her embarrassment level reaches its peak. The little girl from the future is Kiiro, an energetic, childish person who will not stop until her parents are together. More are introduced later, making a certainly "colorful" cast.

Save for Kuran and Karin's mother's (basically all) large breasts (here), the art is pretty good. I do not like annoyingly calm characters, such as Kuraran and Hiiro (Red) (appears later), or high-schoolers that look like kids, e.g., Kozue Mebuki. I have read some of the other works of this mangaka, most of which are hentai (there is a joke on that in this manga), and she (yes, she is a girl) usually draws huge-breasted heroines that look and act like Karin. The author, "Tenkla," avoids that mistake in Yomeiro-Choice, turning it to be her most successful work.

Overall, you get yourself a funny, meaningful, beautiful story, with a love triangle. I guarantee you this is one manga that will never bore you. Ever. Definitely recommended.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS

I think it displays a perfect, umm.. Sado-mazo or, I don't really know what kind of a relationship that is exactly, but whatever it is, it's a perfect example of it. What I mean to say with that is that.. When I see this kind of stuff wherever, I could only appreciate it if I were an individual who has grown up and developed with/into such a mindset.
Here in this story, I've for the first time ever(even still somewhat) managed to enjoy the fetishism in it.
The things that would normally be "get this out of my face", or even "*blurgh* that is disgusting", were okay to me, and in one(out of only a few instances), THE LATTER was an amazingly beautiful moment.
Perhaps I'll whenever I encounter this stuff wherever from now on always remember this story, and the end of it. I hope that it will be so.

I dislike that the character insight is low, in the sense that there is basically zero of the characters' pasts told about.
It probably makes it very hard to accept this story, to take it with full seriousness/sincerity. A friend for who I'd concluded that this manga would suit their preference, dropped it almost immediately because of exactly this issue. She thought that Madoka is the devil and couldn't take the manga seriously, she wanted to read something realistic and not niche horror stories.
The low rating is here because it's not my perfect cup of tea.
The low rating is also an act of spite for never being revealed more about the characters' pasts.

There are beautiful moments. Those moments take time to witness because to me it was hard to get a firm assesment of the characters(the thing crucial for me in order to love a story), and those moments have for me been based on growing to understand the characters more. Growing to understand how they express themself. With that said, those moments did't start ocurring within me until about early half-way through the story because the understanding has had to have developed first.

The ending vastly rose this story for me.
Up until the ending, I going to give it a 4/10.
But after the very end, it was kinda perfect.
The way this ended hurt, and I love that.
When a story makes me feel, well.. That's why I'm reading stories to begin with.
The end of this story is amazing and excruciatingly affecting.
It made for the story to be a piece that I've read, and that I'm very glad to have done so.

Oh, now that I think of this particular something, I'm getting goosebumps.
I love the "leaf-jumping".
Those two love and enjoy doing that.
It's so.. Beautiful..
Makes me recall a thing from the movie "American Beauty"(apart from that blonde actress's half-naked beauty), and I've seen the movie more than 10 years ago.
A couple in that movie recorded a plastic bag being swirled around by the wind, and then later watched that recording. It is beautiful to them.
Jumping on fallen autumn leaves.
A thing I don't really understand and I don't think I can understand so I take it for granted and see it for what it's to me presented as, something that is to another beautiful.
With the niche fetishes, perhaps, but when walking through the streets brim with autumn leaves, from now on I'll often recall the two of this story.

Spoiler:
The two of them never hugged.
That is horrible to me. That is the worst, the saddest part of this story to me.
They never hugged.
I get the feeling of suffocation upon thoroughly remembering that fact.
It is absolutely horrible to me.
Furthermore, seeing how the story ended, the possibility for the two of them to hug each other no longer existing..... Bloody hell.
(Naturally, this is all based singulary on how much of a significant thing a hug is for me. To hug the one you love and adore..)

Maker Hikoushiki Hatsune Mix review
I thoroughly enjoyed this interpretation of the Crypton Future Media idols: Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, Meiko, and Kaito. For those who are new to the Vocaloid franchise―DO NOT read this manga before you play the Project Diva games. There are many inside jokes and references that might seem confusing if you're new to Miku and her friends' adventures as voice-synthesizer idols.

• I read the Dark Horse publication of Hatsune Mix and the back of the book introduces the manga to those who have vaguely heard of Hatsune Miku. DO NOT listen to the misleading synopsis on the back of Dark Horse's omnibus! KEI's doujin-like interpretation of the characters are for those who already are attached to the characters and have pre-formulated opinions of them and their relationships! The Vocaloid canon is very similar to the canon of the Touhou (東方) games; all of the official character personalities are based on fan interpretation.

• The stories are told through short stories, erratic humor, and referential mayhem―causing many Japanese and otaku-based paroxysms to appear along the way; examples being things like itasha, daifuku, and even several nods to Hatsune Miku being Sega's cash-cow with the profitability of her merchandise. The meme-heavy, internet-based humor is faithful to many of the music videos that the Vocaloid franchise has released in the past like ggrks-ググれカス- ("Go Google It").

• Although KEI is a famous designer in the Project Diva sphere―I had issues with the way that the art looked in the first few chapters. The characters had large, black, beady-looking eyes and I was not a fan of it AT ALL. Towards the middle of the book, the art improves. The characters retain a more normal look and have a cute, sparkling, child-like glimmer in their expressions; and the panel layout later becomes smooth and less jarring.

• The stories were nice, laconic, and often heart-warming―like the Valentine's Day chapters. Additionally, lesser known Vocaloids like Gackt's and Kentaro Miura's love-child, Kamui Gakupo, and the famous fan-derivative, Yowane Haku (a depressed version of Hatsune Miku), both make cameo appearances in this book! As a huge fan of the "Voiceroids" (another name for unofficial Vocaloid characters), I absolutely adored the scene where Meiko goes out to drink and sees Haku at the bar!

• Overall, Vocaloid is special franchise that is not understood by the majority of people who only see Hatsune Mike's rise to fame as a weird Japanese icon that has a fixation with leeks; but underneath its veneer of superficiality there is a dedicated fanon (fan-canon) that has many different interpretations of characters that are teased in Hatsune Mix; personas that range from angsty and edgy to playful and silly―streaming together in an incredibly large pool of meta.

• The relationships between characters are teased but never explored, often left to the imagination... or a well-written fanfiction. In KEI's interpretation of Miku and Luka, there are even nods to them having romantic feelings for each other, something that has been quietly speculated about since Vocaloid's sudden burst of popularity in the 2000s. Despite my praise of the manga version, I still believe that stories of the Vocaloids are best told through musical interpretation. I believe that Hatsune Mix deserves a 6/10 because of its respect for the characters and the plethora of enjoyable references in lieu of Project Diva and the many fan interpretations that have followed.

Hanayome-sama wa 16-sai review
Ok so this review is not gonna win a Pulitzer. Sorry to all of you folks at bed review haters club but i must. Why? Because it seems that this manga hasn't received the attention it deserves. Why? Probably you read the summery and think "Not another arranged marriage to a rich guy manga". And if you get that impression your right this is another one of those but at the same time it isn't. I'll put it this way if it is just another manga in a long line of cliched genre, it is one of the best. Now there is a lot that is lacking from this manga. Some areas that could be further developed but on the whole this manga was very well done.

As far as the story goes I gave it an eight(very good) because it could have been deeper but at the same time it was deep enough to make you care for the characters and the happy ending, which in my mind is the mark of a good story. Sure they do the same old tricks. The guy is seemingly uncaring at times and takes her for granted but not to the point where you wonder if the guy just dosn't care at all. A lot of times that'ss what makes a manga unbelievable and some unbearable. Some authors force it onto the character to develop conflict in the story but than wants us to believe he's not a jerk and really in love in the next chapter. While this author does use some of that old schtick its not teeth clinching hokey.

Also the girl in this acts like your typically heroin, strong but naive, completely in love but scared to make that final step into woman hood. What really gets me about heroins in this type of manga is the guy could get shot, fight a bear off, and save her from drowning all at the same time but the next chapter she is still wondering how he feels about her. Now all this is an accepted part of shoujo manga but once again i believe most authors force it and over use it through the manga. I cant count the times i lost interested in a manga because of this. Thankfully this author either through genius or mistake seem to find the right balance so when she's wondering "how does he really feel" or "am i good enough" it feels believable rather than makes you want to scream "bakayaro what does he have to do get a tattoo of your face on his chest".

On the subject of side characters and rivals. This is an area where the manga could have used more development. There was a maid staff and they only had a handful of lines. How is that even possible in this day and age? But especially where the rivals are concerned, this maybe part of the reason the story felt more natural, conflict derived from out side interests in the main relationship aren't endlessly cropping up. Some times the level of problems these childhood friends, family approved fiances, and just splendidly wicked people can get some what tiresome like after the third or forth calamity. In this manga, and once again it maybe just a accidental result of poor development, the author cuts down the trouble considerably where the couple is as always strengthen by it but the reader wont get tired of the same old song and dance played out over and over again in the same manga. There is one scene in particular that was a piece of original that makes this manga the most original ive read in a while. If you are a huge shoujo fan I’m sure you'll catch it. It comes when the rival situation comes to a head. Kind of breath taking. I don't want to spoil so i won’t say anymore.

To kind of summarize my opinion of the story if you have read one too many shoujo manga and want to read one more then never another, read this one. If you've never read one before, this one will be a good start.

Now a few words on art. Nothing new or extravagant here. That's why i gave it a 7(good). The art is what it should be when it needs to be. Characters look cool or hot when they need to and comical when that is the mood. There are few breath taking renditions of the scenes we have seen over and over again in these mangas. (kind a like the embrace after a a perilous situation, the first kiss forced of course, and the near miss first sex) Not to spoil any one and I’m sorry if it does but when "it" finally happens. At the exact physical moment that "it" does the expressions are so real and romantic, unlike the usual fairy tale type coitus, unless its just me, that will raise this manga score on your list. Just to sweet.

So over all I’d say this manga should be on every bodies reading list. Maybe it will just be another arranged marriage to a rich guy manga to you or maybe you'll be as touched by the unique nuances as i was. Either way its worth giving a try.
