Monster review
I came late to this classic. Often considered one of the all-time greats, 'Monster' takes on ambitious subject matter - an exploration of the nature of evil itself, taking place on an international stage, wrapped up in an epic conspiracy thriller - and feels appropriately worthy because of it. Johan Liebert is one of manga's all-time charismatic villains, and rightly so; his unique genius is understated and all the more terrifying for it. And though his motivations suffer a little from Jokeresque non-directional nihilism, it does seem a shame to criticise this manga's writing in light of the derivatives that came after it. Like I said, I came late.

I was surprised at how plotty this work ended up being. In 18 volumes, Urasawa squeezes a lot of mystery and a lot of characters in. For all the publicity surrounding its protagonist and antagonist, they appear surprisingly infrequently after the inciting incident. This truly is an ensemble piece, though some characters are more interesting than others: my personal favourites being Mr Grimmer and the 17-year-old Vietnamese doctor whom Tenma meets in the second act.

Thematically the manga is a meticulously crafted prism, refracting what I believe is its ultimate question - could a person exist who cannot be redeemed? - through its dozens of subplots. Everyone here has a detailed motive for doing what they do, often explained fairly conventionally through flashbacks or long speeches. This is not necessarily a misstep either, since the Campbellian conventionality of its storytelling is part of its charm and it keeps the pacing nice and brisk. (Personally, I found the deep dive into Czech political intrigue late in Act 2 to be a bit of a slump, and would have preferred more time with characters like Eva, Roberto and Dieter in that space - but this is likely a matter of subjective taste.) The diversity of the characters in age, temperament and motivation is appropriately reflected in art which makes everyone distinctive and characterful.

This is an eminently critic-friendly work, as you have probably gathered - it's worth giving a try for its sheer renown, and if you like the thriller genre you can't go far wrong with it. A bleak but fast-paced and graceful noir about the scariest human being you could possibly imagine, 'Monster' hasn't lost much of its impact in the 25 years since it first began serialisation.

Solo Leveling review
Every. Damn. Time.

I don't understand why this superficial manhwa is so hyped

Solo Leveling tells the story of a mary sue named Sung Jin-Woo who tries to mimic a random isekai plot in search of a hollow character development, it's a kpop version of the Arifureta, but Arifureta can be funny for involuntary moments, but here, the things are they're stupids in a raw way, it's the kind of manga a person would make just to satisfy fetish self insert of a cool edgy guy in another world.

This story has a terrible worldbuilding, I thought it would show you at the beginning of your journey how the world works, but it did not this it at some point (even later), just leaves it to the reader to understand in such a flawed way, and when it suits, it's done in an expository way over and over, it's just "only talk, dont show'', it doesn't fully justify how the world occurs or at least sets a time for readers to be more immersed in him, that's the proof. How lazy you have to be to make a story.

The protagonist is the most uninteresting being here, I imagined that in the first chapter there would be a construction of all your motivation, but then it ends up being foul so you don't care anymore. He thinks he has been betrayed, as people worry about their lives, they are afraid, they have a family to come back to, but no, he needs to contradict himself later with stupid thoughts, the same one who decided that someone else should flee. And when we have a development, everything about it is simply empty, there is no consequence (maybe one, but not enough) to his life, he is a wind head, who only uses a self head when in a dungeon, and only the the most predictable answers at all times, in fact all this adventure is predictable without guaranteeing a moment of real distress or difficulty for the reader.

The narrative is lazy, bad and highly expository in the action scenes, as I had said: monologues that only focus when the MC is in the dungeon, we never see that anymore, the dialogues are horrible, I seem to be reading a story where each the characters is deaf and needs to repeat the same thing all the time, when he doesn't, have it, the whole dialogues are empty that don't complement much on the journey, and the author has the audacity to insert a totally random Nietzsche text, that doesn't fit the situation was only played because the author thinks the phrase is cool, and many people consider it deep.

The characters are all bad that we can sum up in 2 words: uninteresting and unimportant, I think only 2 characters I could care about, one of them is dead because they performed properly, and their last scene was a moment of construction, the another was only shown in different environments, I doubt the author will use it again, the antagonists are bad, only 1 of them has a plausible motivation, the rest is just bad for being purely bad, the author only knows to do this idea because he needs to satisfy The fetish of seeing a cool edgy guy killing someone.

Not even the flashback moments here work for anything, it's always something expositive, and the only thing shown is the first dungeon the protagonist had, basically every conflict for MC, they insert this flashback, jesus this manga not only be without creativity but disrespectful to the reader himself, insisting on something we already understand, because this universe is so empty that he at least has no courage to show anything else, not even a memorable memory at least as interesting as possible, not even his mother dear, who is informed in the first chapter, which has become a lousy excuse for you (the reader) to care about him at the first point and then forget about her, seriously how badly written this it and often lazy again.

The development of the protagonist in the general context is acceptable, but scumbag and continuing with shallow labels, I have never hoped for a comic moment to appear in the midst of such a tense scene. I currently arrived midway through the work, the protagonist does not show an interesting image, he is totally one-dimensional that not even his relationships with secondary characters strengthen him, not even in a "melancholy or mental" situation the author can humanize the character, he repeats the same flashbacks, give the impression that this is not a story of someone who fights for the people around them, but of someone who needs to satisfy the faster leveling fetish, he seems more like a character for fujoshi to fall in love with because he's so hot and uhh so much badass.

The most positive thing I leave is cap55, the first chapter that made me laugh without being stupid about this narrative, but it's still a bad and foul story. And I don't think that can change enough, even if he does, his first part has rotted just like the protagonist's will, it's just an amateur story that doesn't even show courage in his actions, I feel like I'm seeing a bootleg of a Izumi Shinichi just repetitive, I wanted to talk more about this journey, but this empty story keeps me, that's why i don't classify this Manhwa as a good thing, and I don't think I'm just the only person thinking differently.

One Punch-Man review
Saitama is a man-turned-hero who underwent three years of extreme training. As a result, Saitama has becoming incredibly strong (and bald) and is able to end every fight with just a single punch. He thirsts for the exciting rush of combat. The problem is...he's too strong?

One Punch-Man takes a comical yet thought provoking look at strength, justice, and ambition. It's thoroughly enjoyable to watch the heroes struggle to defeat a villain just to have Saitama walk in and finish it off in one, effortless punch. His strength and his never-ending struggle to find an opponent who can survive a single punch leads him to great frustration, despite seeming to be an average guy at first.

One Punch-Man also takes on the typical good-and-evil struggle as well as the theme of ambition. Watching Saitama take Genos under his wing (although it wasn't really a choice) is interesting. The different ambitions and ideals of the heroes can lead to hilarious and thought provoking moments, be it running in fear at pathetic looking fish creatures, or refusing to help out a civilian in need, almost every little hero you see has a personality that'll make you laugh or turn your nose in disgust.

The art in One Punch-Man would probably be one of it's weaker points out of all it's strengths. It's not bad, but it's nothing to be really proud of. It's just...normal. Nothing wrong with that. What I do like about the art is that certain characters are drawn to fit their personalities. Genos is over-detailed in order to fit his dutiful and perfectionist nature. Saitama looks like he was ripped out of some poorly-drawn sketchbook in order to align with his "average" facade and for quite a bit of comical effect. Heroes and villains are drawn appropriately whether they think they're god or they're afraid of the smallest thing.

As of right now, there hasn't been a great deal of character development, but you can really see it forming at the edges. Saitama, for the most part, seems to be a static character that the story revolves around (maybe he'll find a worth opponent). Speed of Sound Sonic (mind the long name) may one day lose a bit of his ego, and Genos might realize the cowardice and pride of his peers. What do I want to see the most? Personally, I find the Saitama's struggle with his own strength to be one of the most interesting and enjoyable aspects of this manga.

I have to say that this manga is a real surprise to me. Out of the many superhero based mangas that try to beat each other, One Punch-Man effortlessly rises above the competition in a single punch. Out of the many mangas that I am following, One Punch-Man is the most entertaining and enjoyable. Anyone who is looking for a refreshing and funny manga should not hesitate to pick this up.

Fire Emblem: Kakusei Koushiki Comic review
The Fire Emblem franchise has never been exceptionally strong in the story department. Although there are a few games with a phenomenal story, most of the ones I've played have an average story. Fire Emblem Awakening is definitely one of those games. As such, how do you create a good manga from a game that does not have a great story? It'll have to be by focusing on the characters.

As mentioned before, the story in Fire Emblem Awakening is not great. However, one of its best points is its characters. This manga brings different characters from Awakening together, and presents interactions that are not seen in the game. I really enjoyed seeing the different characters interact with each other. These interactions were fun to read, and that's all there really is to it.

The art for this manga was pretty nice. Although I am not really a fan of the art-style used in this manga, it was still pretty good, and served its purpose well.

As mentioned before, Fire Emblem characters, in general, are great. Many of them have great personalities, and this manga simply develops them more. I loved seeing the various characters interact with each other, and it definitely brought me a new perspective on them. This manga gives more information on the backstory of some characters, and, overall, the characters are just really really good.

As a Fire Emblem fan, I really enjoyed this manga. Reading this is a great way to learn more about the Awakening characters, and it was simply a fun time reading this. I would definitely recommend reading this if you liked the characters of Fire Emblem Awakening. Overall, Fire Emblem: Kakusei Koushiki Comic is a really good manga, and it's simply a fun read, especially for Fire Emblem fans.

Saigo no Saiyuuki review
Saigo no Saiyuuki was one manga I really wanted to survive but unfortunately it got axed, the last chapter being number 23 which was released one day before this review.

Story: 6/10
What I imagine was the cause of Saiyuuki getting axed is it's slow beginning, it takes place in modern day and follows Ryunosuke a young boy who likes baseball. Saiyuuki is character driven for the most part so it relies a lot on the relationships the characters have and build which it does very well. What it doesn't do as well is the amount of complicated and wordy concepts it introduces, it takes heavy influence from the Chinese book "Journey to the West" which I have no experience with but I assume it's more well known in Asian cultures. Due to this I think a lot of the story may be lost to me or anyone who has no idea about this book since we can't make any parallels to the original source, that being said the story is still coherent it's just that it isn't very clear. The concepts it introduces include some really cool ones such as the way the monsters Ryunosuke fights are derived from folktales and they are manifested by people who are scared who have had their "mou" opened.By the final chapter which is basically a glimpse of what Saiyuuki could have been, we get a full picture of what the ultimate events of the story would have been. For such an abrupt end it handled it really well and effectively told us what might have happened while thematically tying everything up, it makes me sad to see such a promising story go to waste.

Art: 10 /10
I love the art in Saiyuuki! It's shaded really well and uses the use of solid gray and black tones to really elevate it's art as a whole, especially more freighting scenes where the pages is practically enveloped in black. The character designs are really cute and the come across to me as a modern interpretation of older shounen manga, I'm not sure why but I get major YuYu Hakusho vibes from it. Another great thing about the characters is how well Nonoue Sensei illustrates facial expressions, they're very emotive and some of the best I've ever seen! Fear, Sadness, Shock , Happiness ... they're all done so well and really convey the characters emotions which helps makes the more heartfelt moments be a bit more emotional. Action scenes and the creatures in this manga also look phenomenal, they're creepy and thatch reflective of what they are: Fear and scary stories. The manga is also really clean looking and laid out in a neat and intuitive way so it's easy and enjoyable to read with the bigger action spreads looking amazing! It's not the best drawn thing in the world but it has so much charm and appeals to me so much I can justify it having the maximum score.

Character: 7/10
One of it's best aspects is the characters which despite the short runtime have really cemented themselves as some of my favorites in recent memory, Ryunosuke being a young child who just wants to play baseball but can't due to various reasons is handled really well as it depicts the more selfish side of children in a way that is understandable but despite this he still does the right thing for the sake of another and while what he does is not as high stakes as other shounen protagonists for a young child he is a very admirable character. His sister Koharu is blind with 4 prosthetic limbs so she can't do much herself and proves to help characterize Ryunosuke but she herself is a bit of a plot device and while there is an attempt to get the readers to care for her she never really does much as the story presents her as something rather inhuman, with more time I could definitely see her as an interesting character. Other characters like Estelle and Ryonuske's father are also well done and offer something unique that I wish got more time to explore, but overall for the time it got the characters are interesting and well done.

Conclusion:
In my eyes Saigo no Saiyuuki was something special that presented a lot of interesting things about the human experience, facing your fears, getting over trauma and forming bonds which it illustrates masterfully. While it might not be the most exciting or action filled I definitely see in it a more serious shounen manga that would have presented some really compelling topics that we don't usually see. I recommend everyone to read it, it's short at 23 chapters and It didn't deserve to get axed, I even bought the first volume and will buy the other two despite import costs being very high and me not understanding any Japanese, I just love it that much, so please give it a try if your interested.

Why it Failed:
From what I could read through translations it wasn't received well in japan at all, as many said I think the story being so slow especially with the first 7 or so chapters taking place in a few rooms makes it hard for it to gain traction above the other series in Jump. I also feel that spectacle is often more sought out than deeper emotional moments in most cases, not that it's wrong for it to have a more emotional way of storytelling but it doesn't seem to work as well. Some of the dozens of terms it comes up with also could contribute to people not liking it since it's an investment to read, worth investing in my mind but it's often the case that people want something easier to digest. I'm happy it got published and the way Nonoue Sensei ended it was well done and handled in a way which was very respectful as if he took pride in his work even though it didn't work out in the end, I hope that he develops more and comes back with an even greater series that takes Jump by storm next time, I will wait patiently until then.

FINAL SCORE: 8/10 - Very Good

Cocytus review
COCYTUS PART
Cocytus has 2 chapters. The main characters are Shiina and Kurosaki Mineko. In her school, the students there have unspoken rule to not befriend with persons who are considering as weirdos. Alas Shiina is asked by the teacher to help the class representative, Kurosaki-san, who's belong to the weirdos-that-shouldn't-have-befriended list.

Starting from the art, this manga has very simple art. I couldn't find the background to support my poor imagining capability is decent. In so many cases, the background of it left blank with only sparkling effect to maximize the aura between the characters interaction. I can agree with the characters parts, their illustrations looked cute.
Similar to the art, the development too, is simple. It's not complex even though it can be explored more depth, the story itself and characters development. For 2 chapters, the rushing part still I could tolerate at that time because somehow I enjoyed the puppy love in the pages.

MORATORIUM PART
Moratorium part has 3 chapters, 2 main chapters and 1 chapter from another character side (still the character in this part). There are Itsuki and Mao who've been friends since so long and currently living together in a rented apartment. This part might be not too common like other yuri manga because it has less lovey-dovey scenes which is should be interesting to read since it's unique.
However, I am rather disappointing at it. The communication between those two are lack of passion and not much explained. On the surface we get the information we need about what's up. but not about what's really happening between them, that's what I felt. The timid Mao and bold Itsuki has tight connection shown in this manga that I couldn't get what kind of feeling it really is. Is it just desire to keep each other for themselves or deeper than it...still wondering.
The art itself is somewhat the same with Cocytus part. Fortunately, this school life babes (Itsuki & Mao) got their part to hang out around the city. So, we have more background than just house or school building.

Glad that I could still enjoy overall this manga that I could bravely give it 6.5 for rating.
