Solo Leveling review
Real Talk, I'm tired of seeing these "omg this manhwa is so good you should read it the story is so good and the MC is so overpowered and kicks everyone's ass in a badass way" reviews. These reviews are dumb as fuck, and they don't contribute anything. The review doesn't look at the Manhwa from a story standpoint and how well-developed characters are. When they see Sung-JinWoo pull something badass of they, say "oops, 10/10, will read again".

Ok rant over

The story isn't extraordinary—usual Weak to Strong tale that you can find everywhere. Sung-Jinwoo, A weak person, goes through a near-death experience and is handed cheat powers. Take those words into account and apply those words to all the other manga, Manhua, and Manhwas that apply that concept. Quite a lot, right? Correct, this story concept isn't original, BUT it all depends on the execution of that concept. I must say that the execution is decent at best.

Wen he gains those cheat powers he starts training because his cheat told him to. Then, he goes up 2 ranks, and he hasn't got out of the hospital yet. After that, he clears does one dungeon and he's already on par with a B-Rank hunter (If you read solo leveling you know that B to A rank hunters are nothing compared to Sung Jin-Woo, but these guys are supposed to be the Main High ranking hunters of hunter guilds, and he just became one in like, what, a month, maybe less?). He further gets cheat abilities via Job mission, defeats a Red gate boss, then when he clears a couple of floors in the Demon Dungeon, he's already barely an S rank by chapter 57. This story is just Sung-Jinwoo kicking ass but just as discreet as possible. Do I like it? Fuck yeah I love it, but that's only because I want to see Sung Jin-Woo further become stronger and see what he does in the future. Other than that, realistically this story has barely any character development. Art is a 10/10, Art is consistent, really detailed, and the story has a lot of badass moments that make you want more. That's it, nothing more, nothing less.

Btw I fucking love this Manhwa, but can't be biased with reviews.

Beck review
I remember seeing ad's for this back in the day when I'd go to the library and check out manga but I never actually bothered to give it a shot that is until today and pardon my french but MY FUCKING GOD!

Story:

Beck is a simple coming of age tale of Yukio Tanaka and the struggles he faces chasing his dream and over the course of this 30+ Vol 102 chapter read you're taken on a wild ride that'll make you feel every possible emotion under the son as they go through struggle after struggle in order to try and reach out their dreams.

This for the most part wasn't a complicated tale in all honesty but it's the simple things that matter and at no point did this not leave me wanting to take a break or stop as I found myself staying up late constantly saying one more chapter.

10/10

Art:

This is one of those areas I'm having a hard time to explain because this is an early 00's manga so the art has a certain look to it that draws inspiration from western comics with the fact that the character designs are simple but somewhat realistic if not looking kind of dated in a way that may draw some people off if they only care for newer anime which I understand does exist but even if that is the case you need to get over that because the second you see the motion of the concert scenes trust me even without the audio you'll feel something especially if you're a music person like me because just seeing the motion of a stage show on the page has a certain movement and glow to it that literally sent shivers down my spine.

Also the nods to various Album covers all through out were just a wonderful touch especially if you're a music nerd to any capacity.

8/10

Character:

Here's one of the few instances that I can think of where every single character in a story actually got just the right amount of time to grow and become something special and the ending really hammers that point home truly one of the best cast I've ever seen.

I guess if I were to point out any flaw here it'd be that I kind of wish Tanaka's and Minami's relationship would have gotten more time to really show but even so it was still a coupling I was rooting for all the way through.

10/10

Enjoyment/Overall:

I've always kind of powered through manga that's my thing and this is one of those few instances where powering through it didn't ruing the experience for me in any capacity because it was a story that I just could truly not put down I missed work because I just had to know what was going to happen next and that's not something I've been able to say about any form of literature in quite some time.

You owe it to yourself to read this story at least once it's a truly excellent coming of age tale that's just the right blend of romance, drama, comedy, and that special something that sets stories above all others and while I was hesitant to give it that perfect score after finishing it I just couldn't and since this website only deals with whole numbers I guess I have no other option that to award it such.

10/10

Hoping reading this review helps you decide if you want to pick this one up into your list. Stumbling upon this manga and finding if its worthy of your time, you'll be the judge of that.

!! THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS !!

I can't deny that the Art style of the manga grab my attention. I usually research the contents of the manga first and decide if I want to dump all my precious time reading, said manga. I say it's a worth the dump. The Art Style is good and the adorable character designs is surprisingly good. In every panel on the chapter is well drawn and the Ecchi scene is not over the top like other manga has. It doesn't ruin the mood reading the good part of the character developments.

The Character Development between Rai and Youji is quite interesting to me. Youji doesn't deny or lead misunderstanding that can ruin the relationship between them, he accept the advancement Rai do. Youji is a man of culture as well although I prefer thighs, I can't hate a fellow man of culture. This man is good man in my book. Rai on the other hand her curiosity of the Human race leads her to worship the now extinct race and slowly developing feelings towards Youji, but in the later chapter's confesses her feelings and Youji happily exchange replies. That kind of character development really surprise me while reading in the later chapter's I didn't expect that kind of relations ship development because of the Harem genre.

The only reason the readers can be annoyed because of the Male Protagonist, he is not the type that use his knowledge of his previous world or the knowledge he accumulate in his life time. Why the reason of that because he work on a Black Company on his previous world. Overwork, little time to sleep, little time to socialize because of that after transported on the other world, he just want to live laid-back peaceful life. This is the part when the readers slowly getting annoyed to our Male Protagonist because of the timid nature, foolish way of thinking and lack of knowledge of the current world leads to unsatisfied readers. Has the power and don't even bother controlling said power, in the first few volume's. Slowly but surely improving, like its very slow cause he just want's to loaf around.

Overall thoughts, the Male Protagonist is a opportunist when it come to invitation by the girls doesn't cower down and feeling virtuous in the end, I hate Male Protagonist that has Male Harem Protagonist Syndrome. Plot development of this manga can be a little iffy so better not to ponder too much. I do recommend this for the new readers because of the good dose of Ecchi and a little bit of Comedy. I like my black tea with milk while its hot.

Joou-sama no Eshi review
Hot off the heels of Kodomo no Jikan, Kaworu's artistic ability has leveled up in a big way. If you don't know the artist who penned this manga suffered a major blow, after getting a big deal with a U.S. distribution company for her pedorag mag, they suddenly pulled shelf space when the contents of the second volume were made aware.

Now imagine being in this headspace and writing something like Bakuman, you see when Bakuman was written, Obata and Oishi had already reached the pinnacle of success, not only were they jump regulars but they had reached world wide renown with their series Death Note. Kaworu sensei comes at this manga from a much more visceral place.

This manga reaches a greater depth of emotion, the protagonist is unknown to the reader due to changes in perspective and how the story champions different heroes at times. Every character is peripherally related to manga and even Kaworu herself is embodied in a character that complains about the injustice of the KnJ situation. It's written with much more anger, but there is a lot of love. Though the characters struggle and fail, the love of manga really shines through.

Though it may seem oversexualized, this is the kind of story the author wanted to write, as an answer to being banned in the U.S. the whole thing reads like a love note to KnJ with much better art and a faster pace. It's a wild ride with plenty of anime tiddy to take in along the way as gas. There is clever unexpected humor and even romance. Because Kaworu goes places others dare not to go the cliche character tropes can't be found here.

All in all 8/10 so far

tl;dr: Angry Bakuman with 2D qts
