Shingeki no Kyojin review
Attack on Titan is a masterpiece that will go down in histories that's for sure.

Honestly, before I started reading the manga nd watched the anime, I heard great things about it but because of some reason I didn't paid attention to it. But it is one of those that'll make you think why didn't I read it earlier.

Story: 10

The story absolutely phenomenal, at start everything will feel like it's going like a normal apocalypse story.. but slowly everything makes sense from the first part of the chapter as if the start was made for this kind of story to follow up, you feel shivers going down to your spine when you understand the level of writing of the story and slowly everything makes sense as it goes on. In the story of the manga the start to the end is connected. For example- While drinking tea, you drop the cup and it breaks, and you go out to buy another one, but on your way you get into an accident and die and then you wonder what if I hadn't fallen the cup or gone another way, I would've been have been alive.. ( kh.. example over, I hope it doesn't happen to you. ). But the manga is going to end in April and I can't wait.

Art : 8

Honestly, I am not that big of a person fan of Aot art, like I don't hate it nor do I like it, but it is a fact that because of the art you can feel the story more, it feels as if this kind of art was destined or meant to be used in this manga, even though the built up is so unreal, due to it's give a very realistic vibe that you can't deny, the art truly depicts the feeling of the characters in the manga, it's as if there was another kind of art, the story would feel like a big joke, but with this kind of art, it feels as if titans truly exist.. ( just kidding )

Character : 9

I love the characters of AOT, the goddamn characters of this manga are hella fire, their development is SSS-tier. We get to know about each character in-depth, their mental state, like we get to understand the perspective of each character.
From going from a revenge manic to the godlike demon is absolutely horrifying, in terms of character development and coolness and their story I believe Eren to be the best main protagonist of the year.. like man wherever he goes he can't find freedom, so in last there is nothing but destruction.

Overall, this is very enjoyable manga, I recommend it to everyone, this is an complete banger of a manga...

keep moving forward, because there is nothing left for you to look back at other than regret, sins and suffering.

attack on titan's essence to me is what iam going to say next:

fighting for survival in pursuit of a dream. sustained by your ideals and the people you care about. but the world is cruel and unfair. It's all just one big cycle of hate, pain and suffering. repeating itself over and over. no one is safe, everyone is caught up in this insane maelstrom of seething rage and struggle for survival. your life might just get snuffed in an instant. all your worth and and everything you ever dedicated your heart to will disappear. Youll cease to exist. only your comrades will remember you. maybe in a way youll still live on, as a reminder of what was and what should be. maybe your death was a good thing? you're free now. you are free from this hell. all the burdens you shouldered are lifted. no more sins to atone for, no more dreams to sacrifice for and most importantly no more life to struggle to keep. attack on titan starts off as a story simply drenched in black and white, but as the series progresses the colors mix, capturing the complex morality and nature of humans. the series paints most of its characters in a shade of grey. this is what truly makes attack on titan amazing. all of this sets up stage for some of the greatest action scenes, morally complex dilemmas and most importantly the amazing character arcs and development that keep you attached hopefully till the very end.

things i learned from attack on titan:

we are all the same. no one is perfect. we're all sinful in one way or another. i dont think people will ever really understand one another. simply cuz of perspectives. well you see, to FULLY understand something one has to have ALL of the truth. but no one will ever have that, not unless you can view things from everyone's perspective or the other person's perspective. your own perspective or anyone's perspective in general are narrow little windows in which you view an ENTIRE WORLD. TRUTH will never be reached by anyone really. you can argue that people can talk it out or strive to understand each other but there is no guarantee that whatever insight youre gonna get is the TRUTH. maybe its just some "truth" thats being told to satisfy a false sense of curiosity or to shut you up. i said FALSE sense of curiosity cause no one genuinely wants to understand the other. we're just satisfied with our narrow viewpoint on everything. maybe we feel superior for being different or something idk tbh. i personally have struggled to understand people myself. anyways attack on titan's main weapon is PERSPECTIVES AND THE TRUTH. nothing is ever as simple as it initially seems in attack on titan AND I LOVE THAT SOOO MUCH MAN.

to conclude, i really just love attack on titan and i wish that whoever initially dismissed it as being OVERHYPED OR OVERRATED re-consider and give it another go with an open mind. Attack on titan will shock you , make you happy, make you sad and just make you experience just about every emotion there is in the wide spectrum of emotions. READ OR WATCH ATTACK ON TITAN.

4-punkan no Marigold review
First Review for this manga (as the user who submitted this manga to the MAL database) and my first review:

Marigold - Flower meaning "Sadness and Desperation of Parting", but also "Life"
4 minutes - The golden time limit to save a person whose breath stopped, where survival chance is still beyond 50%.

These explanation of title keywords largely shape the atmosphere of the manga:
A sad-yet-heartwarming story on love how to face death, which a romance-avoiding reader like myself can enjoy and relate to.

----Detailed Review Below -----

Story: 10

As an ambulanceman, Mikoto's has inevitable encounters with different realistic people on the verge of life and death throughout the story. Through the down-to-earth encounters, readers are brought into discussions of different attitudes towards death. These realistic (certainly not grand and flashy) stories build up strong persuasion for how different people react to death (especially to the death of their close ones), shaping Mikoto's reflections on Sara's destined death. In turn, readers like myself usually feel sad for characters' loss of loved ones, but also invited to remember the love of their loved ones, and to treasure the happiness of being with them. A heartwarming story on reacting to death indeed.

Art: 9
One of the reasons I started to read this manga is the art style standing out from conventional mangas. As you can probably observe, rather than traditional Japanese manga style with sharp face features, the art style tends towards sketches, where proportion of features are more realistic. This fits well with the calm and tranquil atmosphere conveyed by the story itself. Shadows traditionally observed in still life drawings are removed to keep the art simple, fitting with the story.

In addition, flowers like marigold are depicted well thanks to the strong sketching/ still llife techniques of the mangaka.

Characters: 9
All characters are gentle and bring in realistic concerns, fitting well with the story. Conversations are mainly used to shape characters, especially monologues of Mikoto, which makes him gentle yet relatable to readers. Along the story, you do pray for the happiness of characters, especially Mikoto and Sara.

Enjoyment: 9
Tranquil yet heartwarming story shows me a way to accept death in a less pessimistic way, and shows the importance of treasuring the time with your loved ones now. As a usual reader of seinen and shounen manga, I occassionally find this work slightly slow-paced, but it's justified in the story context.

Overall: 9
(Read my Enjoyment part)
Do not get turned off if you are used to fast-paced stories like me. It's just 27 chapters, why not give yourself a break for a life lesson on death?

Kagome Kagome review
Now here’s something novel – take a bunch of school kids, stick them together in a club, give them a bunch of adventures and then stick a love triangle on top of that. Ok, I was being sarcastic – let’s face it, it’s a theme that’s been so well trodden over time, the carpet’s worn through to the floorboards. However, that’s not to say that Yui doesn’t try his best to bring something new to the genre and in a way he has, ending up with an enjoyable little romp.

Personally, I like the use of the two opposing Kagome’s (that's their first names by the way) – Nishino who wants to see ghosts and can’t and Kasuga who can see them and really doesn’t want to, nor does she want to be a part of the club. That is until she lays eyes on Masami and sees him as a potential solution to her problem. You see - how does one say this politely – Kasuga’s ability so see spirits rests upon the fact (as with all good miko) that she’s still a maiden. Should she lose her maidenhood, then in theory, she’ll lose the ability too. Hence her *ahem* interest in Masami, who is of course, holding a flame for Nishino and thus isn’t quite as responsive as she’d like. The last thing Nishino wants, of course, is for Kasuga to lose her skills, as she’s the club’s only link to the spirit world, and this leads to an amusing interplay between the three protagonists during the tale.

As for the rest of the story, well it’s fairly typical stuff, as Masami finds himself first haunted by the disembodied head of his dead mother (Freud would have a field day with him, methinks), and the hunt for the source and solution to the mystery takes off at breakneck speed. It’s generally well done and covers the whole gamut from creaking cupboard doors, possession to long forgotten, creepy shrines and family secrets. The story becomes fairly involved, as more secrets are revealed surrounding Masami’s family, as well as the ties that bind the two Kagome’s together. It does, sadly, get a bit far-fetched as the story progresses, especially once Masami becomes aware of his own “powers,” but I guess that’s to be expected from a shounen-esque storyline, although Yui more than compensates with a refreshingly surprising ending.

Something else that surprised me – artistic philistine that I am – was how much I enjoyed his character design and artwork. The girls’ designs in particular convey a sense of spunkiness, exuberance and fun and I must confess (at the risk of sounding like a dirty old man) that that played a large part in me picking up and running with this particular manga. Yui’s also not afraid to switch repeatedly from ”normal” to “deformed” character styles, using it to great effect to enhance the comedic moments.

At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a fun little story that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but manages to bring a little something new to a well-tried formula, Kagome Kagome is an enjoyable, and short, read.

Koi Tomurai review
I read this on a whim when i found it using a site's "surprise me" button. It's only one volume, so if you're looking to occupy yourself for a while then you may want to consider other manga, but if you don't mind short stories then this could be one for you.

The volume is broken up into six individual stories, each having something to do with romance and/or the supernatural. One or two are a bit shorter than i'd have liked and don't really fully explain anything with regard to the plot or characters, however the rest are all in some way very sweet.

With each story being so short, there isn't a lot of time to develop the characters, so you're introduced to them in one fell swoop and get to see how one event affects their personalities. Despite this, i found that for the most part the characters were very enjoyable and each is likable in some way; many are characters that you can easily relate to.

The artwork in the actual panels of the manga isn't as pretty or as detailed as that of the cover, but this isn't really an issue, firstly because a manga uses the cover as a lure anyway and second because the artwork inside is still of a good quality. Besides how many manga actually have the same level of artwork inside and out? Not many that i've seen anyway.

Overall i rated this a seven. I think some more stories would be a good idea, and perhaps one or two coud have been better written, but for the most part it was an enjoyable read that i would read again in the future.

Akatsuki ni Tatsu Lion review
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS

I wonder: when will I ever stop falling on the trap of incestuous plot? When will it stop waiting for me in the bushes and then sneak attack when I'm least expecting it? Do I have to just NOT read anything with siblings or what????

~sigh~

So. Akatsuki ni Tatsu Lion is about an orphaned sister whose brother left her to do some activism on Turkey. Cool. Except one of the guys from his group is murdered and the police highly suspect of him. Not cool.

So there his sister goes, to Turkey, to figure out a way to acquit his brother from such a crime and to, well, figure out where he is ('cause he's missing). Sounds interesting enough but then the manga does everything possible in its power to screw it up.

1) The plot

Fast forward through some action/thriller scenes, someone's trying to kill her, there's an actual mystery in place here and this COULD have been an excellent manga just from that alone. It didn't need a romantic subplot, but well, this is a shoujo, after all.

The problem is: it's a really short story. When the plot starts to pick up, it's already over. We find out who's the killer, what happened to the brother, what was going on, etc etc.

Almost as if the mangaka wanted it to be over already, so she rushed everything into 3 (!) chapters. (the fourth is just a bonus and it has nothing to do with the story).

2) The romance

The romance subplot wasn't even necessary, in the first place. And in the second place: it's barely even developed!!!

She meets a guy from her brother's group and he helps her around. He's a native, he's handsome, he's kind to her and he's kind of mysterious. That's... all, really.

Their entire time together is spent trying to solve the "mystery" of the brother and trying to get a clue as to where he is. And then, out of NOWHERE, in the end they kind of get together because the guy had a crush on her.

Uhmmmm???? He doesn't even know her???? His knowledge of her comes from the brother (who never shuts up about her) and then from the short (really short!) time they were together scooby doo'ing around. That's honestly not enough of a reason for me to buy that "crush" thing.

And now, I saved the worst for last:

3) The incest

She talks WAY too much about her brother. Like, way more than siblings should. There's even a flashback of her as a kid and him as a teenager, and she says "big brother, I want to marry you when I grow up!"

...

Well, okay. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, maybe this is just harmless sisterly love because her parents died and her brother is her only family and she really holds him dear. Maybe at that age, she didn't know what she was saying. Okay.

Except the brother's girlfriend comes up in the end and tells her about how jealous she was of her, because the dude also wouldn't shut up about his dear little sister.

Well, okay. Maybe the girlfriend is just as paranoid as I am, maybe the dude is just really overprotective of his sister since, AGAIN, they only had each other. That's not enough of a reas--

"He was IN LOVE with you, Erina!! His own sister!!! That's disgusting!"

It really is revealed that he had romantic feelings for his sister. It's not just something spit out in anger, it's truthfully a part of the story. And then after everything else is said and done, the sister goes and says:

"Yeah, I was in love with him too. But it's okay, we weren't """"""""real""""""" siblings, we were children of separate marriages."

How-- how is that okay? How is that even REMOTELY okay? What? So just because you're only HALF related to blood, it's cool? Or just because you're not related to blood at all, it's also cool?

Bitch, no lol nothing about this is okay. I was right all along, this smelled of surprise incest since the beginning and yet I still thought I was just being silly.

The only good thing about this manga (and the only reason why I don't give it a lower score) is the art. The mangaka is VERY talented, the art is very beautiful to look at. But this specific manga isn't worth your time. It could've been better developed and it definitely didn't need the incestual tones.

Negima!? Neo review
If you want to read Negima... then I recommend reading the actual Negima.

STORY: This version of Negima is loosely based on the original Mahou Sensei Negima! and the second anime Negima!?

I use word loosely because, it follows the gist of the intire Negima!? anime's storyline for half the manga's chapter span, then it starts using (not many) elements and events that happen after the first 6 volumes worth of chapters from the original manga series.
It's interesting to the say the least, like if you ever wondered what would happen if the Negima!? anime continued for a second season, then this manga would be the closest answer to that question.

The first thing this Negima does is do something that the other versions do not (Even the original manga). By starting off when Negi is trying to pass his exam to become a wizard by doing a prologue, chapter zero. This does bring alot of promise to this version.
However... Just like the two anime series, this version of Negima spends the majority of it's chapters with mostly no continuing plot focused on the 30 girls whom the 10 year old teacher magician main protagionst, Negi Springfield, teaches, with one to three girls being the main topic of each of those chapters.
These chapters range from interesting to extremely boring and even awkard or pointless time wasting stories that no one would give a damn about (For example: one chapter is spent on two of the girls shopping for lingerie because they felt immature, seriously, would anyone be the least bit interested in this?).

But unlike the two anime versions, this version has two characters that had not appeared except in the original manga and the OVA series. Negi's childhood friend, Anya. And his friendly rival, Kotaro. In my honnest opinion, Kotaro's introduction is actually the best part of this manga, showing actual development of their rivalry, although his appearance is random (and is during one of the pointless chapters).
Unfortunately however, the same can not be said for Anya, infact she ends up being one of the most annoying characters who constantly wines about her breast size and does slap stick routines when Negi does something to irritate her. Another character makes his way into the manga near the end, but his inclusion isn't even worth speaking of because of how poorly it is handled compared to the original version of that character, and of course the ending is your generic harem ending (If you don't know what kind of ending that is, then you have never read/watched a harem or ecchi anime/manga).

Other than that, most of the character remain the same as they were in the other adaptations, so most fans who have seen any other version would not get annoyed by different personalities or completely out of character moments (Just only Anya's whining).

ART: Nothing special, just tries to make every character look cute or moe, but the character designs look all the same besides their hair.
There are some battles drawn out okay, but it lacks alot of the attention to detail, the great background art, and the style the original manga has. But there's plety of ecchi scenes...

OVERALL:
The Good:
+ Kinda continues where the second anime leaves off.
+ If you're into ecchi, there's a lot to be found...

The Bad:
- The majority of the chapters are a waste of time.
- Lack luster art compared to the source material.
- Anya.
- The ecchiness is a little more creepier than the original.
- No real continuing plot to actually speak of.
- Completely out of nowhere and very disappointing ending, your typical ecchi/harem ending pretty much.

It's still negima, but I reccomend reading or sticking to the original manga instead.
But if you're interested in a different story of Negima or you only read Negima for the ecchi moments, then go ahead and read this one, and watch the girls buy lingerie or other pointless crap that would even bore Lucky Star fans.

INU NEKO JUMP review
Inu Neko Jump is not primarily a sports manga. It's also a romance and a comedy - hard to pull off altogether, huh? Well, this manga did it well.

The story was decent -- a retired high-school long jumper goes to college where he meets a lot of weird people (on the track team that he doesn't want to join) and meets one special person who forces him to jump again and make him realize his talents again, even if that's not her intention. It's touching, it's funny. But it won't bring you to your knees in tears or leave you wanting an encore especially bad. When it's over, it's over and you say "That was a nice manga," and move onto the next.

The art was definitely questionable. Personally, it didn't bother me. But it could prove to be a turn-off to some people. For one thing, it's very cartoonish and many of the characters all have the same eyes. It can be confusing at times. The scenery was pretty excellent, though. The mangaka's characters are cutely short and squat (save a few characters maybe) and make them all look huggable. Especially the protagonist, Ozu.

Character for this manga rested strongly on Ozu and Yuki. Ozu's a pretty mellow character who has all this pent-up energy that he should be using on long jump (his and Yuki's--when he was a child anyway--was to orbit the earth). He's a bit of a push-over, and can sometimes be a little exaggerated in character. Sometimes his character contradicts himself, by being cool and confident and other times his personality is that of a nerdy otaku.

Yuki is afraid of people (thus wears headphones all the time), but she's bold when with Ozu. A bit crazy, she made a mistake of thinking Ozu stole her virginity thirteen years before. When they're together, she talks to him. She makes a bit of a pet of Ozu, and gets extremely jealous when other girls are with him. This leads to dislike of Watsuki, a girl that Ozu went to high school with. Together, though, as Ozu regains his spirit for the sport and Yuki learns to actually connect with a person, they have a fantastic dynamic.

Overall, I'd recommend this manga to someone who wants a lighthearted romance manga with a slight rekindling of the spirit.
