Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou review
The waves find their way past the shining streetlights and crash onto the eroding street. There's someone watching, a figure made to look, act and feel human. Here she stands, taking in this beautiful sight. There's no hurry, she's already closed her shop. There probably wouldn't be any customers anyway...

This is the setting of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (YKK), a calm beautiful and post apocalyptic slice of life manga.

Story(10/10): YKK is the journey of Alpha Hatsuseno, a human like robot, through the "twilight age of humanity". Human civilization is in decline. Sea levels have risen and once big cities became small towns or were abandoned completely. Alpha lives alone in the countryside, her next neighbors live a few kilometers away. Waiting for the return of her owner, she takes care of the house and runs a coffee shop. People come there just to see her. She has developed a habit of sitting down next to her customers to chat and drink coffee with them. However the shop is located in the middle of nowhere, so only a few customers visit each week. Because of this, Alpha has a lot of free time and ends up spending much of it with her neighbors or roaming through the countryside.
Throughout YKK's story, we learn more about the mysterious world, the robots and their development and accompany Alpha and her friends through years of living and growing up in the countryside.
The story is not great because of any exciting things happening, but because of the care for detail and the perfect pacing.

Characters(10/10): Alpha is a multilayered, realistic, yet interesting and unique character. She's more of a human with a few robotic properties than the other way around. These robotic properties were implemented in an astonishingly brilliant way. While reminding of their robotic origin, they're often used to instead emphasize their fundamentally human abilities to feel and to imagine. This results in Alpha and the other robots having a uniquely different but still "human" perception of the world. Alpha is one of the best protagonists to be seen in manga and anime.
The side characters also don't disappoint. They're all likable, interesting and understandable in their actions.

Art(10/10): Not only is it exceptionally beautiful, but the art is also used as a way to communicate large parts of the story itself. This manga doesn't use a lot of words and instead decides to use the strengths of its medium to the fullest extend. This results in a unique, calm and subtle way of story telling.

Enjoyment(10/10): There's no feeling quite like reading YKK. It is interesting, beautiful and relaxing in a way that'll have you starve for more. Even after reading it, its mystery and themes will keep you thinking for a while.

Overall(10/10): It feels wrong giving this a 10 in every category, as nothing, not even YKK, is perfect. However with this manga everything fits together so well and the strength outweigh any flaws, that you could only find with a magnifying glass, by a large margin. While it's not something everyone will like, YKK does what it sets out to do almost flawlessly.

Hajime no Ippo review
For the part of the manga up until the anime covers, I would give a rating of nine-point something.Let's call this the good part, for the rest of the review. This series HAD some of the best character development and thrilling action with the right amount of good comedy mixed in. It was almost a masterpiece. Then the train keeps on going off track many number of times and gets really frustrating. All the logic and realism behind fights is lost and we lose on the action prospect of the manga. There is no sense of progression in the MC's skills at this point as really small things disrupt his ability to perform well. I don't understand the intentions of the author as he seemed to develop the character to be more skillful. But looking at these fights we see that the skill is all lost and it all comes to GUTS.This is the same bull that many other shounen manga and anime has put out. I understand the part bravery and not giving up plays in winning. But that alone would never guarantee a win. A really good main character who was skillfully developed to be a great boxer was deprived of his skill in the later episodes and it all came down to the so-called GUTS.This might not seem like a very big issue but this decision completely destroyed the thrill which I got from the fights in the good part. Fights in the bad part always turn out to be a slug fest as our protaganist withstands with GUTS and destroys his opponents with his magical punch. The action part of the manga is really bad in the bad part of the manga. Next let's talk about characters. As i had mentioned earlier this show had some excellent character development in the good part. Very few anime/manga come close to the level of the character development shown in this manga. The characters don't just have a backstory, they have very good and interesting backstories (sometimes). Even the MC had a really good character development as an underdog rising to the top. But as usual the in other part of the manga this falls apart. The newly introduced characters do come with short backstories but the already developed characters kind of fall short even though they were interesting in the beginning.Takamura becomes a jerk.Ippo becomes a loser who always thinks others are better than him and he will get up as long as he can.His confidence is removed from his character(He sees the characters he has already defeated as people he can't defeat).Miyata becomes ignorant.Aoki and Kimura become ______.Well they are just there.I was really disappointed with how Ippo's character developed. The thing that made the Ippo-Miyata interactions so damn interesting in the good part was that they both saw each other's as rivals. This changed in the bad part.Ippos now sees Miayata as an Idol, someone he thinks can't defeat, he is just satisfied to fight with him. This is another bull the author has pulled on us.There goes character development. Now let's come to the weakest part of the manga.I will not separate this into the good part and the bad part as I believe a story should be seen as a whole. An ingenious beginning doesn't mean that a bad ending can be forgiven.Don't read any furthur if you don't want spoilers but I think you should read ahead even if they are spoilers because you would feel pretty disappointed, disheartened, betrayed if you found out this part from the manga. Well here it goes if you decided to read along. After 1200 chapters, Ippo breaks with no chance of a comeback. If there is a comeback at all, then it would be a shitty one. Because it's not the spirit that is broken, it's not the skill that is broken, It's his body.It can't be reversed.Even Ippo knew it.Before he broke completely Ippo wanted to show the completed Dempsey Roll to everyone. But he breaks before he can. This is absolutely a very bad path to follow and end things, especially so for a manga this long. It's over there is no come back. This manga can't have a decent ending. One thing the manga does good is with the comedy. It never gets old and keeps up until the end.

The review is over.Thank You for reading through if you did.A small footnote before I leave.I heard the author of this manga is very sick.I pray for his fast recovery. This is just a speculation but Ippo might be a personification of the author himself. He may be suggesting that no matter how much enthusiastic he is, he can't keep up with his old self with a broken body.Well that is just a speculation though.

One of the best value Rom-Com manga (in terms of time investment) I've ever met. 29 Ch and it'll make you feel all warm and fussy.

Ch.27's title spells out the core concept of this Manga
"Laughter, is an invention by the animal on this earth that feels hurt the most"
"笑いとは、地球上で一番苦しんでいる動物が発明したものである"

A very short and wonderful, heart warming, romantic tragicomedy. One thing it did better than many others is that it didn't over stayed it's welcome. It's not much time investment and it more than worth it to get to the very end.

If you have cared about someone that you are willing to do anything for them, but could not figure out what to do.
If you know that someone is trying their best to do everything for you, but what they did is just not what you want at this moment.
If you know how bitterly sweet that is, THIS is for you.

If you dont, eh, it'll still be a fun read

It may not have the most stunning art, or the deepest of stories. But I absolutely adore this couple and the interaction between the two.

It did felt like the writer ran out of jokes and ended the story early but I am very glad it did. At the end of the day it's a very heart warming romcom so I wasn't left broken, but DAMN that feels truck hits hard when it did.

Unfortunately to my knowledge there isn't an English translation for this Manga yet. However if you can understand some basic Japanese and have access to this wonderful Manga, I do encourage you to give it a go.

Lastly, for those who are interested but needs a little more persuasion. Go search for the cover art of the 3rd published Vol. If you resonate with that tearing smile then this is a must read.

AKAZUKIN ELIZA review
This one-shot was a nice, cute, light read. It is a parody of Little Red Ridinghood, with a different setting (e.g., there is no "big, bad wolf" and the main character is an older, more attractive girl), that I actually like more than the childish original story. Eliza's grandmother is very strong compared to the one in the kids' version, which is my only complaint of this manga, as she has the body of a buffed man who will not let any boy go near her granddaughter, though the reason for that is explained in the end, which gives the author props. Eliza lives with her mother and brings soup to her grandma, who lives in the woods, everyday. Come to think of it, that makes me wonder why she cannot date guys at her place or when going out. Oh, well, it has been a while since I read it anyway.

The specific features of Akazukin Eliza: most of the characters are drawn well, with the heroine being easy on the eyes; the story has a nice conclusion with no cliffhangers; I would read more chapters, which is a good sign of any title, for their readers to want more, despite having a nice ending; the characters' personalities remain consistent and lovable, with them having good interaction with one another, as well as logical reactions to situations; a healthy amount of fan-service is present, though I would not complain if there were more.

All in all, this a wonderful manga to keep in your collection, and it is short, so even if you end up hating it, not much of your time will be taken. Personally, it is one of my favorites. I do not judge a title by its length, but by its content, and I hope you do the same. If you are looking for a fun, light-weight, high-quality little read, then this one-shot, Akazukin Eliza, is the right manga for you.

Dekiai Paradox review
Dekiai Paradox (Blind Love Paradox) is a Shoujo, Smut, Romance, Drama about an odd love triangle. It has the overused “hates him, but falls in love with him” plot, so you will either love or hate this short manga.

Yet another shoujo manga where all the girls idolise the school prince (Kaoru Renjou), but being the odd one out, our heroine (Yumi Amakawa) has a thing for his uptight childhood friend (Yukito Kokonoe). Like always in these types of shoujo manga, the sadistic prince acquires an interest in our sweet little heroine and a twisted love triangle ensues. Sure this is an overused plot; nonetheless it is overused because it’s interesting. It would have been much better if the outcome wasn’t so predictable.

It also would have been better if the characters weren’t so stale. Yumi is your typical timid girl that only realizes her true feelings a bit late and the only two guys that appear are decent but more time was spent developing one and not the other. These three are what make up the weird love triangle, which is of an unrequited love and an unwanted love. Other characters are either unimportant or non-existent.

I would like to say this manga has nice, detailed artwork to redeem itself however there’s nothing truly outstanding about the way it looks, apart from the cover.

Overall Dekiai Paradox had potential but this particular love triangle plot is so common that it turned out being cheesy. This is really only meant for someone who’s really into love triangles but there are much better ones out there.

100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru review
A bit of a foreword: At the time of writing, only six chapters are available through fan scanlations. Kodansha is publishing it digitally in English fortunately, and hopefully they continue to, so seek those out if you want to read. The review is somewhat short. But it’s only for the first 29 chapters. Through this review, I just wanted to introduce others because this doesn’t to seem be very popular.

This is one of the better-planned and well-written “transported to another world” manga (not exactly isekai, though they too are included in any comparisons I make). No doubt about it. Fan of that genre? Go ahead and read it. If you’ve lost trust after reading the countless other sad excuses of shitpiles that infest the manga world right now, this one might just be the saving grace of the genre for you.

Without going into spoiler territory, essentially, heroes are repeatedly summoned and returned from ‘another’ world after progressively difficult rounds with the party size incrementing each round and the peace of their own world (city?) dependent on their success. The systems of summoning, leveling, revival, jobs, and the flow of time are somewhat unique. I did feel that a plot device was used only once, but it is easy to see the extent of thought the author (it’s an author/artist combo) put into this story of his. The afterwords are always worth a read, no matter how wordy they are. While throughout the first volume the system seems somewhat shallow, and certain elements unexplained, it gets sufficiently fleshed out gradually, sometimes through those afterwords. The main characters themselves are also somewhat more bearable than your typical tropes and from what I can tell, it is likely that they will grow out of their base molds in future volumes completely. That still doesn’t mean they can’t be infuriating though. Especially one bespectacled JK I’d rather not focus too much on.

While I implied that the characters can be somewhat trope-y, the MC is anything but. I can’t quite put my finger on his personality yet, but he’s somewhat conflicting in nature (which can/may be good). At one point, you’ll see him declaring himself a misanthrope, and then later on you’ll see him behave absolutely buddy-buddy with his countryside hometown friends. It is stated early on that his beef is somewhat only with city people, but then his ‘I despise humans’ doesn’t make much sense. It isn’t angst though, and the MC is definitely likable and his logic understandable, if a bit confused. Regardless, I’m interested in seeing how the author deals with him coming to terms with saving the people he hates in future volumes. We haven’t seen as much of the other characters yet but they also exhibit such potential in terms of depth. The interactions between the main party more often than not are really good, though, and I increasingly feel it’s an innate flaw of the medium itself, sometimes I did find it generic.

The ‘NPCs’ also have some good characterization and, surprisingly, growth that is partially forced by the accelerated flow of time in the other world. Said flow also leads to some interesting world building and character choice consequences as well. Like I said, well-planned and well-written. In terms of romance, there is nothing between the main party yet, but it’s funny that our ‘misanthropic’ hero manages to make two NPC girls fall in love with him. It is definitely sad realizing that their love for MC will never pan out but it is treated satisfactorily (I am hopeful that some romance eventually develops between the main two. Can’t see it yet tho). And I use the term NPC for ease here, not to say they feel any less real and the term doesn't do them justice. There are quite a few such side characters who I think are better than one or two of the actual main cast. Now that can be good or bad depending on the way you look at it.

While at first blush the art is not very pretty, it definitely flows well. The actions sequences are really good with some heavy gore. Character designs, especially enemies, are varied which is enough for me to say that the art is good.

So there, it’s a good story, with a good mc, good side characters (except one out of many) and is very enjoyable. I binge read it in a single night and what do you know, its 6 AM in the morning (thankfully, on a Sunday). There is absolutely no reason you shouldn’t give this a try. It might not be breaking grounds, but it is definitely very good at what it is and a welcome breath of fresh air in a very saturated genre.

Domestic na Kanojo review

Domestic na kanojo is a 226chapter (currently) walking time bomb, it’s a show where anything that can go wrong will not only go wrong but it will cause critical dmg to everything in a 40km radius. The show is packed with plot twist and intense drama plus a few other moments that give this show its beauty or its doom. To be honest domestic na kanojo is a manga that will either be a hit or a miss, there is no grey ground in this case. Meaning that you will either love everything about it or want to burn the entire manga collection and then remove that ashes from the face of the earth. To start it off I would like to first get into the characters of the show, main cast to be more specific.
CHARACTERS
Natsuo Fujii is probably one of if not the dumbest characters you will ever meet. His lack of determination has brought the show to its knees but also is the main reason why the show has so much drama in it. He constantly keep switching between his love interest which not only shakes up the manga to the core and makes it impossible to make in solid ground on which the manga can stand, it keeps fuelling the never ending war of who the best girl is. He is an aspiring writer that tries to make it big in the world by writing novels. Using his own experiences as the Muse for writing his work and sometimes learns from the mistakes he made ( but mostly he just forgets). He is portrayed as a charismatic and dependable person that is also hardworking when its needed. But mostly he just does what is needed to avoid any type of uncomfortable situations with other people since he cant actually make a decision without thinking it over for 3 years. But as incomplete as he is, he does help others as much as he can no matter on how it may reflect on him

Rui Tachibana one of the sweethearts of the show. Rui is a cold Kuudere that doesn’t show of a lot of emotions in the begging and like every other kuudere she warms up to Nat as the show progresses.
SPOILERS
since rui gets most of her development later in show in the begging she seems very normal and not that emotional considering the fact that she slept with Natsuo. Later in the manga she decides to become a chef and works as much as possible towards that dream. Rui is probably the most normal character in the entire domestic na kanojo show, which is no surprised since she does have the same char design as one of the characters from Sasuga Kei's (the author) previous manga. Her personality is pretty stable and she acts like any normal person would from situation to situation. She knows what she wants and during her time while being with Natsuo we get to see this sweet and caring side of her, with a lot of emphasis on her feelings like lust, fear, despair, jealousy, happiness and so on. Overall a pretty stable char that has a slow and healthy pacing (except for that first part when she slept with Natsuo) when it comes to building up her relationship with natsuo.
Hina Tachiban is probably my least favourite character of the show. Ofc that’s just my personal opinion but I find most problems that come from this show are cause of Hina and Natsuo themself. Hina is Rui’s older sister but only in age. And what I mean by that is that Hina is an immature 27 year-old alcoholic that has the brain of a 14 year old girl reading shouju mangas. She doesn’t put much thought in her actions and they mostly end up badly for either her or more people. She is a teacher at Natsuo's and Rui'a school teaching English and for a teacher a person that Is supposed to guide other people to success Hina cant even grasp her own life. She lives with her mother and sister even though she has a stable job and is actually 27. She is dating a married man and during this time she will cheat on him with natsuo. Her love for natsuo is unexplained when it comes to why they fell in love and is described as unconditional, which makes no sense since Hina was dating Shuu for a long time, and natsuo was one of her students who was probably 16 at the time they met. Now these two will have their relationship and it will be discovered and will lead to hina having to move out of the house. Where she will teach in another city while getting drunk at night and going to work the next morning, sadly this alcoholism isn’t caused by the breakup, hina was always a drunk and has always had a problem with alcohol she just seems to be ignore It. Later in the manga she will be allowed to come back after a few years when she Is supposed to be matured and evolved pass this childish behaviour. But she doesn’t and just pretends she has her feelings under control.

The side characters of the show are well built and designed with most of them having their own goals and aspirations and they get treated properly in their own arcs of the manga. Plus they are shown after the main characters finish school and are brought back in a later stage with their own accomplishments and stories do them and with different relationships that have evolved/devolved during the time they were away.

Manga
Story
This is where the manga kind of wields a double edged sword where It makes it good but also ruins it. The entire manga is a click bait. The drama is constant and every chapter will make you wait for the next chapter like a kid waiting to open a present on Christmas or it will give you more of a reason to hate the show. While I enjoy the show and plot twist are constant and sometimes cliché and plain stupid at the moments will either make you like this manga or break your interest to read it. Like every story Domestic na kanojo has good moments and bad moments the good thing about this story is that you honestly don’t know is smth a good moment or a bad one. Cause the plot twist are often and they are on a large scale after a while you lose this sense of it actually being impactful. But that is a double edged sword as well.
What I honestly can commend Sasuga Kei for is the constant progression of the story, even with all this drama and problems it shows a realistic aspect of humans where they put all of that besides when going into public and tend to deal with the problems ourselves without wanting to confide into anyone. The plots are sometimes ground breaking and genius but some are also so dumb that it makes no logical sense that the author did it on purpose for example the arc where the manga literally turned into Breaking Bad.
The actual plot of the manga which is incest is not handled properly or more to say not discussed to the amount it should. Characters mostly shrug off the whole problem which in a romantic way makes sense the whole “we are in love thing”, but then again it’s not smth so trivial that can be handled like that. Incest (and I know that they are blood related and all) is not some out of the box topic or smth that is new or innovative, but most shows avoid this topic cause it’s really hard to work with and will cause backlash no matter how well it’s done or how well its treated.
The manga later leaves the whole love triangle topic where each of the characters have their own stories and own problems which is also a nice touch.
ART
The art of domestic na kanojo is simply amazing the char are well drawn and there is a nicely decorated background most of the time. The male char are mostly buffed which I find weird but the girls are done amazing their facial expressions are never stale or stiff and their body figure Is done properly
OVERALL OPINON AND RATING
As I said domestic na kanojo is a hit or miss so you will either love it or hate it but I will try to keep my ratings as objective as possible since I enjoyed the manga. Would I recommend this show 100% yes. But read the first 30 chapters, and if you like it you will love the rest of the show if you dont like it then just drop it cause it wont get better for you .
