One Piece review
This is the first review I'm writing in this website so far, so please, don't judge my grammar.
One Piece is the best-selling manga series in all history. I'm not the kind of people who care about "the more people read something, the better it is", but this fact at least shows us this manga is worth some shit.
Yes, it really is.
One Piece is a part of the team of the successful shonens of the third millenium, amongst Naruto, Bleach and currently Fairy Tail and Toriko, now that Naruto is finished. Nevertheless, One Piece is someway different from them. But why?
First of all, there's a question in a need to be answered: what makes a good shonen? I think most people would answered "comedy, adventure and action". One Piece definitively has it. The amount of characters in the story makes it stand in a rather unique ground. Every fighter have different abilities, different weaknesses. And the comic situations Eiichiro Oda create are just hilarious. But the real thing that makes One Piece unique among the others long-running shonens is: It is not just one story. Every arc is different, each one has a specific story to tell, a specific pack of characters to present, all of them with its exquisite characteristics and motivations. The Alabasta arc is completely different from the CP9 arc, which is completely different from the Marineford arc (just to make some examples).
But it is the time when I come to talk something about the story. Not too much, just a preamble.
One Piece tells the story of a person named Monkey D. Luffy. He is a good fellow who wants to be a pirate. But not the usual kind of pirate, the ones who steal, put some homes on fire and murder. He wants to be a pirate to make a really good group of friends, have fun and kick some asses. He is one of the most easygoing people you will ever find in a fictional story. He really doesn't care about things most people would complain a lot. And he is completely honest; he always tells the truth, even when he lies (paraphrasing Scarface). He's got his first crew member in the beginning chapters: Roronoa Zoro, a swordsman who uses three swords that has a great ambition: to be the greatest swordsman in the world, and his man after became Luffy's right arm. The other members of the Straw Hat Pirates appeared after, and most of them didn't really liked Luffy at first, but then they became fond of his unique personality.
The last thing I want to talk about is the art. This is quite a contentious subject, for I know some people who like to criticize it. I somehow understand why they complain about, but I don't agree with them. It is said that the characters of One Piece are not well drawn. This is mainly because One Piece doesn't have the characteristic design of a manga, with the tram-sized eyes and all that stuff. But all the places are magnifically depicted: the sort of details in the sceneries is just amazing. And it makes me really like it.
Overall, One Piece is the best shonen I read so far. I'm not a real fan of this genre, but this story captivated me.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou review
It is the time when the whole world, which
had been like a festival, slowly calmed
down. Here is an introduction to the gentle
time called The Age of the Calm Evening..

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, one of the simplest manga you may see, I encouraged to write this review after reading the Epilogue chapter (I didn't do that before ). Yes, it's 14 volumes but the simple story and details made this looks like 5 volumes manga, but it has its own charm, YKK's story is Post-Apocalyptic while the life is changed after rising the sea level, and the population is reduced, there was a lot of new animals, and the life became much simpler. The female roboat 'Alpha' who have a cafe located in Japan, it's nearby to Yokohama. Alpha have a really really cheerful, light-hearted, optimistic, jovial character, she owns that cafe while nothing outside the scope of daily life happens.

Story: 9
story of YKK is really simple, cheerful robot, a cafe and neighbors, it shows you the simplest way to live your life. The field of story isn't wide, it supposed to be wider because it's 14 volumes, so you won't find a lot of flaws in this. Language of this Manga is great, really luxurious and elegant.

Art: 10
Art is exceptionally great, simple, unbelievably cute, no devils, just smiling, the sun is shining, nothing can stop that, It really fits the atmosphere of this manga, and it shows you the Moe in another way.
Background artwork is awesome too, colored ones are mostly green, blue, and the colors of nature, I wasn't even able to close my eyes, the art of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is really great.

Character: 10
didn't you know why I gave this a 10? because this is realistic, It's similar to Miyazaki's works, there's no devils, they're smiling, always similing, no dark side and no supernatural things.

Enjoyment: 10
read this when you're calm, listen to calm music (Vashiti Bunyan's songs are great :) ) and relax
you will enjoy this, totally!!

thank you for reading

Believers review
Believers is a tense pot-boiler of a drama that you could easily imagine as a live action effort directed by Lars von Trier or some other eclectic director with a penchant for putting his actors through the emotional wringer.

Three cult members are on a small island off the coast of Japan taking part in a program to purify themselves in order to become new heightened humans, and the method to do this is through a humble routine of mental exercise and meditation, eating, sleeping, and the occasional secret lust-ridden sex, betrayal, paranoia, death and mutilation.

You see, you can’t just plop three humans on an island and not expect it to all go haywire. Especially since their food rations begin running out thanks to a lack of food drops from their main organisation which is quite obviously in financial and legal trouble.

This all harkens back to the Aum Shinrikyo sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway in 1995, and being that this manga was published in 1999 you can feel the millennial fears and worries come to life on the page. Author Naoki Yamamoto takes a pivotal moment in Japanese news and concentrates on the lesser folk involved in the affair, and does it brilliantly by isolating them from the main happenings on the mainland. It is a staple of the thriller genre to increase tension on ordinary people bit by bit until the proverbial pot boils over and Believers delivers on that aspect at an assured pace.

The three characters themselves are well fleshed out with compelling backgrounds and seeing them rub off on each other, quite literally in some cases, is a joy. The lust that rears its head is kinetic, the paranoia and suspicion, the outright jealousy masked by hierarchy is ugly but very real.

As one extreme emotion follows another, the behaviour of the characters, one in particular, becomes more and more selfish in nature and so transparent yet the other two are so weak-willed that for the most part they can’t defend themselves from ridiculous demands and outrageous behaviour that borders on hysterical satire if it weren’t so disturbing and realistic to imagine.

That is Believer's strength, its portrayal of ugly emotions taking flight in humans so easily susceptible to outside influences, so reliant on external stimulation and ideas, not strong enough inside themselves, not strong enough to have realised how bloody stupid it was to join the cult in the first place, let alone willingly go on an island and ultimately allow themselves to spiral into the depths of human instinct gone crazy with blood-lust.

It builds to a terrifying climax and good resolution that almost veers into over the top territory but then refrains and settles for a more logical and satisfying conclusion with some form of liberation. That’s what the entire story is about really, finding liberation.

Heroine Voice review
Heroine voice is a short, but sweet, manga following Otome and Suzu as they become voice actors under the same manger. The potential for this manga is clear from the start but with only 11 chapters (as 3.2 is canon) the end feels premature as if the manga been cut short.
Regardless, this was certainly worth the read and was enjoyable for sure.

Story: 5

A 5 rating doesn't mean the story is bad, I actually enjoyed it. But there is too much depth within the story that is unexplored. Characters appear sometime with little to no significance and say no more than a sentence. The story also seems to shift focus pretty quickly as the writing begins to focus more on Suzu. While this was interesting, it resulted in the main character being overshadowed and underdeveloped as a result.

Art: 8

I really enjoyed the artwork. Characters expressions looked great and there was a clear distinction in the characters' appearances.

Character: 6

The characters in the manga are all deep and mostly shrouded in mystery. Had the manga go on for longer, I believe that this depth could have been explored further but in reality there is little character development and nothing more than the name of some characters is known. I really saw potential in the characters being explored but sadly this did not happen, a real shame.

Enjoyment: 8

I have no doubts that this manga is enjoyable. The monologue flows well and characters personalities are likeable. Actually i'd say it's hard to dislike any character who had some significance. Sure it won't be my favourite manga anytime soon, but certainly not a boring read.

Overall: 7

Heroine Voice is a manga that I do not regret reading. The short journey that the characters go through was easy to follow and enjoyable. I definitely recommend giving this manga a read, but don't expect perfection.

Saitou-kun wa Esper Rashii review
Souichiro Saioto, a high-school freshman, is driven by a belief that he is unique. This stems from a supposed ability to bend spoons. And yet, his demonstration of his ESP, during his class introduction, fails to net him the admiration he desires. The girls do not want to be with him; the guys do not want to be him. He is despondent, until stumbling upon the president of the ESP club, a beautiful girl with an invincible body...

"Saito-kun wa Chounouryokusha Rashii" does not have the most impressive premise. But the daily adventures and squabbles of the ESP club are fun to follow, with quite a few laugh-out-loud moments. I didn't expect the manga to be as funny as it was, in fact. There is some fan-service, but not nearly as much as I expected (nor as much as the MAL cover seems to promise). Saioto's arrogance lends him a flair for the dramatic, despite his form of ESP being the least impressive of the bunch (if you can even call it that), and the resulting situations are bound to inspire a few chuckles.

The art is solid and the characters are, if a little flat, compelling enough, given how short the manga's run was. The plot leaves much to be desired. It's rather schizophrenic, and the manga hops genres as thin plot details compel the characters to action. Still, why think so much about it? Considering how short it is, the flaws are more than forgivable. Overall a fairly mediocre, but amusing, series - recommended.
