Bougyaku no Kokekko review
Story (4):
This is our average Zombie-type Apocalypse, but instead of zombies we have giants chickens. The plot is very straightfoward, MC must save his brothers and sisters when all the adults became chickens.
This manga have a very weird passing and sometimes the story skip some stuffs.
The ending is rushed in a point MC get healing powers and start to heal deadly wounds. I'm joking a little here, but I guess the mangaka didn't had the time to deal with the ramifications of the characters being wounded so he basically forgot about it.

Art (5):
The characters are draw a little inconsistent. The human characters are draw in three types:
Toddlers - They are draw very chibi and weird. They really look like from a different manga.
Adults - I guess the mangaka wanted to go with "adults are evil", so they are draw very creepy. They remind me the weirds faces that Onizuka from GTO does.
Teenagers - Like the average manga characters.

The background, most of the time, is just a real life photo black and white.

A very important thing to mention about the art is how it got worse with time. In the first chapters everything is very detailed, but the last chapters stuffs looks like a bunch of scribbles.
Apparently this was caused because the gore was making some people uncomfortable. Sadly, this really damaged the art of the manga.

Characters (3):
Most of characters are forgettable and/or useless. They are basically a waste of cast, but let's talk about 3 of them.

Tora: the mangaka, for some reason, really want to paint him as a bad guy. It even a little infuriating because he is apparently the only one capable to do the smart decisions.

Aki: she's the token girl, therefore she's useless. She's just here because I want to mention the scene which she slap Tora because he kill a guy who tried to rape and kill her. Yes, we are dealing with this type of person.

Yuu: He's the Main Character (MC). And he's a Emiya Shirou, in other words he want to save everyone include the guy who tried to rape and kill his sister. To be honest, I hate this type of character in this type of story.

Enjoyment (5):
It was nice in the beginning like any manga, and as the story goes you start to see the flaws. I mostly liked because I like Zombie-type Apocalyptic stories, but it's really not worth it.

Overall (4+5+3+5 = 4.25 = 4):
Very cliche story, bad written with a rushed ending.
Terrible characters and a ok designer.

Kanna review
"Kanna? Now what ever could this little ditty be about?"

A common guideline of mine when I pick out Anime or Manga to watch or read, would probably be as such - pick something you've never heard of before. Finding new things is exciting, and even more so if what you've managed to grab actually is enjoyable. And walking among the Manga shelves in a special store once, I picked out a story with an amusing title, and read the description on the back.

I'm just a sucker for stories about guys having to take care of little girls. :p So without further delay, I acquired the entire series, and read it through hastily. And this is the conclusion I came to...

STORY: 6/10
It starts out very well. This Kagura guy lives his ordinary life like any other guy you could imagine. Until suddenly, one morning, he finds a tender little girl sleeping beside him in his futon. She's unable to talk, and Kagura doesn't really know what to do with her, but as events unfold and most of the working crew is slaughtered at the little café where he works, he notices that darker powers are out to get a hold of this little girl. And soon enough he learns from outer sources that Kanna (as she's called) is his actual daughter, however from a parallel world. With the aid from friends and other characters he gets to know, he embarks on a walking journey with her, traveling between his own world and the parallel, to find the alternate "him" and learning just what has happened here.

However, the storyline takes a rather sharp turn away from the expected. By around the third volume, it gets rather tedious with wars and battles in the parallel world, giving the impression that you're reading a history book and not a Manga, with detailed strategies and battling that doesn't fill a very important place at all in the main storyline. But really, save for this part, it's a very amusing read - I recommend it for anyone with a Manga interest, seeing as it could apply to a broad audience and doesn't really focus on a genre alone.

ART: 8/10
I've seen a lot of Manga with downright awful art. And, giving that it's a Manga, the artwork plays a really big part at times, in my opinion at least. This, however, is not Manga with downright awful art. Characters are well designed and well distinguishable from each other. The backgrounds are a tad sparse, but it helps to put the focus on the characters and their interacting instead. Some of the caricatures feel rather bad though, but every artist has their own style, really. And it does feel like the artist should polish his grasp on drawing hands - the actual anatomy is flawless, but little girls really don't have those burly man-hands. :p

CHARACTER: 6/10
The characters give a very good impression, so they're hard to forget - and this is good, since they tend to disappear for bouts of time and then reappear at the strangest locations. Some of them could use a bit more development, but these examples are rare - most of the time, you know where you have them.

...couldn't think of anything more to say here...so well, let's move on.

ENJOYMENT: 7/10
As explained during STORYLINE, it was enjoyable at times, and not really at other times. The awkward situations between Kagura and Kanna is a given source of humor, as well as random flicks throughout the story, and most of the time it's kept together well enough to keep reading with enjoyment and suspense. It could be better, but it always can, right? The fact that it's only four books was a little down heartening, really...it could've evolved into something really nice.

And that's my pros and cons about it. Not the best, but a very amusing (and sometimes rather cute) story to read; at some parts decorated with bloody action and breast nudity though, so younger readers beware somewhat.
Yeah...somewhat. :3

Sensei no Shiroi Uso review
What starts off as an interesting but dark story devolves into a convoluted mess of contradictory preaching.

The author tries to make some sort of nuanced statement about the relationships between men and women and the natural power struggle they're locked in, but ends up implying some absolutely horrifying hot takes such as:

Women may say they hate rape, but in reality they love it!
Trying to abort another woman's baby isn't a bad thing, because a MAN made you do it.
Women have no agency
The only way to overcome rape is to find another man. Good dick cancels out bad dick; it's math!
Emotions dictate everything, and that's a good thing!
Men are always hurting women
A woman's lot in life is to be hurt, used and dirtied by men. Lay back and think of England.
The most horrible punishment that can be inflicted on a man is not death, but fatherhood.
Love means letting your husband beat you and sleep around
Society is 100% totally OK with every single behaviour stated above

If the story had just focused on the Teacher character and her struggle with rape/blackmail it would have been a better story, but the author shoves in a shitty romance between her and a student and focuses on some of the worst characters ever put to paper. Every single person in this manga is either a hollow slave to emotion or an irredeemable piece of trash. Since this author decided to take a massive dump all over humanity she made all the women sorry sacks of crying and estrogen and all the men vile tyrants with a constant erection.

On a technical level, the story is awful. It's slow, characters trudge along from one bad scenario to another with no real pacing or motivation, character's actions are not dictated by their previous actions and everything is always rape. All the time. Rape. Everywhere.

Near the end the story devolves into characters giving speeches outlining the author's warped worldview. The bad characters get away like nothing happened (because feelings), and everyone's life is ruined but no one learned anything (other than sensei who learns to stop worrying and love the dick)

The art is competent, at least. Shame it couldn't service a better story.

In conclusion: Over all this was a trainwreck of shallow characters raping/getting raped because nature says men shall rape all women with some nice art and some of the worst writing since Bobo the chimp got his hands on a typewriter. It also manages to set women back 5,000 years. That's an accomplishment, right?

Gachirin ni Kirisaku review
tl;dr: Not overtly complex or deep but solid with an interesting and well implemented art style.

This manga is one that relies primarily on its style and action. It's sense of style is certainly tremendously edgy for lack of a better word, so take that as you will, but it's really good at being so, and ultimately I thought it was really cool. The art style has a lot of grit and gore to it, but at the same time can still be quite beautiful at times, often with those elements interwoven quite tightly, which overall, I thought resulted in something that looked pretty amazing. The action was solid as well, wherein the systems weren't amazing, but they were solid, and the way it was drawn and paced was pretty exciting with scenes that were pretty awesome. In terms of the other aspects, I thought having a pretty small cast of characters that were reoccurring throughout was used well, as ultimately pretty much everyone, heroes and villains, got fleshed out to some degree. In terms of character relationships, they weren't established all that well as a whole, and while some of the smaller ones seemed fine despite that, the main ones, especially the relationship between Sayuka and Kaina felt weak. There was some growth in Sayuka, in terms of coming to do what she wanted to do, as well as in Osekami in flashbacks, in terms of her relationship with humanity, but it didn't feel particularly important in either of these cases, and the rest of the characters didn't really get much of anything. Plot wise, I think it was solid because it felt consistent from beginning to end. The plot certainly wasn't all that complex, but with the way it was told with a good portion of the story being told through flashbacks that add various twists, I think it did a good job. The ending seemed rushed, in that it forced the end to various plot threads by simply destroying them rather than resolving them, but it did deal with pretty much everything in at least some way, so all in all I was fine with where it ended so I was pretty satisfied with it. Once again, I thought the art was quite good and fit well.

Devilman G review
Let me start off by saying that this manga is pure fanservice and I'm talking about both kinds here. If you are neither a fan of the original Devilman manga nor of fetishized sexual violence (more on that later), you probably won't find much to like about Devilman G.

The story is a re-imagining of the original Devilman manga that puts Miki Makimura into main character position alongside Akira and incorporates aspects of the Toei anime adaptation and Go Nagai's other works. The story is fine, it's unpredictable and does its own thing while still being "Devilman," but it was the art that kept me turning pages.

The art is simply amazing and a real feast for the eyes. Rui Takato has modernized Go Nagai's style beautifully and fans of the original Devilman manga will get a kick out of how "Go Nagai" some of the characters look and the way certain scenes are depicted. My only gripe is that Miki is drawn in a more contemporary "moe" style and sometimes seems at odds with the classic look of the other characters, though that is not to say she looks bad at all, just out of place in some scenes.

Now, if the words "sexual violence" make you feel any kind of negative emotion at all, run far away from Devilman G. Clothes are constantly getting torn off, there's lots of rape and torture, naked girls getting dismembered or sliced in half, and someone gets impaled through the vagina all the way up and out through her chest. And it's all shockingly explicit for a real manga. I can't believe this was published in the same mag as Princess Tutu, or even published at all. If you're a weird sicko like me (or Go Nagai) you'll enjoy every page, but Devilman G is certainly made for a specific audience and those outside that audience are going to be grossed out, so be warned.
