'Denpa Kyoushi' or in English 'He is a Ultimate Teacher' is essentially the love child between Great Teacher Onizuka, The World God Only Knows and even Steins;Gate later on.

Whilst it borrows many themes from existing franchises and mixes them all together, it manages to turn into something unique and interesting in the process.

Story: 10

The manga revolves around the young Junichirou Kagami, who is a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) in the beginning of the story.

Kagami is an avid anime and manga fan and has a blog dedicated to is hobbies.

As a teenager, he was a physics genius and even had a thesis published in 'Nature', a renown science magazine in the Denpa Kyoushi universe.

However, after college he has lost all interest in Science and Physics, and decided to spend his days as an Otaku NEET, updating his anime & manga blog regularly.

After the short introduction, his sister, Suzune, decides to change his current NEET status, and manages to find him a job as a high school teacher.

Kagami hesitates at first, but after a short experience with teaching, he found that he actually likes this new profession.

At the beginning each arc is composed of Kagami helping different students of his.
One arc has to do with bullying, another arc is about a student manga artist, another arc is about students in maid uniforms, another arc is about soccer and another arc is about a girl with a unique 'anime'-like voice that does not speak and so on.

In the beginning, in each arc, Kagami develops more and more as a character, and changes the lives of his students around him.

Sometimes the story is slice-of-life-ish, sometimes it's comedy, sometimes it's drama, sometimes it's about Kagami's anime and manga hobbies and sometimes it's just about Kagami being plain awesome.

Later on the story takes an interesting turn, and becomes something different than a typical 'GTO'-like Otaku teacher story, but still remains true to the roots of the beginning of the story.

Art: 8

The art is the weakest point of Denpa Kyoushi. The art is most of the time inconsistent. However, there are some very beautifully drawn color spreads and good drawings.

The character designs are also inconsistent, and there are many 'chibi'-like drawings that make the manga's mood feel more lighthearted.

Character: 10

Kagami is a unique mix of Keima from TWGOK (Otaku), and Onizuka from GTO (Teacher).
The mangaka has truly made him shine in his different quests of helping students and being funny, badass and cool, just like Onizuka from GTO.

The are many different characters showing up in the arcs, but in the end they are all made to make Kagami develop more and more, and themselves being developed too in the process.

Kagami is an Otaku, and it has some impact on the story. Many times he'll mention his beloved anime and manga, and compare real life situations to his beloved hobby.

His sister Suzune shows up from time to time to give advices, to help, and sometimes she'll just be cute and 'moe'.

Enjoyment: 10

If you watched/read and enjoyed GTO, TWGOK and even Steins;Gate you can enjoy this manga even more. While the manga is Shounen, it sometimes caters to Seinen crowds.

Overall: 10

I highly recommend reading Denpa Kyoushi. I really hope it will have an anime adaptation someday in the future, as it is extremely popular and won't get axed anytime soon. I'd prefer that the anime adaptation will be long running just like the manga, and be picked up by a good studio that knows what he's doing.

Thanks for reading!
