This could have been a really good manga if it hadn't been that long.

Firstly, the story was good initially, as it was shown in the adaption anime. It was pretty refreshing at that time, and I had expected it would have continued for about 50 chapters, as to make it more or less 100 chapters in total. However, the storyline had been extended for another wasteful year, making the second year totallly unnecessary and repetitive. coming along with those pointless drama on the way to the end.

Due to those not that meaningful incidents on the road, I could point out that the middle school's classmate of NanakoYukishiro during the first Christmas arc, Komachi Akashi, Iori Fujisomething or the new mentor overall hardly credited to the chain of events, as their appearances were just to fill the page. About those who previously introduced, the big sis character could have replaced the role of both Fujisomething and Akashi as the catalyst, even though she didn't have to be a lover, while the president could have had her own arc. With the way the author bringing out those incompleted characters, the development of the two protagonists were strained and pushed into stagnation, which eventually were rushed in a faster-than-the-speed-of-light ending. As reaching to the end, I wondered what I had read during at least 70 overextended chapters, so to be frank Masakuni Igarashi, you could have finished your work in a more direct and enjoyable way, but refused to do that. As a result, the manga was too heavy of content, but still in short of the attractiveness from characters.

The art was good, to be honest. I really like the design, especially when they appeared on the anime, and thank God Komachi Akashi wasn't adapted on the screen.

In conclusion, the author wasted his work's potential. We all know that all mangakas want to have his creation long time serialised,, but well, Igarashi definitely overproduced it. It's not bad, but ugly instead. And the word 'ugly' is totally positive here.
