Innocent review

Innocent is dark, gritty, gory and beautiful. It takes us into the 18th century era of France, with its own style on key figures. It's historical, so whilst it's enjoyable as hell to read, you will learn some things along the way.

I am surprised this series doesn't get enough praise, as I have never heard about it until a friend pointed it out to me, and am I glad it was. The art is spectacular, and not just due to his own art style, but how he expresses certain ideas with his pen is quite the sight to behold. The story kept me captivated until the very end. It does start strong, I believe, however get's even stronger as you go. The characters are the strongest part of this story, and very distinguishable from each other in many ways.

I would recommend this series for someone that wants something different from the usual, and a quick read that isn't too heavy but will keep you interested. Also, there is one character that truly makes reading this series worth while, though I shan't spoil you the details. That is for you to discover.
