Hirunaka no Ryuusei review

Hirunaka no Ryuusei seems like a cookie-cutter, cutesy manga right off the bat. And although it is at times, this manga definitely has a sense of tender poignancy running throughout the entire story that hints at a more mature and substantial plot. The saving grace in this manga is the character development. The main character is a spacey, naive, small town schoolgirl who becomes overwhelmed with the city life of Tokyo and her new found friendships and loves, but throughout the story, we see her grow (quite literally) into a mature woman who comes to understand the importance of a healthy relationship as well as
the emotional maturity, passion, and heartbreak that often comes and goes with one's first love. If you're looking for a funny, yet still heart stirring manga that will tug at your strings with its tenderness, this is the manga for you.
