Innocent Rouge 's review

If you came thus far you are already familiar with Innocent and know how great of a historical seinen it is. With probably the best digital art in the manga industry, on a level of detail to rival Berserk and Vagabond (and even surpass them in terms of consistency), the continuation of the Bizarre Adventures of Female Dio Brando (more flamboyance, more bisexual appeal) and her sibling Snow White Johnny Depp is to go even further beyond in absurdity (not in a bad way) and breathtaking dramatic sequences with a political background done right.

Unfortunately I feel there could be more depth and contradictions to humanize the character of Marie-Josèphe, who is, as I said, a female Dio with all their over-the-top characters, but still very entertaining and sensuous icon-character who will do everything for their ambitions, and who is even helpful (sometimes) to bring their "Heaven" into society.

I also wish there was more time for characters such as Jean Louis being better developed. He'd have been an interesting love interest to Marie's harem, the Senjougahara for her Araragi (with literally an issue related to weight), while her servant is Hanekawa (you get the picture).

The overall story is still 10/10, one of the best reads a seinen fan can ask for. Heart wrenching, entertaining, fast paced and flamboyant.
