This series is one of the best that I have ever read. It follows the female protagonist, Erika, from her first day of high school to beyond college. The characters are what truly set this series apart from the rest. They are like a breath of fresh air in a stale world. You will laugh, cry, and cheer them on through every step of their journey.

The female main character, Erika, is amazing. It's impossible to not want to be her friend. She is a genuinely good person whom is just a tad bit impulsive and naive. Sometimes you want to strangle her but ultimately, you just want to defend her. I genuinely envy her determination and positivity. She truly does try her best at all times.

The male main character, Kyouya, is the type of person that you love to hate. At times, he made me shake my head and wonder how this series is classified as romance. I would describe him as bored and disillusioned with life. His personality is the opposite of Erika's. He has a very stoic shell that is tough to crack.

Do not read just the first couple of chapters and then give up. This is one of those series that if you don't read at least the first ten chapters, then you truly can't form a proper opinion. The characters are multifaceted with deep personalities that don't show right away. When given the proper chance, this series will make a genuine lasting impression.
