Masamune-kun no Revenge review

Masamune kun's revenge has a very unique plot, as it isn't really one that you could find in any other slice-of-life manga/anime (there might be, but I didn't search enough). To be specific in why, while you read you might think you can predict what will happen, but you will get thrown off (some of you are really big brain and get it perfectly, so if that's you then 'grats). But I will explain why I rated how I did. (PS This is my first review so pog)

Story: 8
The story has a very unique/niche plot and I really found it refreshing to find both an anime and manga that was like this. While it was very original of a concept, I can't possibly rate it any higher than an 8 simply because some parts just didn't sit right with me. Getting into specifics will spoil, however there are certain arcs that I simply did not enjoy. Don't get me wrong, an 8 is a very good score and while those arcs were not always enjoyable, the ending of the manga was satisfying and even included an extra few chapters called "Masamune-kun no Revenge After School" and those are also really nice.

Art: 9
The art is extremely attractive and I couldn't help but think that I wished they existed in real life haha. There are many extremely beautiful panels that are really memorable and will almost be like it really was real life. I can't say that it was the best I have seen since there are many extremely talented mangaka out there, but this was consistently from start to finish very high quality art.

Character: 7 (honestly 6.5 though)
If I am being honest, I enjoyed the characters and there were many really good characters. However while there are often very good characters, there are many underdeveloped ones. Partially because the manga is on the shorter side, some characters got less development and became huge parts of the plot. To avoid spoilers, I will not go further into detail, but if I am being honest, only 2 or 3 characters got deep enough character development for how important they were in the plot. Each got their own arcs, and each got their own short backgrounds, but some simply felt insufficient and it is likely due to the length of the manga being slightly shorter than it deserved.

Enjoyment: 9
From start to finish, I really felt interested and invested in this manga. While a few arcs were not that great, it was purposeful and didn't fully take away from my enjoyment. I can't exactly say that it was the most enjoyment I got from a manga, but I always was curious about what would happen next and how it would turn out. I came from the anime and wanted to find out how it ended and I think it was definitely worth reading.

Overall: 9
Masamune-kun no Revenge is not a perfect manga, however it was overall a very quality manga. I recommend this to anyone who watched the anime and want to find out how it ends because if you enjoyed the anime, you will likely enjoy the manga as it wraps most of it up in a rather creative and unique way that you likely wouldn't have thought. There are many arcs and it has its ups and downs, but those are what the characters are supposed to do. They make you feel happy and they also make you angry at them because the imperfections are what make Masamune-kun no Revenge interesting and unique.
