Apocalypse no Toride review

good story, sad the ending was axed.

The premise definitely feels like the author wanted it to be a lengthy series what with all the set ups.
This ain't your ordinary rehash of zombie apocalypse with cheap pantyshots and human chaos theory, general audience appropriate imo(literally no unsightly graphic scene I would not show children), despite the main cast being from a juvenile detention center, none of the killings feel out of place and careless. When characters are created just to be killed type of feeling.
Great take on zombie X bishounen boys that doesn't leave you feeling cringed at all with over-used apocalypse tropes.

Art: Inabe Kazu's work doesn't have any dark shading to it despite being a sci-fi horror. Feels like a highschool shonen manga. Character design is just right as to not distract to their settings. Of course there's gore but it's tasteful and well-executed in the right amount of disgust and intrigue in the zombies. The thrill and appall you feel from the graphic contortion yet at the same time you can't look away!

Overall: The final chapter leaves you thirsty for what could have been on the intriguing take of metamorphosis of the zombie genre. sigh.
