"Sekai Maou" is a nice creative take on the classic hero vs demon lord stories that we know and love. The jokes were good, the story flowed smoothly, and nothing felt awkward or out of place.

Reading halfway through, I thought it was going to be a gag manga. And it is, but the author decided to throw in a twist near the end. It totally caught me off guard and felt like one of those 0 to 100 transitions in "Gintama" where it goes from making ding dong jokes to a key serious moment in the plot. Nevertheless, the quick transition didn't break my immersion and I enjoyed reading the story.

It isn't a very long series and the 4-koma format lets you get a quick chapter in on the bus or you can read the whole series at once. Either way, I think it's worth reading, and I hope you give "Sekai Maou" a try.
