In my opinion it’s only fair to judge this manga with the understanding that after the first volume it was decided that there would only be 3 volumes in total (less than what the author originally desired). This shows how it wasn’t necessary good enough for commercial success, which should be taken into mind.

It is also important to note because there wasn’t enough space to fully flesh out the story and characters. This is apparent in the clear lack of a plot that gets proper development. I don’t mind this, but other prospective readers might. There is no ‘bad guy’ or negative force that hinders the world or its charatcers which must be overcome, like in a Marvel movie, so it doesn’t have the kind of typical ‘beginning-middle-end’ plot that other stories do. If that kind of plot is what you require then this manga probably wouldn’t interest you. Instead the story focuses on the chatacters and their relationships with eachother as they grow. There is character development and the story starts at A and ends at B, where A and B are clearly distinct.

The manga makes up for points in the character and art departments. The manga becomes primarily about the relationship around Yuu and Nanase, and the vampire aspect of the story mostly just adds to this. The art is also nice. Characters usually look quite stiff and inanimate which is a small negative, but they are otherwise well drawn. This is especially clear in the quality detailing of the female’s hair and clothes.

Overall, it’s a short, simple, yet enjoyable story to read with likeable characters.
