This is a low tension fantasy comedy. The main characters are a dark mage shopkeep and her toddler-age slime apprentice. It has a bit of a slow start, as most gags revolve around the mage hiding her affection and contriving excuses to huge and squeeze the slime.

But as the story progresses it finds its rhythm and becomes more engaging. I think the cast of side characters are the main charm - they're very funny and likeable. It begins dipping its toes into surprisingly dangerous and emotional drama and adventure arcs as well, without sacrificing the story's safe-feeling vibe. Well, the cover art tells you what to expect pretty well.
