Seton review

Seton was one of the master's works that I had not yet read since it is difficult to find and quite rare nowadays, but I was recently lucky enough to be able to get my hands on it.
I think it is a fairly accessible work for all those who are interested in Jiro Taniguchi, directly or indirectly. Well, you can see it as four independent stories about the four volumes. This tells the story of a famous hunter for several periods of his life, and each volume is dedicated to an animal he studied or hunted during those periods. I really appreciated it personally.
Probably because it was not Taniguchi in the script and because his pair, Yoshiaru Imazumi, managed to make relatively interesting stories, supporting well the personality changes of the hero Ernest Seton, but also on the daily lives of the animals he was hunting.
There was a certain care taken with this, and this made it possible to bring solid and interesting script elements over the long term, without dropping out. I don't have much to add, it's still rather modern Taniguchi, with always a clean design and you could see that he was in his element when he drew large expanses and superb valleys. He is often quoted for contemplative purposes, but I think he has flourished more in drawing manga in natural environments, whether it is in Toudo no Tabibito or Kamigami no Itadaki.
A work by Taniguchi that you will necessarily appreciate if you have the chance to read it one day.
