War's Unwomanly Face is a rare gem in the Manga firmament and a good example of how powerful a graphic work can be.

Story: Based on a work which is internationally acclaimed by a Nobel Prize winner which have been pared down to simple, gentle tales of the brutal face of war. Chapters tend to deal with individual women with the experience of the interviewer interwoven with the narrative. 10/10

Art: A nice simple style that works well. Whilst faces are a little generic there is enough detail in the environments to convince and the 'Manga' style helps the tales feel accessible. 7/10

Characters: Painfully real. 10/10

Enjoyment: I get a buzz when I see the next issue is available and every story is emotionally involving. 10/10

A Masterpiece and worth your time. I don't give out 10's lightly and really the art should bring it down if only by a point or so but I have already reread chapters and really it would be churlish to score it less than 10/10
