Berserk is the epitome of manga. It has one of the most incredible stories i have ever seen, with countless scenes that make you feel all kinds of emotion. The characters are extremely well developed and feel very real. Nothing is ever wasted in Berserk as every panel is drawn with extreme detail and precision which is the main reason why episodes take so long to be released. It makes you ask yourself so many questions as it brings to the table numerous ideas and concepts of life and death that will leave you thinking deeply about them. The way characters you thought were good and friendly become twisted and violent, the way guts literally fights against his destiny and yet strives in each battle he fights. Berserk is definitely a manga you have to read.
