Blast of Tempest is one of my favorite dark fantasy mangas I've read. It had many incredible moments, well-balanced cast of characters, and great visuals to accompany it. That being said, the manga is still long ways off from being a true masterpiece.

The story of this manga can be described as a tale of two halves. The first half of the story was REALLY GOOD AND INTENSE I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH ABOUT THIS. Meanwhile, the second half was kind of too mellowed down and has too slow of a pacing. It didn't damage the manga quality too much, but it did dampen the potential that is left for the manga after such a solid and well-structured first arc.

The art quality was really good, but the characters were not very fleshed out at the end of the manga. It didn't help that each characters have pretty much the same face. However, I still enjoy reading this manga, especially the first 4 volumes. The interaction between the characters still kept me engaged throughout the whole thing.

All in all, after reading this manga, I will be looking forward to read Kyou Shirodaira's other mangas.
