Watashi ga Motete Dousunda review

After seeing all the early reviews full of prejudices I've decided to fight them after reading 40 chapters:

As many have already mentioned, this is a PARODY, don't take everything too seriously! It is full of clichés (used to an advantage), romantic moments, BL moments, comedic moments and all of this in a hilarious way. I enjoy this manga and anime extremely much, it always makes me laugh!

1. The biased synopsis
I was put off at the beginning about the MC suddenly losing weight in an impossible way and thus becoming popular. But don't be FOOLED! This is supposed to be ridiculous and simply a reason to put the shy otaku girl suddenly in the center of boys attention (where such a beauty is indeed eye-catching).

2. Not only beauty matters!
Many of you might now think that this manga therefore tells girls that only beauty matters. But that is not the case! This manga is actually full of roads to acceptance. The boys struggle because of her changing appearance and weird interests (BL) but will realize that these things are merely trivial when caring about a person.

3. Excentric main girl
This girl is not your usual reverse harem mc. She is hilarious, her reactions are priceless, her otaku heart never ceases to amaze, her clumsiness with real life romance is completely relatable and she is always trying to help people and never giving up.

4. Unshallow boys
Sure you can see that the boys might fit into specific character personalities and most of them were first attracted to the girl by her looks, but that doesn't mean they're shallow! Each of them get their own moments where they develop in personality, perception of love and in relations to the other boys as well (from competitors to friends).

Hope this helps deciding to try it out. I would recommend to at least read several chapters before deciding if this is flummery or not.
