KISS/HUG review

For starters; Yes, it's a typical 'Boy loves girl, boy wants to win over girl and girl falls for boy' manga. But it's a really good one. ^^

The story is, like I said, pretty common. Typical storyline for girls who enjoy cheesy love stories. However, there is more to the story than this. What struck me the most was the way I connected with Ryuu and Yukino. She actually puts up a fight when he tries to kiss her (I saw him with bandages on his body quite alot during the 14 chapters - you go Yukino!-) What I also liked is the -speaking in manga terms- quite realistic plot. The only not so realistic part was when Ryuu picked her up from school in a helicopter. Really, which 16 year old can pick up a girl in mid air?
The little details are also pretty well found. I laughed alot with the aggresive bird thing :)

The characters are really well done. They have their own problems and personalities, hopes and dreams. Ryuu did had to do his best to win her over, due to her quirky nature. Also, the chemistry between them is quite amazing.

I may overscore this manga a bit (Don't shoot me, but I'm still drooling over Ryuu.. Hehe ^-^), but I did really enjoy it. I read all the chapters in one go, which doens't happen alot.

So, in short; The art is quite pretty (Ryuu's face is a bit weird sometimes), the story is common, but the real plus of this manga are the personalities of the main characters. Also, Ryuu is damn smexy! x3 Sorry, couldn't help it..

If you like romance/cheesy stories with a cute artstyle and a happy ending, then Kiss/Hug is a real suggestion ^^
