tomie has an amazing artwork, as you'd expect from junji ito. i think that's actually the biggest value of the manga, you see tomie pictures everywhere on the net and it became a classic "yes i'm an edgy tumblr girl who likes japanese horror art ok?" symbol (myself included). people are getting tattoos of her because she looks so beautiful and mysterious. ironically that's what tomie and her story is about, possessing people and making them love her so it's cool to see that her presence is reaching out into the real world. i read the manga pretty much in one session and i admit that it might've been not the best idea. every story is different and interesting in its own way but eventually you'll get fed up with one bad ending after the other and you're starting to feel sorry for the victims. so i suggest reading the manga with some breaks inbetween so you can experience and appreciate every chapter before moving on to the next one.
