Mahou Tsukai Kurohime review

This manga should get a lot more credit. In the beginning of the series, the same sort of battles continuously happen with minor character development (with the help of love). However, the start of the story is interesting and very funny. Also, the interactions between the two main characters are always fun to watch. The battles outweigh the flowery romance bit and make it more exciting. It's really cool and fun to read, with love-hate relationships between the bad guys and interesting and wicked characters that emerge to get revenge on Hime, the female main character. The series continues with this sort of routine system of meeting people who hate Hime, fighting uselessly, Zero getting hurt to save her, her turning all cool, beating the bad guys, five second romantic scene, then comical release from the tension.
After a short time, the series goes crazy. I couldn't finish it because the story got really complicated, even though there wasn't really a need to do so. Once the series turns toward a more serious tone, the story gets a little unnecessary. All that happens is a long string showing Zero's background and things get weird. Then, somehow there is an ending. I only ended up liking the series up to a certain point.
