Last Game review

This is the first time I am leaving a review for a manga--especially one that I didn't particularly enjoy much--but I feel compelled to do so due to the high rating of this series.

While it's true that the overall rating of this manga is quite high (beyond the 8 point mark), I personally couldn't possibly fathom why that is.

Firstly, there's the story that's with a decent setup. After all, with a cold female lead and a charming male lead that lets himself be led around by the nose, you already have the recipe for something good. So how come that it never amounts to much? It's weird to have a romance manga where there's very little romance between the main characters for the entire duration of the series. (Is it just me who thinks that way?)

The art style is quite cute but at the same time, there's something a bit immature about it? I don't know how to phrase it, but the characters feel significantly younger than they actually are supposed to be. This conflict between their baby faces and their drunken escapades at times really gave me a sense of discord. (Then again, that's probably just me.)

That said, the main reason why I didn't give this series an even lower rating is because it does have redeeming features. For example, a lot of the gags between the characters and the comedic situations can truly give you a good laugh. Despite their cluelessness and cliched behavior, the characters are quite charming in their own right as well. Overall, this is what brings up the enjoyment factor of this manga.

However, if you're looking for something on par with other giants in this genre, I would not recommend Last Game as a title for you to go after.
