Kakumeika no Gogo review

Kakumeika no Gogo is a collection of stories by Jiro Matsumoto, a mangaka who I hear a lot from being underrated. After reading this collection, I must say that it was a good presentation of what possibly awaits me in the author's longer works. And, at the same time that I saw its great qualities, I also saw its small defects.

First of all, I must say that Jiro is a very creative author with ideals very well applied, he knows how to tell a story and he knows how to innovate. Their stories contain explicit sexual content and gore from time to time, so it is not recommended for those who do not like elements like that present in a manga. However, all of these elements, for me, are very much in line with the environment he brings, of people who are generally psychologically corrupt or in a difficult situation in life.

I must also mention its great consistency in the story, all of them are really good and deal with different themes from each other with very unusual approaches. Its art is also an outstanding point, it's kind of dirty and scribbled, but I liked it, I found it different and beautiful in a way, and the main thing, it works well in the stories, very charming.

Unfortunately, not everything is flowers and the collection suffered from some problems in most of its chapters such as a shortage of explanations and details, resulting in certain gaps were left that bothered me. Also the beginning of its stories tends to be discouraging, they all start in a confused way but come up with a logic as they go, but until that happens, it has to go through a little suffocation, there are many really confused things in the stories.

Small mistakes, big hits, it was a good read to present the author's elements, resulting in something genuinely good.
