Gakuen Alice review

I was actually amazed at the plot because it's not the typical magic genre; this one totally hit my interest!

The anime was really good and interesting, but I didn't expect the manga to be this excellent, a work of a genius! Although the story in the anime was left hanging, it was well-explained in the manga (except for one character though, I didn't get to see his past).

I love how the characters developed from Natsume (how he fell in love with Mikan without so much rush), Mikan (on how she deserved to be called the academy's light), Hotaru (with her relationship with Mikan), Ruka (on how he fought for himself) until the last supporting characters.

The twists also evoked my interests, like just when you thought that an issue would come to an end, another conflict will rise. The only thing that got me a bit disappointed is the ending. I never thought that the main problem would be actually a predicament in the end. But still, I think that pretty tells the readers that it should go back to where it all started.

But what I loved the most about this series is that, although it was deemed as a shoujo manga, it's not the typical one where events are predictable. The scenes (kissing/hugging/intimate parts) aren't cliche and will actually give you the sense of giddiness.
