Beast Master review
Ah, Beast Master is good stuff.

Despite it's intimidating title and bondage-esque cover, Beast Master is a fairly normal shoujo manga. It is somewhat cliched, but very enjoyable. While it's not over the top amazing, it's above average in all categories.

==Story==
The story is pure, unadulterated fun. Occasionally it gets a bit serious, but mostly, it's just pure entertainment. The comic timing is impeccable. This really is a comedy, you know. It's freakin' hilarious.
It's somewhat predictable and stereotypically shoujo, but it's still enjoyable.

==Character==
Leo, the hero, is one of the most lovable characters shoujo manga has ever seen. He's just amazingly cute. He's not one of those irritating perfect high school princes, Leo's just dang adorable.

Another reason I love this series is because Yuiko is a super-strong and brave heroine. I was surprised when she was introduced actually talking to a group of people in her class, as opposed to the stereotypically socially incapable but easily sympathetic Mary Sue style heroine we're used to. Yuiko... is great!

==Art==
The art is quite good. While there is the occasional awkward looking face, otherwise it's solid.
While Yuiko's character design is stereotypically-shoujo forgettable, Leo's is not. The audience will long remember his adorable happy fanged face. Toki-san's funny European face stands out, and Leo's dad has an interesting desgin as well.

The action is AMAZING for a shoujo comic. I was pretty much blown away. It somewhat reminded me of Shaman King's hip hop style. It's just that cool.

By the way, the author, Kyousuke Motomi... is a man. That explains the action and the tough heroine, but why would a man write shoujo...?

But ah well. If he writes more shoujo, he's gonna put the women to shame at their own game.

==Bonuses==

There are two bonuses in the Beast Master series, one is a short story called Fly Away, which is cute and nice, but otherwise not noteworthy except for a cool scene where the heroine jumps from a bridge and you can see her abs.

Cactus Summer Surprise, however, is an amazing 80 page long bonus. It's an amazingly inventive, and surprisingly touching short story. While the character designs don't stand out, their personalities are unique and quirks, and stand out. The comedy is amazing. I had to stop and slam my head on the desk from laughing so hard. Unlike the plot of Beast Master, the plot of Cactus Summer Surprise was inventive, unique, and loads of fun. As good as Beast Master was, Cactus Summer Surprise pretty much beat it up.

Beast Master is definitely worth the read! Go read it right now!

(By the way, kudos to whoever recommended it for fans of "You're My Girlfriend." Great recommendation!)

Beast Master review

STORY:
Its a romance between a girl who gets along well with people, but is hated by the thing she loves most (animals)
and a boy that is great with animals, but has a beast-like personality that makes people think that he's completely unapproachable.
I have to admit that I was trying my hardest to avoid reading this, because I'm not into the whole beauty falling in love with beast story.
But something about it just made me want to take a quick peek,
and I ended up reading the entire thing
lol I couldnt stop.
I didn't expect this story to have such a well balanced mix of romance and comedy.
There's even a bit of drama and parts that may make you tear up a bit ;D
The reason why it seems so unbelievable is because it's only seven chapters.
So it's short, and in my opinion a little too short which is why i gave it a 9 instead of a 10. It has closure, but i just wish it was a bit longer because I think it would be interesting to know what things would be like in the future ?

ART:
9 because I've seen better, but I must say that there wasn't a single page in which I was dissapointed. For this story I thought that everything was drawn pretty well, I'm completely jealous because I wish that I could draw like that. lol
My favorite scenes are of when Leo snaps
And I love Yuiko's eyes when she's thinking.=]

CHARACTERS:
For such a short story there was lots of character development !
I believe that the two main characters developed throughout the story,
but the rest (like the classmates) changed only in the beginning.

I enjoyed Beast Master a lot !
I laughed soo much, especially in the beginning because I sometimes show my affection towards animals in the same way as Yuiko, so i now know that should probably tone it down a bit ?
lol overall it was a great read, especially for those of you who want a quicky. ;D
I recommend it to everyone !=]

Beast Master review
Beast Master was a really enjoyable short read, even the side stories were good. Basically, an animal loving girl gets help from an animal like boy. Even though everyone is afraid of him, she's not. And thus their relationship builds. It's a really sweet, pretty original manga.

The first short side story was about a girl who dreams of being a pilot and the boy that helps her stay true to her dream. It wasn't all that original, but was sweet nontheless.

The second short story was really good. Basically the boy in the series soul gets transferred to a cactus and until they help the woman's soul who was in the cactus, he will be stuck in the plant. It was humorous and touching. I liked this one a lot.

Back to Beastmaster..
Story 9/10: The story was original and really sweet. There was humor but also seriousness involved. I liked how the two grew closer and it seemed like nothing could destroy the trust they have in one another.

Art 10/10: The art was awesome, with humorous scenes mixed in, which I like. The emotions of the characters are expressed well.

Character 9/10: They were likable but didn't really develop (due to the short length of the series). However, some of the side characters were able to evolve. I thought that focus should have been on the two main characters.

Enjoyment 9/10: I liked it.. it was touching, funny and made me want to "go wild"... haha

Overall 9/10: Thought it was a great short read that was refreshing.

Beast Master review
I'm primarily an anime viewer and as such read few manga. I'm practically comparing this manga to anime I've watched regardless of how different the two are. Beast Master is one of my favourite manga/anime I've viewed.

STORY 10/10

Beast master was a really cute story and I was always in high spirits whilst reading it. I found the romance good and the setting for the story was different to what I'd seen before.

It was also relatively short so it didn't manage to bore me even though I wasn't really used to reading manga. It actually left me wanting there to be more.

ART 10/10

It was really good. I don't really have much experience in manga so I can't compare it to much. Regardless I still think the art was above standard. It didn't disappoint me in the slightest to see what had been drawn.

CHARACTER 8/10

The characters weren't something that I couldn't relate to the personalities of others I'd seen. Nevertheless I wasn't disappointed in the character settings of any of the characters. Their persona's were really fitting of them.

ENJOYMENT 10/10

Watching anime I realize that a lot of them share large similarities. For example some anime are practically fan service itself and focus purely around large breasts the majority of the time (Which is kind of a disappointment to me as I prefer petite women). I'm not sure whether it's just that manga do not show as much fan service and such things, but Beast Master didn't really have much (So if your looking for such manga this isn't the right choice). I personally enjoyed this.

OVERALL 10/10

I enjoyed reading this manga about as much as I enjoy watching anime. I would highly recommend his manga to anyone who is relatively new to manga like myself. I would of course also recommend this to anyone whom is just looking for another masterpiece to read.

Beast Master review
"To protect ourself and what we hold dear, we keep frightening beasts within us."

Yuiko loves animals and wants them to love her back. Unfortunately animals hate her, she's too...affectionate. No matter what she does, even her own cat runs away. Her friends tell her that if she put that enthusiasm towards a boy, she'd get a boyfriend. The only problem is that in all her 17 years, she hasn't found any guy interesting. One night a mysterious stranger with blood on his clothes rescues her cat and leaves without a second word. The next day a new student transfer in to her class , it's him. He's rumored to be the beast fighting and almost killing in the area.
After she witnesses Aoi losing himself to his inner leopard in a fight she steps in, will he run away from her too?

Yuiko, is unique you could say. She loves animals but her methods are too violent, you could see it from the first 2 pages. She is brave and kind and understands people well. She sees in Aoi, what other don't see, and finds hims cute and adorable.

Aoi, he's scary, His classmates even describe him as having eyes like a "carnivorous animal." And they are right. He doesn't stop being scary but he starts to get understood. Aoi is drawn beautifully, when he is scary he looks psychotic and when he smiles it all goes away. And his smile was drawn with fangs, sort of, that he looks very sweet and innocent.
The manga was drawn in a comical way. You'll lol at just their expressions most of the time. When it's meant to look cute and dreamy it looks it but when it's scary you could as smell the blood.

Rarely do you find a one-shot manga that in just 2 volumes paints a clear picture the lives of those around you and while reading it makes you fell like you've been part of their world since day one. You see what Yuiko sees and you start understanding Aoi, even if it sometimes goes against reason.
