Jujutsu Kaisen review
At the time of writing this review, there are only 12 chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen translated. Due to the low number of chapters, my scores will be closer to a 5 (average) because there's really not much a series can do within the first 12 chapters to stand out significantly in any of these categories. As with most of my reviews I'll try to update them once more chapters have been released, provided the series doesn't get axed by Jump & translations are released.

Story: 6/10

As expected, there isn't a ton to the story yet. Only 12 chapters are released at the time I'm writing this review, so there haven't been any very significant arcs in the story yet. However, what has happened is (mostly) well presented. Similar to most series in Jump, things start off very quickly and the first few chapters are taken at a very quick pace. There is so far one relatively significant arc (4 chapters long, 6 to 9) and there have been relevant major antagonists and protagonists introduced, which is a good sign
this early on.

That being said, I think the best part of the plot so far is that the main character has been given a very clearly defined goal. It's one of the best signs of a well thought out shonen battle manga: the successful ones tend to tell you the main character's goal early on (Luffy wants to find the One Piece, Naruto wants to become the Hokage etc.). Even better is the fact that the goal in this case is a bit gruesome, which is typically not the case with Jump manga and helps separate this series from its counterparts.

Currently I would consider the story to be a 6/10, leaning towards 7/10 if it continues like this for the next few chapters.

Art: 6/10

I find it difficult to separate "good" and "great" art a lot of the time, and it's even harder to do that when there have been so few chapters released and translated. Generally though the art in this series is about at the level I'd expect, with the odd panel looking very well detailed.

Character: 5/10

Again, it's difficult to rate how well the characters have been done seeing as there are so few chapters out. What has been done so far is reasonably good, but not stellar. The main character does have well explained motives, but I find some of the side characters that have fallen flat or generally just been average. I'll probably come to like them more given some time, but at this point one of them have really stood out to me as particularly well written (or poorly written for that matter).

Enjoyment: 5/10

I've read a lot of shonen manga, and so far this seems like a somewhat standard one. It's entertaining at times, but I do feel like it'll take a while before I truely begin to enjoy it. I can't give this any higher than a 5 currently because there hasn't been a lot about this series that has stood out to me yet, but I'm sure if it's given enough time in Jump then the series will be able to stand out from the other titles.

Overall: 5.5/10 (rounded to a 6)

Jujutsu Kaisen is a pretty straightforward shonen battle series, and as with all of these series it's hard to judge how good it is when it hasn't gone through a major arc. It does seem like the Japanese audience likes it (Volume 1 apparently got a reprint already, and it's only been available for a week) so I'm sure this series will be able to survive, at least for the forseeable future.

Jujutsu Kaisen review
It's overall just a really okay manga. It's not bad by any means, but I don't have a particular thing that I like about it aside from this one thing I'll get at later.

The story introduces interesting concepts in terms of its powers. I like when each character gets a fighting style unique to them. It makes their fights all the more interesting, at least in terms of visuals. Up until this point, the story was pretty okay too, but I have a hunch that after this arc ends, the quality will really rise, so I'm holding out on that hope.

The art is alright. It looks like shounen manga art. It's cool, but it's pretty much average to above average for me.

I don't particularly care for many characters. The one character I do genuinely care about, though, is the main character. I think the main character has the most interesting conflict in the entire series. He's pretty generic as far as the design and personality of a male lead go, but I am really interested in how he'll grow more than I am anybody else in the manga. When I said that I care about one thing, that thing is how Yuji will proceed in the plot. He carries my entire enjoyment of this manga. He's funny, he's endearing, he's compelling. It's a pleasant surprise given that I didn't have many hopes for him.

However, from there, I can genuinely say I do not care at all about the fate of anybody else whether it be an ally or an enemy. I could not care less about his classmates or his mentors which is an unpopular opinion given how people think the mentor is the best part of the series. The female lead is mildly interesting. The story is really heavily setting up a plot surrounding Yuji's quiet, dark-haired companion which again, I really could not care less about compared to how much I'm interested in Yuji and Sukuna's whole thing.

My enjoyment only started picking up recently. Before this arc, I was pretty much reading just to catch up before the anime aired.

Overall, it's a 7. I see potential, but I know it won't be realized for at least a year.

Jujutsu Kaisen review
No Spoilers Ahead

Introduction:
Now when I heard that a new Shonen Jump manga was getting an anime I immediately though
“Ahhh shii here we go again” and immediately compared it to Naruto after reading the description ,but after reading it, it became apparent that it was anything but that. Jujutsu Kaisen definitely has its own identity and is very different from the run of the mill generic Shonen and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Shonen. After reading the Manga it became one of my favourites of all time and watching the anime has been a treat too - and I believe it could be one of the biggest shows of this decade.

Story:
The story goes as follow - Yuji eats a finger and it just happens to be the king of curses, The jujutsu world sees him as a Danger to humanity and sentences him to death but before that he is allowed the chance to collect all the fingers of Sukuna then die - saving the world in the process.

Artwork:
Gege Akutami’s artwork is very rough round the edges and at first can be hard to get into like Chainsaw Man however that does not stop the art from being beautiful and extremely detailed. The fights are easy to follow and very well done and the choreography is top tier, and all the attacks and techniques have their unique look which look amazing (especially Gojou’s attacks). Speaking of Gojo , the character the designs and outfit design are good giving off a unique vibe to each character and keeping the artwork and characters fresh. However, I do see how the artwork can be a turn off for some people looking to get into this manga - but after about 10 chapters you will not even notice it.

Pacing:
The pacing is extremely fast paced , at first I thought it was too fast paced but it definitely slows down in later arcs becoming a lot better in my opinion .However we don't stay in the school setting to long and waste time(like in Bleach) . Not much to say here except its really good.

Characters:
Yuji Itadori:
Yuji is just so GODDAMN LIKABLE like how can you hate him? His personality is pretty much the same as most Shonen protagonists except he does not scream his ideology or goal every 10 seconds(Asta/Naruto). His character getting his ideology challenged in different ways is intriguing and watching him grow as a character is good as well. He is not just a cardboard cut-out of a character and is unique.

Megumi Fushiguro:
Out of the 4 main characters(Yuji , Gojo, Nobara) he isn't my favourite as all of the others outshine him by A LOT, especially Gojo , but that doesn't mean that I don't like him he's a good enjoyable character. But he only really shines when with other characters . His past is quite interesting when later discovered in the manga and his family is one of the coolest families in the series .However he has one thing , his abilities on the coolness metre , are only second to Gojo in my book.

Nobara Kugisaki:
She is a treat to watch and her personality shines 2nd out of the main four just after Gojo IMO .She is also actually able to fight and isn't the typical helpless Shonen girl who just cries for help (Sakura) and isn't and annoying Tsundere who just abuses the MC(Noelle).

Satrou Gojo:
Definitely the favourite character of the whole series and for good reason too his personality is great , his design is great , his powers are great and his ambitions are great to. It’s interesting to see him struggle with being the strongest Shaman and having to bear the responsibility that if he dies the order of the world will collapse and how he prepares the future generations for it - which we don't see often in Shonen and I wish we did with other stories like Naruto.

Spin-Offs:
Jujutsu Kaisen has one prequel manga and two spin-off Light Novels however these have no English translation or fan translation available so have to skip these if you don't speak Japanese . They aren't necessary to read , however it’s a different story with the prequel manga. The prequel manga is good and is a good introduction to the characters and world of Jujutsu Kaisen, and although it isn’t necessary right now it is canon and due to recent chapter it might become necessary to read to understand the story in the future. Also Yuta (the MC of the prequel has been name dropped many times by Gojo and Fushiguro and the 2nd year studenets)

Conclusion:
I highly recommend this manga it's one of the biggest serializing manga out right now and the anime adaptation is a good place to start - its animation and all that shiz is amazing. So whichever version of Jujutsu Kaisen you jump into make sure that you start soon!

Also listen to the anime opening cos that shii slaps

Jujutsu Kaisen review
This manga is Shounen Jump's newest supernatural story promise, after great names like Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Shaman King and Bleach you would expect that JJK would be on pair with those great stories, newsflash: it isn't.

The story starts of okay, the author seems to be holding a bit info though, he could have shared more about the world as the arcs were passing, however, on the current arc, Shibuya Incident the author starts vomiting information on you, worldbuilding, characters (their names and faces), techniques, it is just too much, it is even worst when it tries to explain how a technique works and it makes you feel even more confused. On the other hand, since the beginning of the story is too slow, the protagonist progression is too fast, we are shown a ranking where either sorcerers or curses are placed, you would expect that our protagonist would be of a low grade, technically he is, but he progressed so fast that he already feels too strong and to countermeasure this the author already made entry-level enemies too strong.

Character-wise they have okay personality, same old from the shounen genre, but I personally found their names hard to remember and their faces look the same to me, sometimes I rely on their hairstyles to know who is who, but when they say a name my mind becomes blank.

The art style is alright, crude and rough, the "sketchy" details makes the roughness of the art. As I said before, drawing the characters' faces don't seem to be the author strongest suit.

I started off enjoying this manga, but the current arc and the decision to pour too much information now for worldbuilding seems like a bad idea. It is rushed writting, thus bad writting, ideas are all over the place, too much info, some things mentioned once only to be remembered months later and the author expects us to be with the material fresh on our minds.

So compared to previous supernatural stories Shounen Jump had release, JJK is a huge let down because it has bad writing, rushed worldbuilding and indistinguishable character's art.

Jujutsu Kaisen review
Jujutsu Kaisen is a shonen battle manga of the Shonen Jump magazine , and i like it a lot . This manga has some potential to be one of the most popular Shonen Jump manga series ( Chainsaw Man also is doing great , but now i'm talking about JJK ) . So Yuji Itadori is the protagonist and it's character he reminds me of Gon ( HxH ) . Because he is that kind of character that can be with anyone . But when a villan slaps one of his friends then he gonna berserk.
SPOILER COMING --->Like Mahito that turned Junpei's body into a curse and Itadori was going berserk and raged . so i tought the character development of Yuji , Megumi , Nobara and Satoru are good but it's not super original or something . Denji par example has an interesting character development , he isn't the typical shonen protagonist. Denji is a direct person and feels more realistic about life . I saw very much characters with the same development in shonen battle mangas as JJk . Satoru has kinda the same personality as Kakashi from Naruto . The story is like a typical shonen manga .
But i like the theme about shamans or exorcists . and yeah also the power up system is a bit complicated , specially Satoru's infinity . after rereading it 3 times and searching at internet " The paradox of Achilles and the tortoise " i understanded it more . Power system is original ngl .If you like shonen manga specially about Shonen Jump . Then i recommend this series . Fight scene's are sometimes very rough drawn . I think that episode 1 is the least rough drawn . at volume 4 the lines are too rough specially the battle of Itadori vs Mahito . I like those rough lines . So yeah that was my opinion and review about Jujutsu Kaisen. :)

Jujutsu Kaisen review
I can see why poeple would think Jujutsu Kaisen is garbage, and I really don't blame them. The beginning of the manga is so generic, so cliche'd, that I myself almost dropped it by chapter 10. That being said, if you stay around long enough, it gets better.

Let me talk about the absolutely garbage beginning. Our "plebian, normal" protagonist gets thrown into a "supernatural hidden world!" Wow, never heard of that before. He takes the plunge into the world and sacrifices himself in order to save his likewise plebian friends from an evil curse, but gets saved by a passing by a good curse practitioner, who then brings our lovely protagonist into his protection. Soon later, our curse practitioner friend is hurt! Our protagonist has no choice but to consume the evil curse's power, thus bringing him onto the brink of insanity, but he survives in the end, gaining "one of a kind" powers. He also shares his body with the evil curse spirit that he consumed, who happens to also be one of the most powerful curse spirits in the world, it's just that he's in a sealed state! Higherups in the curse organization think he's a source of danger for consuming an extremely powerful cursde make an "exception" to make our protagonist a licensed curse practitioner, where he gains new friends, and fights evil curses for justice!!!! I feel like this beginning was just a challenge to how many tropes you can put into one story. It's terrible. The plot is straight out of the 1980s generic shounen garbage pile.

However, it DOES get better with time. Story arcs actually become interesting, thus making it actually engaging, and characters of all sorts get fleshed out, characterized, and the manga does a great job with doing these things, especially the characterization. You get to peer into a characters' heart and past, allowing you to actually feel more about them than just "generic character A." Stories about these events are pretty interesting. The enemy encounters are also great. High level cursed spirits are intelligent, thus conversations, personalities, and strategies all clash and create a great story. The protagonist, in the end, is just your generic MC with plot armor. About to die? No problem, just bring out the OP evil spirit that's inside of you and kill the enemy and survive. This happens a lot, by the way. But the thing that I like about this manga (at ch 126 anyway) is that there is not a lot of emphasis on our MC, and a lot of more interesting side characters take center stage, which actually have a personality and have chances of dying. I think that the manga does a great job of actually having certain characters dying, unlike in other shounen, where somehow everyone manages to live. In this series? No, people will die after intense fights, and this is definitely a good thing. It's not too infrequent that there are no consequences, and not too frequent that everyone you know is dead. It's a delicate balance.

Another thing to point out that I quite like a lot is the way cursed power is explained. Everyone knows the idea behind "spiritual energy," but this manga creates a unique system for it. People's powers are very well made and interesting to explore, both the cursed spirits, and the curse practitioners. Fights between these characters with different ideologies and cursed energy manipulation makes each fight stay very fresh and keeps you on your toes. Everyone is constantly innovating their craft, and creating new abilities to counter others or to destroy them, and there are many strategies to make use of each person's ability to their fullest ability. It's like One Piece, where everyone has their devil fruit powers that are unique to them. Plus, there are some cool concepts that are universal to all cursed energy practitioners, like the "field." I won't spoil anything, but there are some common ways every user has to manipulate their cursed energy and fight in their own "zone," so to speak.
Art is pretty good. I like the fights in the manga, and there are a lot of those, so no complaints there at all.
Despite the fact that the manga gets better, the beginning chapters are terrible, the MC is extremely generic (personality wise), and the MC has god-like plot armor. So no, it's not a masterpiece, but I'll tentatively put it at a 7/10 for now.

Jujutsu Kaisen review
Surprisingly great.

I would say the first couple chapters of the manga start off kinda messy, and incoherent and has the generic structure of most shounen. Mini arc, downtime, mini arc, then some more downtime. By far the weakest point of the series is the beginning.

I guess the best part of Jujutsu Kaisen is that though concept wise, very uncreative, the way it goes about these concepts makes it much more enjoyable than most shounen. I like how the villains are handled instead of the old *shounen protagonist defeats bad guy, here's an even stronger bad guy they have to defeat!*. I love how all the characters are interesting in their own right instead of trying to give them sad complexing backstories in attempt to make them deep. I love Itadori as a protagonist. The whole *evil entity possessing the main character* concept isn't new. Usually most mangas/animes that use this trope will use it as a power up for the MC and the only negatives to this possesion is that maybe the entity hurts some of the MCs friends or whatever and the MC feels bad about it for a short period time. Jujutsu Kaisen goes full force with this trope making it a complete basis on the entire story, other character's morality and Itadori's depth. The amount of damage this evil entity does VERY extreme, not just oops I got my best friend hurt "boo hoo". I also love how Gege (the mangaka) was able to do the "special like no other" main character trope that wasn't just the main character being stronger than everybody else or *shivers* "the underdog". Thank god this isn't just another power fanatasy shounen.

Also, action shounen manga with ZERO fanservice, humor that doesn't rely on unfunny boob jokes and terrible female characters??? Wow I've set the bar real low here. I love Megumi and Nobara and I know damn well they're not even completely fleshed out yet based on what's going to happen in the next arc. I like how the characters feel like that they have a lot of plot armor. Main characters get severly injured, main characters die. I can actually worry about them for once. I'm not sure why this is rated so low compared to stuff like Chainsaw man (which I think is a much weaker manga), probably because most people haven't reviewed past the craziness of the shibuya incident arc and it's not as popular. If this seems generic based on the first couple chapters, but please continue reading. It's one hell of a ride.

The art is is very skillful. I like how Gege is able to simplify anatomy. People may look at it and think it's bad drawing but it's extremely hard to do more geometrical drawings while making the anatomy look accurate. Gege is also really good a drawing hands. They'll be panels of them just showing off. The fight scenes are always great, dynamic poses and easy to follow whilst feeling urgent through the sketchiness and roughness of the artsyle. The backgrounds are very good and doesn't have characters walking about in white voids causing the reader to have no sense of having a setting or feeling grounded. The character design is great, the mangaka doesn't need to do the "5 DIFFERENT HAIRCOLORS THIS, CRAZY CLOTHES THAT" to make the character designs feel unique.

Props to this manga for doing the copy paste shounen story but actually doing it right.

Jujutsu Kaisen review
As of this review I'm about 35 chapters from being caught up but I love this series so much!

Story: 8
'My only problem with the story is the fact that it can get a bit stereotypical shonen at times but the power system is a huge highlight. I think the concept of Domain Expansion is a great idea and very different from what I've seen. The power system is a lot like nen in away mixed with the bizarre powers found in JoJo. The story itself is very good though with some of the best arcs being the Vs. Mahito arc and the Shibuya Incident arc.

Art: 9
The art in this manga has an art style I love and I think fits the series so much. It has kind of a sketchy art style which definitely fits the tone of this series.

Characters: 10
My favorite part of JJK is the characters. The characters are some of the best in shonen. Gojo is amazing and is a new tone to the normal mentor in shonen. He has very interesting powers and some of the best backstory. Aoi Todo is another mentor and is an amazing character. And on to my favorite character, Itadori. Itadori is an amazing protagonist with very interesting ideals. His personality is amazing and his interactions with Gojo are amazing.

Enjoyment: 10
This series is very fun, it never left me bored and the characters always gave me something fun to read.

Overall: 10
You might say this is too high, but I feel attached to this series. With so many loveable characters and an interesting plot, and great art, it would be hard for me to not give it a 10. I recommend this to anyone who hasn't read this, you will not be bored at all.

Jujutsu Kaisen review
Yuji Itadori become the curse that the shaman seeks to exorcise in order to save his friend. To save himself from being executed, he becomes one of the shamans and goes on a journey to fulfil his grandfather’s last wish.

Story: 7.5
Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK) may have the common troupe found in shonen yet the story weaved by Gege Akutami is complex and not as simple as you’d think because the world of JJK is a grim one and doesn’t shy away from the hideousness and grittiness of human nature. As such, don’t go reading this with a mindset or expectation you have on Naruto or Demon Slayer because you’ll be disappointed. JJK is the complete opposite of that.

The pacing is not too fast or too slow, but the story may feel a bit scattered and disconnected. When it comes to this, you need to be patient because it was done intentionally and as you progress further, what confuses you in the beginning slowly start to make sense in future chapters. The fight is brilliant because there is tactic and strategy used by characters. Despite the serious tone, the comedic part hits at the right moment and there are light-hearted chapters. Power system is great but the explanation for the individual technique can be difficult to understand.

Art: 8
The art is among the best in WSJ series currently. The sketchy and bold style emphasize the harshness of Jujutsu world and fit the overall tone of the story. The detailed human movement drawn in fight choreography makes it so fascinating to read and amazing panelling technique further enhance the fight scene. Though at times it can be confusing, paying extra attention to the details in panel really helps. The character designs, whilst may not be as fancy as One Piece, are distinguishable from one another despite looking almost ordinary (by shonen manga standard).

Character: 9
The character's writing is the biggest strength of this series. Each of one them is driven by personal reason and most of the time it’s not a heroic or noble motive because they all live in a cruel world. Some of the character’s writing covers from an entire story arc to spanning across multiple arcs that once you can piece together the information scattered by Gege, the more humane and understandable they become. I personally enjoy reading the progression of these character’s psyche and some of their characteristic or action is relatable at a certain point.

Overall: 8
JJK can truly be enjoyed if you take the time to understand the characters, their belief and the world itself which mean this is not a series for everyone. However, you can still enjoy the series at its face value. I highly recommend that at least read it two times to be able to make sense of the stuff that confuse you during your first read.

TL;DR: If you like Hunter x Hunter, go and read Jujutsu Kaisen.

Jujutsu Kaisen review
The first 40-50 chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen sucked balls to me. I hated almost everything about it. It was generic, cliched, and even confusing at times. But then the next 60 chapters made me go like "yeah, its alright". At times it's very fun to read, at others I'd rather listen to Asta scream.

The characters are boring. MC haha so strong naruto style. Fuck that guy. Most boring MC in the world. Kirito was more fun to watch. Sukuna better take over his body fast. The side MCs aka Megumi and the other girl. They're setting up a lot of mysteries around Megumi and his powers. His family is more interesting than his character. The other girl hasn't been developed enough as a character but I guess she has a distinct personality. Now the best characters. Every side character and villain is great. Geto, Satoru, Touji, and Nanami all interesting characters. Why the mangaka can make all these interesting characters, but his main characters are absolute ass, I will never know.

The story is pretty generic for the first 50 chapters. In fact, I would say the first 50 chapters are the worst thing I have ever read. I had never been so bored in my entire life. If my life had been any less sad, I would have never read it. After the kyoto/tokyo training arc thing, the story picks up. It goes from trash to treasure. From berserk anime to berserk manga. I'm overexaggerating it but it does get immensely better. We get a ton more interesting characters with much better stories than whatever happens in the first half. The flashback arc or whatever its called is definitely the best arc so far and maybe by the time the current arc ends It may be on par or better.

The art is good. There isn't anything too special about it. Sometimes it looks nice. Sometimes I have no idea what I'm looking at. The mangaka seems to have some problems with clarity sometimes but most of the time it looks good.

The power system is fucking stupid. It makes no sense to me. I probably read too fast in the beginning and missed out on how exactly it works or the specifics because the battles although nice too read, get kinda retarded sometimes. The only power that I can even understand is the one who has none and is just strong. All the of the curse powers are just garbage to me.

Overall, I would recommend the read. If you have the will to get past the first 40-50 chapters, or you may even end up liking it, then the story and characters will be dramatically better. The only thing that holds it back is the MC and his gang, the first few small arcs, and its predictability.

Jujutsu Kaisen review
[TRIGGER WARNING: this series contains a lot of body horror, and explores the subject of death. - If anybody is triggered by this, then take caution when reading / watching the series.]

BEST THINGS ABOUT THIS SERIES:

(1. SUBJECT MATTER: Surprisingly mature for a standard action shonen; - that being confronting death, valuing the life of others as well as your own, and even facing your own demise.

This also brings with it a lot of tension and fear that characters you like could die at any moment. And some very well might.

HOWEVER, this is later completely dropped in favour of straight up action and lots of body horror with little repercussion, which ain't necessarily bad, it's just a bit whiplash inducing if you don't expect it.)

(2. WORLD BUILDING: Nearly every arc expands on the world of Curses and Shamans, bringing in a new faction and memorable characters.

It's a dreary and depressing line of work being a shaman, but the comedic elements of the main cast act as a nice contrast to the dark background.

HOWEVER, the magic system, though unique and lot of fun to see in action, gets far too much explanation to the point of tedium, you could skip half the pages of power explanation and it wouldn't matter.)

(3. ACTION: If you want cool characters doing badass things, fight scenes that feel like they have proper weight behind each punch and kick, then you will love this series.

This manga is able to make you really feel the speed and ferocity in the movements, it's honestly a lot of fun. Nearly every fight leaves marks in the environment, and the wind up and payoffs can be extremely satisfying to watch.

HOWEVER, there is very little strategy beyond punching something really, really, really, really, hard. Despite some of the characters having unique powers of their own, they will most likely resort to the good ol' fist-to-face method. - This wasn't so much a problem for me but it might be for others.)

WORST THINGS ABOUT THIS SERIES:

(1. VILLAINS: While the monster designs are cool and creepy, showing off some truly disturbing body horror, a lot of them fall into the trap of "human-like blob monster". Fans of body horror have most likely seen a lot scarier. Its nothing special.

But worst of all, is the fact that nearly every villain, except for one, has the same role; - that being "Wacky Magic Serial Killer". Which gets extremely annoying after a while!

This can get so bad to the point where you're cheering for them to die, just because you want them to shut the hell up. Some are utterly pointless and die straight away. Don't get me wrong, it's super satisfying to see their comeuppance, but theres not much going for some of them beyond that.)

(2. TONE: For the first few arcs the series is legitimately tense as the death of close characters, and even the main character, is at a constant threat.

But, this changes to a tone in which many characters get stabbed, have their bones broken, blood poisoned, flesh burnt, head smashed and throat slit... and they just walk it off! I don't know what that plot armour is made of but it's strong stuff!

Also, unless you are a regular for horror movies and gore, then the tone can really tire you out sometimes. The fast pace has few moments where it slows down so fare warning when binge reading.)
