A GOOD DAY TO BE A DOG review
The series is about the FMC who has been cursed due to her ancestor's crime. The curse being that if she kisses a man she will turn into a dog at midnight. The problem lies that the heroine ends up kissing a man who not are only uncomfortable around each other, but who also hates dogs. Now you have two people with various issues in a way connected.
I enjoyed Bogum. I liked his so much i even remembered his name. He was definitely the best character in the series. I loved the contrast in his personalities. It was obvious something was up but i really think author nailed the *reveal* for the character. It was dramatic and interesting. The rest of characters i mean.... they were ok. As expected the FMC and MMC stood out (albeit were still out shined by Bogum). They weren't spectacular but i enjoyed their interactions. They had very romantic chemistry and i liked pretty much all the cute parts about it. Their romance was nice to see blossom. The rest of the characters were fine. They didn't do much anyway. I didn't really like any of the characters backstory either. Like the main male lead back story felt incredibly sappy and not really well done. Most pity party stories don't really work and its not like this did anything all that different. I guess what im trying to say is that i liked some parts of it. I really liked Bogum and the rest were medicore. None of it was really all that bad or even kinda bad. But it wasn't anything special either. I also wished the whole turning to dog thing was done better. The entire curse was poorly done. Like it didn't need to be there. I understand its meant to be this opposites attract type romance. But honestly it just didn't work. Granted i did still enjoy their romantic interactions but personally lovely complex just did it better. I also didn't like how everything was resolved in the end. Too annoying. TLDR: Its fine. Its got some nice moments though. 6/10 |
A GOOD DAY TO BE A DOG review
A clichéd romance story with superficial writing that relies on all the classic tropes to make up the rest of the plot besides the "turning into a dog" unique plot device. Characters are superficial and often don't seem to have a definite personality. The writing is like the author dragged and dropped cliché tropes and template plot pieces to make up their story. The only redeeming quality is the art which is decent but otherwise I found it to be boring at best and cringey / frustrating at worst.
Yet another example of 'this could be a 10 chapter manga if they just sat and talked through the problem like normal, rational people,'. Unless you're easily impressed by mediocre writing, skip this. The author clearly lacks creative talent to craft something truly engaging, unique and without the complete support of established narratives, clichéd and tropes. |
A GOOD DAY TO BE A DOG review
"A good day to be a dog" is fundamentally a tried and true formula for romance stories, but infused with enough novelty to pique interest and win affection. It certainly crams quite a number of story arcs into its run. It's a shame none of them end up being truly exemplary.
So while my good will was quite high for this story in it's formative stage, I did find myself depleted by the end. I wanted to like it more than I actually did. The romance didn't pop enough when it got off the ground. When it was inevitably threatened in a rather half-hearted way, the logical side of my brain won out. I could see, and agree with the putative culling of their romance. I want to be taken on that emotional roller-coaster with the characters and fall in love with them, not be able to deliberate the cost/benefit analysis of them remaining together... |
A GOOD DAY TO BE A DOG review
A good day to be a dog was one of the first webtoons I started to finally finish. The story is good and doesn't drag on and the characters are extremely cute! I wouldn't say there's that much action or drama but it is a nice cute romance webtoon to binge. it was a good read but nothing life changing. I'd say one of the best aspects of this webtoon are the characters and also the fact that it's not really dragged out like a lot of other webtoons that you see out there. I really enjoyed this while I was reading it, but now
that it's ended and it's been a while, I can't see myself going back to it to reread it or anything.

A GOOD DAY TO BE A DOG review
A Good Day to be a Dog could've been so much more. Upon stumbling about this webtoon and rereading the first 13 chapters continuously awaiting the next, I was immediately drawn into its setup. However, once the romance began, it sort of fell apart? After 20 chapters, I realized that Hana didn't really have a character. I honestly cannot describe her personality. Same with Seon Jin. None of the characters really have a goal except Bogum. While the main romance became just pure fluff with no development, Bogum's backstory really saved it all and he became my immediate favourite character of all time.

A GOOD DAY TO BE A DOG review
My friend had been recommending this series to me for ages and when I finally started reading it I was hooked from the first episode. Although the series was quite comedic, it also allows the readers to watch as the characters grow and accept each other. I loved the way that Lee Hay (the author) didn't make it a cliche romance with 2 love interests, but an intertwined romance that had been going on for generations.
Furthermore it allows a lot of people to relate to the struggles of relationships and growing up, even if you don't have a curse that turns you into a dog after kissing a boy! Although I think that everyone who has read the story wishes for more afterwards, it did itself justice while it was being created. I feel like this story is definitely made for people who need a good pick me up. I really loved this story and it is now one of my favourite webtoons, so I highly recommend it! |
A GOOD DAY TO BE A DOG review
Im gonna make this short. So, i have read this manhwa before but because it is still ongoing i forgot it and choose to read again. I dont care what others think about this manhwa, but i think this is one of the best webtoon i have ever read after flow and orange marmalade.
The story is simple, only about a girl who is cursed and turn into a dog if he kiss a guy. Although it is so simple and the conflict also not so big, i love the pace of this manhwa. Both of the characters are so cute i love them being together, their relationship is so lovely and cute, especially the male lead, he often blushes. There is no toxic relationship in this manhwa, so just enjoy it. I know some people think the ending is quite fast and i also think like that to be honest. But it doesnt make this manhwa bad, it still so good for me because ending is not everything guys, the story is more important. Moreover the mystery vibe in this manhwa also quite good and reasonable for me So will i recommend this for u? Definitely, because it is one of my favorite webtoon, and i think the strongest part is the character in here because i usually dont really like webtoon character, but i love this one |
