BioMeat: Nectar

How can I describe BioMeat: Nectar? In one word: Awesome. Like the basic synopsis describes, the manga takes place in Japan where a man by the surname of Toujo develops creatures known as B-M as a solution to food shortages. Somehow, one of these 'B-M' manage to escape from where it was developed resulting in mass mayhem throughout the manga.

Story: "In Soviet Russia, you don't eat hamburgers...hamburgers eat you!"
This quote could be what best describes the story for BioMeat: Nectar. For a horror fanatic such as I, the story of food eating humanity was a treat. This manga contained all that I ever wanted in a horror manga: blood, guts, gore, people fleeing for their lives, and an overabundance of artillery. Simply put, I enjoyed the story...a lot.

Art: "I'm lovin' it."
The artwork was sublime. The characters, the scenery, the background...the lines were clean and everything was such a sight for my eyes. I have no arguments about the artwork.

Character: “No matter what age you are, or what your circumstances might be, you are special, and you still have something unique to offer. Your life, because of who you are, has meaning.”
Each character was unique in their own individual way and contributed to the plot. No one character was the same. I particularly liked Shingo; maybe it's because he developed several plans and learned from the faults of his past rather than dwelling too deeply on them.

Enjoyment: "Every minute should be enjoyed and savored."
I loved this manga until the very end. In short, I read this manga in about three days time give or take a few breaks in between. I sped through this manga, my eyes deliciously taking in the story and the drawings. Although, I wish I had gone a bit slower. Oh well, I'll just read it again.

Overall: "Just do it."
Seriously, just read this manga and see for yourselves how good it is. If you're a horror fanatic who enjoys some gore, then this manga is for you. However, if you can't stand the sight of blood I'm not sure if you can stand reading it. That's not to say that there's gore left and right. There are a few breaks in between where there's no blood at all. But still, for anyone reading this review I recommend taking a look at BioMeat: Nectar. You won't be disappointed.

Bio-Meat Nectar is one of my favorite horror-like manga.The -like next to the horror is because the manga is not really scary its more a survival manga then anything else.Most of the people avoid it because the art is kind of Old-School and that isn t everyone's pair of shoes.But trust me its a nice manga and it kind of reminds me of a zombie survival manga but without zombies xD ( read it and see what i mean )

Story 10
Its 10 in my eyes and the story is the strongest point in the manga.Japan is short on meat and it has become expansive but there is a cheap alternative BioMeat genetic modified animals or that is at least what they want you to think.BioMeat eats everything including trash and that is why its so cheap and guess what they eat humans to.So what will happen if one of them escapes ? Find it out go read BioMeat Nectar.

The art is the weak point in the manga and its probably the reason why a lot of people are avoiding it.

All of the characters are different they come from different social classes and have different personalities.There a good piece of character development.I loved all the main characters in the manga and they make this manga so unusual and good.

Its one of the mangas you read and read and read and just can t put down and when you put it down you can t stop thinking about it.I really enjoyed it and I reread it two times.

This one is a must read.Its not a typical horror and its not a typical shounen
its something in between.You need to read it its a combination of horror, some blood and gore, comedy, even romance.It makes you think "What would I do in this situation ? and that makes a great manga great :)

BioMeat Nectar is an amazing story that shows the various ways people react when confronted with a doomsday scenario and how it can show the darker side of people. I liked this manga because it had realistic art and realistic representations of peoples insides; emotionally an physically.

The story was pretty good, and the ending of each arch was satisfying. However, each arch was... not. The series is essentially the same thing three times.

Art fits well with the story, although maybe not as well as a less stylized version might have done. It was good, but not great.

Characters stayed in character, were usually interesting enough to keep me reading, but they weren't really all that special.

Despite it's flaws BioMeat was very enjoyable. I've read it and reread it a few times over the past year or so, and I haven't gotten tired of it. It's a good series to read when you want to watch mindless drones to anihilate people but aren't in the mood for zombies. It's a fun comic to read.

This is... actually quite nice.

The crux of the story is that humanity made a creature to solve humanity's hunger problem, and that creature kinda... went out of control. The story revolves around groups of people fighting for survival.

Overall, I'd rate it 6/10.

Story: 6/10.

The story covers a lot of events that go one after another. The B-M fights protagonist, and while fighting the B-M, humans display their own flaws and weaknesses. The thing is... there are few quite cliched self-sacrifices along the way, that do not really make much sense from character perspective, and are obvious plot devices. There are few pieces of tech explanations that don't make much sense either. However, even if the story isn't great, it is quite solid and serves its function. It is interesting enough to read through.

Art: 6/10: It is a bit of old-school art with stylized characters which looks like they're from 1990s or slightly earlier era (with rounder faces, certain character having bad case of spiky hair and so on). However, machinery and interiors are drawn with love, and I don't spot any obviusly inserted stock photos for backgrounds in this title either. It isn't a stunning masterpiece, when it comes to visuals, but it is solid.

Characters: 5/10. Well, they have their personalities but most of the time they're living in a moment, and don't have much opportunity to express it. The series does portray character growth over time, however, sometimes it takes very weird turn, and side characters are very eager to perform self-sacrifice. This makes the characters less believable.

Enjoyment: 6/10. It is okay. It is not something you'd be reading at the edge of your seat, but it is interesting enough to pull through.

Overall: 6/10. It is okay. Might be worth checking out if you have the time, although by no means a masterpiece.
