Ight, how do we get started....

Well actually, before I go into this review, let me clarify something. I have realized that the people writing good reviews have only gotten to up to 20 chapters, and yes, around that area was where it was at its peak. It was enjoyable at the beginning too and the story was funny, but it went downhill, and fast too. Where I'm at (chapter 32) it completely sucks, like the author just dropped dead and some 10-year olds took his place. Let me explain why.

Story - 4 - The reason why I'm even giving a 4 in the first place is because I'm averaging the story from the beginning to where I'm now. I'd say the story at the start was a nice 7, maybe even an 8, it was cute, loveable, and different from what we usually see. The story at this time actually focused on what the story was about, his syndrome, and the funny things he would have to do to avoid and maybe overcome it, but now, it's much different. I won't be spoiling it, but when you get where I'm, you'll see how things have changed, from a rating of 8 to a 1.

Art - 5 - Same problem with the story, but not as bad. It was great at the beginning and it seemed the author loved what he did, and it still seems he does, but, it feels a bit out of touch and rushed.

Character - 3 - For every character except for Rintaro (and maybe an exception of Kyouka, though her background story was pretty stupid, same with Ayane), they really haven't had a reveal yet. Rino's was mediocre as hell and I don't know jackshit about the others. What do they do? Why are they here? I don't know! Maybe some characters will have a reveal later in the chapters that I haven't read but I don't care to look at this point.

Enjoyment - 3 - I will be honest, I had a couple, no, a lot of laughs, we all probably did. Until that thing came, "What came?" you might say, well, a shitty story with characters that have become more stupid somehow. I'm asking now and now again, where the boys at! They gave me the most laughs, but they're basically gone at this point.

Overall - 2 - What do I think now? Fuck this.

Imagine a world full of scantily clad women stronger than bears that can split the ground in half with their bare hands, and the only form of damage they take from fighting is that their clothes fall off! That is what this manga is all about. It sounds dumb right? Well, that’s because it is. It’s so dumb that it becomes funny. The protagonist dies if he becomes horny, so he learns special abilities to cover up half naked girls. He’s the master of jumping, dodging and escaping from sexy girls. You might think he’s gay, but he’s not, he just doesn’t want to die! A close up shot of breasts or a butt often cover whole pages in this manga. Sometimes this manga feels like the beginning of a hentai, so you might find yourself looking over your shoulder every now and then while praying to god that no one gets the wrong idea if they see what you’re reading!

Do you hate pointless fanservice?
Well you aren't alone. Our protagonist here fights this world of panty shots, boobs and such with only his martial arts and his gut.

But seriously. that's the general synopsis.

Why may one shy away?

well to fight against fan service, there must be a bit of it at least ( mostly for humor )
a wide range of characters means some may not be your favorite ( cough second and third year leaders )
may not be family friendly
battle oriented not romance oriented

One should definitely try this manga out as it has many novel aspects and is very enjoyable ( for me ). Reading a chapter can bring a smile to a gloomy day. Manly battles with humor, fan service ( negation ) and cute moments. What are you waiting for? ( maybe a gloomy day to be cheered up on:P ).

I personally recommend this to be read alone, not at a library or cafe to avoid a tinge of compunction. but hey, if you like doing stuff like that go ahead. freedom eh?

tl;dr: Great action, comedy, and art but though there is a good cast of characters, a pretty weak story overall.

This manga has pretty solid action, in that the ability sets are pretty solid, the scenes are well choreographed, and the art definitely makes it look pretty flashy, though it does seem to be pretty random. It also has a great character set, with a large number of interesting characters with a variety of personalities and pretty good character designs. It also has great humor, with a good amount of variety to it as well, but with the constant references to other works and such being what stood out as most hilarious. And just in general it has really good art that is just a pleasure to look at in and of itself. These aspects make the manga enjoyable to read from beginning to end without it ever feeling like its dragging on. However, holistically there is one major issue, in that there doesn't feel like there's much of a story. There's a set up, and then there are individual episodes, but it doesn't feel like there's really anything that could be considered an overarching story. The individual episodes are also solid, mainly in that they're usually character focused and flesh out one or a couple characters pretty well, but the manga feels like its suffering under the weight of having too many characters, in that while each episode usually does a good job, most characters only have one episode, with even the most important characters like Ayane only feeling like they have a couple. Hence, though each character gets fleshed out enough to be interesting, we don't get to see any more than that, and ultimately very minimal character or relationship development takes place. Because of these two aspects, a lack of story and character/relationship development, the story ultimately feels like it's going nowhere, and ultimately while in the end there are some major changes, they don't feel like they have that much impact. Now, that doesn't diminish that due to the action, comedy, characters, and art that from chapter to chapter the manga is very much enjoyable, but in hindsight after reading through the entire thing, it very much feels like its lacking in certain areas.

Having a disease that may cause your death when sexually aroused can be very tough, especially if you suddenly transfer to a girl's highschool that recently began admitting male students. Dragons Rioting is an action martial arts manga that incorporates genres such as ecchi and comedy. This may seem as your typical ecchi comedy manga, but in reality isn't.

The story of Dragons Rioting focuses around Tachibana Rintarou, a high schooler with a disease (Henisei Tashu Ijou Syndrome, or Hentai Syndrome) that may cause his death due to sexual excitement. To provide him with a safe life, his father decides to train him in order to control his body and mind, making him a superb fighter. Rintarou transfers to what he believes is a boys-only high school, Nangoku High, which in fact turned out to be an all-girls high school, were fighting is prevalent.

One point to note is that this manga's focus lays mainly in fighting battles and making a parody of the ecchi/comedy genre (whether intentional or not): the ecchi/harem type of elements are secondary. Rintarou's disease and the interactions with the female fighters lead to comedic and hilarious situations. The different fighting techniques and toughness of the characters are by no means realistic: from slicing air to summoning walls of stone just with the bare hands is the norm. This may bother readers looking for realistic combats, but in fact, I find it enhances the overall enjoyment of the manga immensely.

The cast of characters in Dragons Rioting is big: a huge cast of female characters, while just a few male characters. The variety of female characters is big: there is the strong, reckless Kyouka, the emotionless ones such as Rino or Erin, loli ones, you name it. As for the male characters, the only outstanding one is the protagonist, Rintarou, which is by far one of the best characters out there. He is not the typical perverted male lead, instead, he avoids any possible erotic situation at any cost with the most ridiculous, yet amusing techniques, which is really refreshing to see.

The character development in the manga is so far not deep, it is rather lacking in fact; the reader can appreciate some insight in the past of the main female characters, which explain to certain degree why they are strong fighters. However, most of it is still a mystery and probably won't be explained; it's a given that they are strong. This is nonetheless a minor drawback, which fits the non serious tone of the story so far.

The art in Dragons Rioting is very good; clean drawings and good shading on the different panels of the drawings. There is a good amount of backgrounds to the manga, though not as detailed as some, it fulfills its purpose well. The battle scenes are well displayed, the same applies to the different techniques shown.

The character designs are done well too, basically only gorgeous females with huge busts and asses, which bothered me a bit personally as it was a bit too ridiculous.The characters facial expression doesn't really vary a lot, but this is due to the positivist nature of the manga: it is not focused on being too serious.

Dragons Rioting was overall a very refreshing read to all of the ecchi/comedy mangas out there. The battles and the parody of the ecchi genre resulting in comedic situations really led to an enjoyable reading experience. The storyline isn't defined quite yet, but nevertheless I'd recommend this manga to anyone who likes battle themed manga or just wants a change from the ecchi mangas out there.

I think after 10 chapters it's time to for a first review, keep in mind that a lot might change and I will probably edit this review in the future.
With Dragons Rioting we have somewhat of a highschool action shounen and my guess is it will turn into a harem, probably including a little bit of romance (or at least I hope so)

Story: 7
Well, we have a school full of beautiful girls that kick serious ass. So far as we know the school is ruled by the 3 dragons, especially strong girls who gained a huge fellowship in the school.
Our MC Rintaro appears and more or less accidently makes a big entrance which causes one of the dragons to ask him to be his apprentice, but because of his extreme condition he is reluctant.
From there different girls show themselves, all of them incredibly fighters. Around chapter 7 there seems to be developing an interesting plot, that I won't mention here.

Art: 9
The art is really amazing, it's sharp, clean and every character looks great, but while the characters look awesome, the backgrounds often fall a little bit short, though this is only a minor issue which doesn't really influence my view on the manga.

Characters: 7
The MC Rintaro seems like a mix between Kinjirou Sakamachi (Mayo Chiki!) and Yoichi Karasuma (Asu no Yoichi!), extreme gynophobia due to his medical condition and an incredible strong fighter, very likeable and room for development, which I'm looking forward to
The girls so far kind of lack depth, you have the airhead, the strategist, the kickass and a buch of other different types, all of them beautiful, although I hope they will get some more development (there were allready hints to that, so I'm sure this point will soon get raised to 8)
The only other male characters so far are in a supporting role, you have Rintaros father who trained him and his two friends from school which serve pretty much only as commic relief but do a good job at that

Enjoyment: 9
Switch off your brain and enjoy, the premise might seem stupid, but it's just a blast to read this manga, you have really hilarious moments, as well as great action scenes, it's simply light hearted fun and so I impatiently wait for more chapters

Overall: 8
So for we have a very good action manga with a lot of very well drawn ecchi scenes and fan service, but hey, it's that kind of manga, so what did you expect?
It's very promising and I'm really looking forward to where the Author is going with this one.
Of course it's still early into this manga, but so far I can give an absolute recommendation if you like this sort of thing! For everyone else (except maybe hardcore shoujo only fans) it's still worth a try.

Considering all of the reviews here are of either at most 20 chapters so I felt a need to write a review. I will try my best to keep it spoiler free and as it is my first review so please go easy on me.

This manga had a potential to reach the level of high school dxd as it had a strong start with some strong characters. The MC was OP with some unique illness that made this story somewhat stand out from other echii manga.

Art(8):
The art was very good at the start. The author really puts a lot of effort into the art but towards the end of the manga, the art went downhill as well that made it cringy to read.

Character(2):
Beside MC, every major character got a headstart in term of character development and THAT'S IT!! the author didn't bother to properly give characters a development that they deserved and hence all of the other characters just became a lifeless showpiece for the sake of continuing the manga. The example is my favorite girl Kyouka, she got a good start in term of character-revealing but then it felt like the author just decided to completely ignore her existence.

Story(2):
The story had a strong start with so much potential to become something entirely amazing. It was hella funny and the gag references were enjoyable. But then halfway through the story, the story became literally shit and it felt like the author was trying too hard to make it funny anymore.

Overall(1):
Don't expect anything at all from this manga when you start reading it. It is so amazing at the start and so cringing halfway through. I expected a lot of things from it and in the end, I was utterly disappointed. So much potential wasted!

Quite a good read so far. Though this manga is far from finished, what I've read so far is pretty good.

This manga is somewhat unique from the standard harem non-sense in the sense that the male protagonist is actually running away from pervy stuff. A very interesting concept indeed. Not that less pervy stuff happen, quite contrary - he is drowning in a sea of women with exposed breasts and asses and has to employ special powers of his own in order to run away.

The main concept is that he is diagnosed with a rare "hentai" disease that will kill him if he is exposed to too much sexuality. So he trains hard (and he is possibly the strongest character in the manga so far) so that he doesn't get killed by his rare disorder.

But like his unlucky destiny unfolds, instead of going to a all boys highschool he instead is sent to an all girls highschool where all the fun is. Plus that each year has its own "dragon" female with insane powers and an army of followers that battle for supremacy. He is stuck in the middle and as the manga unfolds, all of the strongest and pretties girls want to follow him. One even begs him the entire manga to train her, to his discontent.

A great read (and will probably continue as such)
I highly recommend it to fans of both ecchi and action manga.

Story: for a fighting series with a lot of ecchi it does make a finer job than most of the one's out there in the same category, mainly because it doesnt fall into the cliches especially around the main characters

Art: i found the art quite appealing and interesting

Characters: many are not superb but the main characters are actually enjoyable for the style of manga, and add something different in the mix

Enjoyment: feel it can fall a bit repetitive when it goes on forever and hope it does not fall into the fill cliches that it's competitors usually do to keep it on running, but if you want some entertainment so far it will do just fine for you

Overall: quite a bit above the similar series on market, if you know what to expect it won't disappoint you and might get you some fresh new ideas, Final Score: 7/10

So you're probably thinking "a harem where the male protagonist has to avoid girls for his own sake?" Is such a thing even possible? Yes it is.

[TL DR at the bottom for you people who don't want to read my magnificent review in all it's glory] Before I go any further with this review I guess I should state that there is fanservice here, but you already knew that. That being said, it is not all about exposed cleavage and awkward situations for our MC. I'll shed some light in regards to the basis of the story here (feel free to skip ahead if you know it already). Unfortunately for Rintaro (MC) he was diagnosed with a rare condition that turns fatal if he gets aroused (i.e. girls are the bane of his existence). Fast forward to the first day of high school and he's applied to an all-boys school, which of course is not the case as it was an all-girls school that just recently turned co-ed. There he sees a showdown between two 'dragons' and shenanigans ensue.

Story - 6

I should say that I'm being conservative here because it's still way too early to get a clear idea as to where this manga is going (imo). A bit of background on the school has been revealed, which is nice and gives the impression of hidden potential within the plot line (one can only hope right?). I have a feeling that the story is approaching its first major arc (the minor arc was good) at this point and that should let us extrapolate going forward.

Art - 9

To be honest I would have given an 8.5, but I'm rather partial to the art in DR. I found it to be very clean, simple when there's not much going on and very detailed when the situation calls for it. All the crazy moves Rintaro pulls off are executed nicely and often displayed in full/half panels. My only gripe is that there can be too many panels with white space. It's not as if Watanabe can't improve further down the road.

Character -7

So far Rintaro really carries the story along well. One of the positives of this manga is the strong protagonist. Most readers will naturally gravitate towards him because of his stoic personality and funny moments. He's also different as he avoids girls where most MCs in a harem will do the opposite. Other than him, only two (maybe 3?) other characters have gotten significant development. Without revealing too much, the story seems to be focusing on character development at the moment so I may have scored this low depending on how well the first major arc goes.

Enjoyment - 8

There's never really a dull moment and it's not stupidly predictable as you might expect in other harems. It's not even your typical harem to be honest. Well, other than Rurina (she's such a cutie though!...ok I went on a tangent here) no one has a deep attraction to Rintaro just yet. Don't worry though, there will definitely be romance as there are signs of such already. Just depends on how our MC reacts. Good action scenes when you come across them; every chapter will make you laugh at some point and it's a relatively easy story to follow. I genuinely had a great time reading it and I'm sad that there's only a handful of chapters out, but I'm sure that it'll be well worth the wait.

Overall - 7

I really wanted to give an 8 here, but this manga needs to prove to me it has got more than what meets the eye. TL DR: Unclear about the overall story, there is potential here though. Art is clean and simple. The MC is very likeable, good development already for some supporting characters. A good manga to kick back and relax to.
