Fujimura is a loner delinquent at his school. Feared by his classmates since the first day of high school, he's had no friends and usually ditches class. But even his standoffish nature can't hold up when a class president with a few screws loose comes after him! And two more class presidents. They're a few cards short of a full deck too. (Actually, he's more like the tsukkomi in a world of boke.)

[This review (not really, just my thoughts), should only be read by people who finished Fukimura-kun Meitsu or people who don't mind getting spoiled.

It should be read thoughtfully, as it follows a linear line of thinking; you'll get lost if you try to skim. (I have some personal thoughts mixed inside)]

|

Funny, although it was sometimes repetitive. The love teasing was way, way too much.

The only things that made up for it was Eri hugging Fukimura in a bed somewhere in the middle of the manga (non-romantically) and her kissing him, for 1 panel, in the last chapter.

|

It really hurts to think that it is over, since I wasted quite some time (in 2 sittings: one at night, (about 2-3 hours), 1 the following day, from 12-16 (it was during exam session)).

This type of reaction and feeling of emptiness is felt by any man who witnesses a manga end with a character they really like in it, never to be seen again (except by non-canon fan made content).

But, even as I say that, my estimate is that my feelings for the manga will greatly deminish in 2-3 days, or even 1.

As it happens, this manga is not really unique, at least for the harem part and two of the girls (Shizuru and Surabe). The first one has a "tsundere girl who slowly realizes she loves the MC" vibe to her, the second one is better, but a little too affectionate and not serious enough. However, they are likeable and aren't piece by piece scripted architypes of female characters in manga/anime/LN.

Speaking of MC, he is a nice guy, yeah. However, I do believe he wasn't serious enough with his relashionships. In my opinion, he should have cleared things up a bit faster. (The damn, way too long, love triangle (more of quadrilateral))

The ending sequence started in the second to last chapter. It was good, in the sense that it didn't stretch itself, but was also bad, because it was toooo quick.

As I remind (or inform) you, the time-skip was in the last chapter, the only chapter where some (the) real affection starts, the kiss.

This, like what happens in many other romance manga, hurt me, but, I do feel relieved, in the sense that there was a serious sense of closure. There isn't a feeling of if their situation will be recked by life since it is (or at least I think that it is) implied that they'll live together and the girls married to the guy.

Obviously, this glosses over some serious problems, like stuff in the bedroom, so it still makes me a bit worried for their relashionship.

But, I think the author was right to end it here, since I probably would've started believing the fantasy world presented to me from the manga.

|

The art was correct, in the sense that it didn't make me think it was super hard to make nor did it impede my enjoyment. Not too worked, not too shabby; I like this the best, since, at least for now, I read quite quickly romance manga, since, at the moment I'm writing this, I'm a sucker for fuzziness of the heart and escapism of a reality that is disorganized (aka life (maybe like some of you)).

|

You should read the manga, but at the same time, not. I'm going to say this because I'm feeling this myself. There are conditions in which you should definitely, in my opinion, not read the manga.

[Slight disclaimer, some of you are maybe going to feel "who are you to judge in what condition and when I read manga".]

If you have stuff to do, please don't read this. This applies to a lot. If an imposed or self made deadline is close and you haven't prepared for it yet, and if it weren't for reading manga, you would work on it, you shouldn't definitely shouldn't read the manga.

If you have goals or fantasies that cannot be really fulfilled by reading the manga, don't.

If you crave for romantic stories and passion and don't have a girlfriend, don't read this. Two reasons, it's a serious teaser (you'll die of the suspense), and reading the manga will fake fulfill your desires,
resulting in...
the saddest feeling in the world...
post-separation emptyness disorder.

This feeling, when the manga is finished, is amplified if you try to fulfill something that you don't have by read this manga. You'll feel empty.

For me personally, because of my current situation, the separation from the likable characters and 2d girls hurts.

Stop reading this and get out of the building. Take a walk or something, I don't know; just don't bet your happiness on it. You are going to be happy, but when the inevitable end comes, you'll drown, in the feeling of remorse caused by parting with the world and/or the characters.

I'm saying all this because I am a survivor of many instances and periods of PSED (post-separation emptyness disorder, as mentioned earlier).

The pain hurts, and can only be avoided if there are people/friends/lover in real life, that you care for, love, encounter frequently, who have the same feelings toward you and whom you can trust in that they are with you for no ulterior motive, just because they like being with you.

|

Long preaching over, in the case that you're well off, you should read this manga, it's very good, that's all I have to say.

|

PS: My self-imposed unwanted advice is applicable to anything that you'll care too much for, be it manga, anime, book series or people. Have something to live for, and don't waste this manga by making it your shallow escape from your non-fulfilled life. It's funny and makes you feel fuzzy inside.

TL;DR
If all the attractive women in our world were boke, I would probably die single. But our young hero made the sacrifice I wouldn't. He became... a tsukkomi.

Story: 6
Fujimura-mates has a story, but that really isn't the focus of the manga. For the most part the story is just used to transition one joke to another. The amount of story it does have is actually pretty good. It is the weakest part of the manga however. So if you are looking for manzai characters in a strong story look elsewhere. If you are looking for a manzai comedy that actually has a sort decent plot, this manga is perfect for you.

Art: 5
The art is average. The girls are cute, and there really isn't much to complain about on the art style. But there weren't any moments that make you stop and think "Oh this looks cool". For a comedy of this sort, art isn't the primary focus anyways.

Character: 8
To be honest, most of the characters grew annoying when they were all together. However I am not a fan of manzai style comedy and this manga still made the characters generally likable. The characters are really what sells the manga and they did a good job keeping me entertained. If you are not a fan of manzai but still want to read this, I recommend reading it in bursts rather than all at once, because the characters remain likable that way. If you are a fan you should have no problems.

Enjoyment: 5
As mentioned earlier I am not a fan of manzai, but I still had a great time with this manga. The boke when in a group annoyed me and just made me feel bad for the MC. But when they are in smaller groups or by themselves I enjoyed myself immensely. At times the humour drifts away from manzai, and I caught myself laughing. Although I gave it a 5, which is usually an average on my scale, it is anything but average. It just had equal shares of highs and lows.

Overall: 7
I can highly recommend this to anyone who likes the tsukkomi and boke relationship. If you don't I would still recommend reading the first few chapters and seeing how you handle it.

A common stereotypical character throughout the world of manga and anime is the perverted male. Whether it be a supporting or a main character, you will generally find a guy that tries anything to see one of the female cast members naked body or that randomly spits out perverted one liners, all of which the females are disgusted at, with this being done all in the name of comic relief. Well, this manga goes down a rarer route and flips that entire stereotype on its head. This manga is about the life of the "delinquent" Hara Fujimura (which in other words means holy saint that is misunderstood) and his "stalker" Usami, a really perverted girl who fits the above stereotype perfectly, with the delinquent fitting in the role short-tempered girl who flips out at anything perverted. Of course, no romance would be complete without a harem, so a bunch of other eccentric characters join and also fall madly in love with him. Fujimura doesn't like any of these girls in a romantic way and really doesn't want this harem. Of course, this is recipe for a hilarious comedy.

Story - 7
Harem comedy + story = Nothing in existence. In all seriousness, this manga is especially lacking a story, even for a harem comedy. This manga have fairly unrelated arcs that are pretty much episodic in nature, so there is very little development. Sure there maybe a new introduced character here and there, but it really doesn't go anywhere. But what else do you expect, if you are looking into this manga, you have come here for the laughs, not a deep meaningful story. If you want a story, go read Death Note or something. While I'm on the subject of laughs, this manga gives it to you by the bucket load. While it may have a nonexistent story, it does what its set out to do and it excels at this, which is being funny. The characters are hilarious (which I will get to later) and the jokes are of really good quality, especially the random pervertedness of Usami. Of course, with the pervertedness comes the the "sexual" stories that are fairly inappropriate to show to a 5 year old, but are very comedic for us big mature older people. Overall, the story is 99% laughs and 1% development, but if you switch your brain off you won't care a bit.

Art - 7
Wow, a harem comedy with fan service being pretty much non-existent. Yes thats right people, clean up all that drink that you just spat all over your monitor, cause you heard me right. Amazingly, this harem comedy did the impossible, create a harem with pretty much no fan service without causing the universe to explode. Now I do say "pretty much", there is a little bit here and there, but its so weak that the 5 year old mentioned above could take it into show and tell and have no problems, just make sure its written in Japanese so no one can read what is being said. The art itself is nothing to sneeze at, but its fairly good quality that does its job right and isn't going to make you blind if you stare at it for too long. Overall, good solid art with little fanservice :o

Characters - 9
This is where the manga really shines. The whole cast of characters are all really interesting and are hilarious to boot. You've already got the before mentioned perverted Usami and saint/delinquent Fujimura, but there is also the dim-witted school president who is vying for Fujimuras love that wouldn't be able to live without the help of her sadistic vice-president and lastly the delinquent turned school idol that has a split personality, one being what i call the "Onii-Chan" personality which sometimes reverts into the "I will crush your nuts if you get in the way of my love" personality. Of course, common to alot of harems, all of these girls are best buddies and "support" each other to get the man first. I personally found it good that the main character didn't fall into the common the oblivious type of harem lead. He is very well aware that the 3 girls are in love with him, its just that he doesn't love them back and wishes that they would go away and leave him alone. As the story goes on, they grow on him, but still doesn't love any of them back. In the end, this manga has some amazing characters that are interesting while still being hilarious.

Enjoyment - 9
To be honest, anything that makes me laugh constantly I find enjoyable. So if you like laughing a lot, you too will find this enjoyable. With the chapters being fairly short but comedy packed, the manga makes sure that you will never be bored with whats going on. You will enjoy the characters especially, as they really are an entertaining bunch. While this manga doesn't really have a story as such, the individual arcs are really enjoyable, with each having just enough story to keep you interested in the hilarious comedy.

Overall, this is a hilarious manga that you will read when you want to relax, switch off the brain and have a goo laugh I personally really enjoyed the manga and you will enjoy it too if you like the perverted humour, (come on, I know you secretly do). I recommend to pick up this manga right now to start laughing, you wont regret it.

Any comments to improve my reviews will be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading :).

Meet the main character Fujimura, who is probably the only sane person in this manga. He is a deliquent and uninterested student who has not been showing up to school.Hilarity ensues when Eri Usumi, who has a crush on Fujimura, comes to convince him to come to school as well as confessing her love for him. That really scares him off, but he hasn't even seen the beginning yet, until he enters school the second day. Classmates consisting of a guy who dresses like a roman gladiator, a girl who can't speak proper japenese (thus giving way to many opportunities for jokes),absent minded and delusional student council president, the school idol (the moe character) and finally the vice president who is the second close sane character. Hilarity ensues with Fujimura's encounters with each of the (crazy) characters, mostly because he's always trying to clear up/explain/resolve misunderstanding of his words and actions. Look for many references to classic shounen works in some of the gags as well as parodies of shoujo cliches that make the story even funnier.

Story 8- Like most gag mangas, it's mostly situational comedy, there's no real plot. The story is about Fujimura trying to adjust to the crazies around him while trying to stay sane and the girls trying to get Fujimura to go out with them (even if it means forming a harem on their own).Still it flows well and moves at a reasonble pace (though not for the poor Fujimura).

Art 8- Art is pretty and I can actually tell the characters apart pretty well. The girls not only have different hair styles and colors, their chest sizes and accessories also help distinguish them.

Characters 9- Each and every character is equally important to the story. They all add their own zaniness to it, also because some of them are parodies of character types (like tsundre, yandere, moe, stoic, etc..). In terms of their personalities and absurdities, I have my personal favs. I liked the first girl introduced, Eri Usumi (stalker girl) and the vice president Harumi, the stoic who is really uninterested in most matters and in Fujimura.

Enjoyment 10- This is the second manga to make me laugh out loud (after WA!) and needless to say that is enough for enjoyment. In between waiting for chapters, I re read the manga from beginning, because it's just as funny no matter how many times you read it. Even the chapter titles are funny, as well as the side notes. Don't skip a word, no matter where it is placed in the panel, because I assure you you'll miss some funiness.

Overall 9- Because of two characters that were introduced in the beginning, r not focused on as much (and they r very funny). I am referring the gladiator wearing classmate and the girl who can't speak proper japanese. So anyways, I am deducting one point from the overall rating because of it.

When I picked this title, I didn't expect it to be such a funny gag/parody manga. Mostly because they're really hard to pull. There are very few mangas, except for some 4koma ones, that r this funny. I highly recommend anyone who's new to parody/gag genre manga to read this. Or even if you are having a bad day and want to laugh, I gurantee that this will make you laugh out loud.
