Hana Suzuki loves only two things in life: eating and sleeping. So when handsome classmate Izumi Oda asks Hana–his major crush–to join the school hockey club, persuading her proves to be a difficult task. True, the Grand Hockey Club is full of boys–and all the boys are super-cute–but given a choice, Hana prefers a sizzling steak to a hot date. Then Izumi mentions the field trips to fancy resorts. Now Hana can’t wait for the first away game, with its promise of delicious food and luxurious linens. Of course there’s also the getting up early, working hard, and playing well with others. How will Hana survive?

Gokuraku Seishun Hockey Club review
When I first picked up this book I was thinking about what it might be about. After reading the summary, I thought it would just be some ridiculous romance/sport kind of story but decided to give it a go.
Upon reading the first volume, I was hooked as the personalities were so easy to relate to and the main character, Hana Suzuki, appealed to me as a funny character because of her approach to things. The unique storyline made me think for a while, as if you looked at it from different angles, it wouldn't look all that interesting. But looking upon this series, you'll find it is quite enjoyable and humorous. Well, it also obviously depends on your preferences. Hana's lovely (lol) expressions, the first game, the quirky members of the Hockey Club, these are what make this story flow well. I haven't seen many people writing/drawing about a character like Hana. Makes me want to hug her! Hahaha. |
Gokuraku Seishun Hockey Club review
When I picked up this series, it was purely because of Ai Morinaga's previous series, Your and My Secret. I imagined a limited plot line and the same characters with different names.
I was very surprised to see different personalities and a situation I had never seen before. The characters are interesting, and their relationships are fun to watch playing out. This series is quite fun to read, and takes turns that are unexpected. Hilarious and addicting, this is a series I can't wait to finish. |
Gokuraku Seishun Hockey Club review
I started this manga just because it involved hockey so I was like ok I'm going to give it a try. Seriously, I didn't even read the description. Anyways, I finished it today and it was SO SO SO GOOOOOD!!!!!!! I love love loved it! It didn't even involved that much about hockey, only the fact that that is the main focus of their club, kind of;). Other manga involving sports contain so much info about that sport but this one not so much so if you're just looking for a really good shoujo manga then I would recommend this one. I just love
the characters and everything! The one downside was that the old people were, ummm, very creepy but even that part was super hilarious. This manga made me laugh so hard that my grandma who was downstairs wondered what I was doing. By the way, my door was closed and I was upstairs! All in all this was a super fantastic manga, I wish there were more chapters. Oh yeah, the art is pretty good too.

Gokuraku Seishun Hockey Club review
My Heavenly Hockey Club is very similar to Ouran High School Host Club, which is why I initially picked it up. It's a nice brain vacation from life and is really hilarious.
The main plot line seems to have not really advanced too much in the 37 chapters I've read so far, sort of the feeling you get from OHSHC, but seeing the characters develop as individuals and in relation with each other is really fun. I think that as I read on, the story will be become even more enjoyable. There are some ridiculously funny moments and some cute moments too, the characters have funny personalities and interesting relationships with one another, and the artwork is very beautiful. It's a very enjoyable read. |
Gokuraku Seishun Hockey Club review
Well this is my first Review so don't be too hard on me ahhaha, my english isn't really good but I hope that all of you can understand what i'm saying.
I don't know anymore where I found this manga, It was on my list and because I really need an manga that moment I randomly pick one from my list, it was naturally Gokuraku Seishun Hockey Club. So when I was reading it I thought it will be something full of expected things but it really turned out different than I thought. The more I read the more I was laughing, I really like the humor in this manga hahaha. I didn't expect that the characters would be so laughable. The art was really really nice, I have seen better ones but I found this beautiful too. In the story was a little romance -in my opinion- but I think that's really suitable in this manga, if it was too sweet it will be like any other manga were she will gets lovey dovey and than all that shit but in this manga she was dense all the time so I really like that too. I think that if you search a manga were you can laugh with what romance that this manga is suitable for you ^^ |
