A little known gem, this manga gets a lot of things right - suspense, engaging characters, involved and intricate supernatural elements, and above average gore. The main character may seem a bit of a mary sue, but I feel that her backstory and relationship with Jack would have made for an excellent stepping board for development. The setting is great, nothing beats this time period for creating a world that a lot of western readers will both recognize and at the same time find completely alien. The devil lives in Georgia, and playing to the religious psuedo-mythology of the South is a great base for just about any fiction, especially horror. Jack is just the right amount of terrifying and likable, and it seems that his power is nearly limitless, adding to the intrigue. The art is above average, with extra points for a believable portrayal of the rural south and not skimping on tough stuff like gore. All of the characters are well designed, look great, and feel like they belong, with the exception of the exorcist group that feel like they came from somewhere more refined, which helps in some ways but hurts in others. The addition of an antagonist/ group that fit in the setting more would help the world building, but hey that's just me.
Now to address the elephant in the room: it's only three chapters long on most sites and doesn't seem to be coming back. Its sad, but that doesn't mean you should pass on reading it. With a great cast, great setting, and above-average writing, this is a fun tidbit, even if it leaves you chomping at the bit for more. And boy would this series do well with more. Obviously nothing gets completed in three chapters, not even character building per se, but what's there is well worth your time. Give LIttLE 13 a shot, you'll definitely find it worthwhile.
