Lo-Fi After School review

Will make this short.

Story - 7
Art - 6
Character - 7
Enjoyment - 7

Lo-Fi After School which I unironically read with lofi radio playing in the background is a cool collection of 8 short stories ranging from the smallest of plots spanning about 7 pages to some with some deep thought behind them of around 40 pages.

There is no consistency storywise as there are new MCs appearing with every chapter, with a new story to tell each time. As said, some of those stories seem to hold no relevance to deep themes scattered through this story, merely just the actions of teenagers. Some stories are borderline surreal. Some are unironically made for the psychological genre. Despite the mish-mash having no coherence, they are nice short reads with themes such as deities and individual personalities, they don't really try to go further with growth as they are just solo chapters. Other nonsensical chapters feel strange in the mix but nothing in this story really makes any sense once you have a look for it yourself. It's a nice tang, if I must to this depressing atmosphere though. Like that one dude with the hair. He do love him some hair.

Art isn't special, you have probably come across something similar if you have managed to find this manga thrown deep into MAL's database. By all means, it isn't bad, but it isn't anything to remember. It most likely won't have a lasting effect on you. With nothing to show off in addition.

I enjoyed reading this, mainly because of chapter 3, but I still really quite liked this. Universal enjoyment wise, you might have some issues with the random switches in the atmosphere. Though, if you have managed to find this manga with no more than 750 members as of this review, then you are probably some manga completist who will enjoy this, though I would say the same for causal readers too.

Overall - 6.75 (7)

I can't remember if lofi radio made this better, I listen to it too much anyway lol. You can do you with any background sound.
