Among the quiet villages and towns of 18th century Europe, demons known as the Ill hide within the most beautiful works of art, sparked to life by the torment of their creators. Attracted by their jewel-like allure, the unwary find themselves possessed by the Ill and driven to horrific acts of violence. Only the hunters of the Ciste Vihad can dispel the Ill.
March is one such hunter, tracking the Ill from town to town to find the antiques that contain the demons before they can possess anyone. If the worst has come to pass, March's full powers are unleashed to battle the fiendish Ill. Born of tragedy, the artifacts all have their own tales to tell, as do each of their victims. But March's story may be the most tragic of all

March Story review
I learned about March Story from the magazine Otaku USA a few months ago and decided to pick it up.
First of all, the art is simply sublime. It's really detailed and graceful, with a luxurious use of black. It just makes you want to reach out and touch it; even all the gore is drawn beautifully. If a lot more mangas where drawn by this guy, the world would be a better place. So of course I give the art a 10/10, heck, let's give it an 11/10! The plot isn't all that original. Those of you familiar with D.Gray-Man will probably pick up on the similarities between the two. But it is interesting, none the less. It's dark with lots of blood, but some chapters have a really heartwarming feel to them. Of course, since there are only 4 chapters out, it's hard to tell just how heartwarming the overall plot is going to be. 8.5/10 Characters are average. Since there aren't that many chapters out, it's really hard to judge. March's backstory I found really interesting, though. 8/10 Overall I think it's pretty good, give it some time and it might blossom into something worth writing home about. So if you're looking for a manga with AWESOME art and a dark plot, why don't you pick up March Story? 9/10 …Oh yeah, and there's nudity too, so keep that in mind before you let mom read over your shoulder. |
March Story review
Intro:
The first two chapters are a bit slow and somewhat boring, mainly due to the fact that it is trying to explain the contents of the plot. After that, the manga takes flight into the unbelievable and thrilling events of the story, so try to stick to it until chapter three. Characters: March's attitude is similar to Haruhi Fujioka from Ouran High School Host Club. She's somewhat passive and can have her cute moments in the manga. She has short hair and looks like a young boy. There is of course many secrets behind her past but you will have to read the manga to find out. Rodin looks like the cool yet innocent type but he isn't at all. He tease March from time to time and shows some affection towards March. Despite his actions, he has yet to know that March is actually a girl. He can be sneaky in business and somewhat of a comedy relief in the manga. Jake looks like the the old witch, Yubaba, in Spirited Away her intentions are always pure. She cares a lot about March and has somewhat of an affiliation in March's past. She is like a big sister to March. |
