Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba sugiru Ai review

This manga is a sub series to the "Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi" series. So readers should go familiarize themselves with the source work first or at least take time to go watch the anime adaptation.

Disclaimer: Ai Fuyuumi = best girl.
Therefore this review might be a bit bias, maybe.

STORY: 8/10
Basically this series gives us more detailed backstory of the OreShura character Ai Fuyuumi. It shows us the history behind how she met Eita, how she fell in love with him, and her point of view during some of the events that took place in and out of school in the main line. It did however, flowed very naturally from beginning to end and I enjoyed the proper pacing of the story. The ending basically wrapped up at after a major event from the parent story but to fresh readers it might seem abrupt.

ART: 8/10
Despite having different drawers, the art quality in this sub series doesn't deviate that much from the main series. Our characters are drawn with a very mature look and that was a nice change of pace for me personally. Given that, the characters are all still recognizable and appealing. Background works were varied and "dream-like/airy" that meshed well with the story.

CHARACTERS: 8/10
If you've read the parent story or have knowledge on the series overall, then you won't see anything nothing new here. Their personalities and the way they present themselves are still consistent. Being a back story manga to dive deeper into Ai's past, most of the focus of character development will be based around her. As she was already pretty memorable for most OreShura fans, this was a real treat to see some even more backdrop of her character.

ENJOYMENT:
10/10 enjoyment due to the fact that it's a detailed backstory to Ai Fuyuumi (*smug face*).
Overall a solid 8/10 for the manga as a whole; a real treat if you're a fan of the series.
In all seriousness, I liked the fact that this spin off was told from another character from within the series. Seeing how certain events unfold, how that specific character's emotions developed and how we got to see their personality up close and personal was a joy to read, watch and experience. I am guilty of reading this one more than once to be honest (something I rarely do, no matter how good it is). If more character-based spin offs were done in the manga world; it would become a better place.
