Murgenia, a continent located in a different world. Not yet fallen to the hands of the Scientific Revolution, this land continues to pass down with care the fading magics of it's ancient days. It is a world ruled by sword and sorcery...
A long time has passed since the war which engulfed the whole of Murgenia. Yet the precariously maintained balance of peace approaches its end. Zarmine, a large kingdom located in the northern part of the continent has been reborn with the coming of its new king. Unsatisfied with the small power he wields, the desire for conquest consumes him. Under orders from this king who knows no equal, the Dark Army begins its invasion, turning many countries to the flames of war. Among those preparing for invasion is a small country located to the south west of the continent, known as Sunkwoll. The military strength is not even one tenth that of a large country. The will of the soldiers shakes. The king pours out lavish luxuries upon the nobility, without regard to the welfare of his people. It seems as though the destruction of this small, weak country Sunkwoll is imminent.

Rain review
Never heard of this manga before, and I forgot how I came across this series, but I am glad I did. I was not sure what to expect from this manga, but as I kept reading I was impressed by the story. It started off with your typical political medieval manga setting, where one country is at war with another. However, later on it turned a little like _Game of Thrones_ without the killing of all of the characters, with a mix of comedy. When other kingdoms were introduced, as the story progressed, the kingdoms stayed relevant. Their is also
some foreshadowing of other worlds several times, so that might come into play later on in the story. The MC himself might be from another world, or has visited other worlds.
As for the characters, the series has several good characters. The obvious is the MC, I like his carefree, narcissistic, kind nature. I also liked two of the princesses, one is kind but with some small yandere traits, and the other has a headstrong personality. Most of the MC's friends are also likeable. Some of the antagonist are well written, because they are not your typical evil characters. Especially the main antagonists, he is the type to go behind enemy lines and challenge the MC, and will also warn the MC that he will make a move soon. He does not scheme much, he likes to do most things straightforward, so he I respect that about him. I like the MC, but I will not be upset if the 'bad guy' wins on this one. |
Rain review
Rain is a tale of a knight and his princess, as he strives to protect her and the small country that she will be queen of.
And unfortunately, it's boring as hell and painful to read. Most notably, it reads out like a Mary Sue fic. And as a result, there is no tension in this story. It's a fantasy slice-of-life story without the comedy, and its attempts at drama and plot becomes irrelevant because the presentation is so dull, and the complete lack of realism makes it difficult at best to take it seriously. What is a real pity is that the plot isn't that bad; it's consistent and has a decent pace. But the presentation is too dull and quickly becomes boring at best. The characters are also decently fleshed out, which is notable considering the size of its cast, but it does so at the expense of its supposed "main" character. And most importantly, the characters feel out of place and do not synergize with their positions at all, almost as if they were randomly plucked from a Disney movie. The only part of this manga that can be praised without significant fault is its art, but it's not exceptional either, and unfortunately, art alone cannot carry a work alone. Overall, the manga faces significant problems from its lack of tension and realism, making for a very dull, and unenjoyable story. |
Rain review
Ummmm...well, Rain is a kind of manga with that cliche kind of story really.A love story between a young princess and yep u guessed it, the strongest knight of the kingdom 'Rain'.
Even though the story is predictible however the art is awesome and the characters are very likeable. The battle sequences are very good as well but for me the heart and soul of this manga is basically Rain. His strenght, laid back back personality and sometimes his over the top antics give this manga a life. So overall I would say it is a good read definately worth your time if you like the classic type of love story. |
Rain review
Rain, though it seems to be a little known manga, is actually quite a good quick read. Although I expected the typical kingdom-war kind of story, and it did follow that stereotype quite a bit, it was hilarious at some parts. The first few chapters have a bare thread plotline linking several characters in different places, but gets better as the story moves forward.
Artwise, the character designs are rather simple, but come together nicely; I personally liked it, but different people have different tastes Character development was a bit limited, with the main character (Rain) being rather interesting/mysterious, but the rest don't get much time to develop I have to say, I actually enjoyed the manga more than I first expected, just because of the moments that make you snicker and laugh out loud...overall, if there were more chapters released (only 6 as of now) I believe this would turn out into a great manga |
